PRIMOS BBQ - Loaded mac n cheese with brisket - Barbeque Near Me - Cadillac, Michigan

Just had lunch at Primos. What a disappointment. $36 for two subpar sandwiches and a cup of watered down gumbo. Brisket was overdone and no flavor except salty. The second star is because the cans of pop and bag of chips were as expected. Won't be back. read more

Brisket was all fat, pulled pork was overcooked and mushy, ribs were tiny. Best part of the meal was the Better Made chips. Complete waste or $20. Really disappointed. Should have read previous reviews. read more

Cadillac's HIDDEN GEM Not many reviews on this place so we decided to give it a try! You walk in to a market-like atmosphere with many beer and drink options to choose from! After the quick glance, comes the amazing, prompt service at the BBQ counter! The foot traffic in and out of the place was constant! To-go orders as well as in-house orders were non-stop! As far as the food...The choices are plenty! We ordered the brisket, pulled pork, baked beans and Mac & cheese. All of which were moist and delicious! The sides had a portion of brisket mixed in which made them extra tasty! Only one choice of bbq sauce was provided, but it was nothing to complain about! All food was very delicious! Across the room was a beer/cider tasting area! They offer flights for beer & cider so we tasted all of the ciders! The Triple Jam & Apple Pie were amongst our favorites!! Needless to say, we are BBQ fanatics and try BBQ places whenever we're out of town! This place is definitely a 5 for food, service and drinks! I'd recommend checking it out if you're if you love tasty foods and delicious ciders! We'll definitely be back to try more next time we're in town! I mean, who can beat BBQ & scrumptious ciders, all in one place!? Check it out! You won't be disappointed!! read more

We used to love this bbq place but every time we order meat now by the VERY EXPENSIVE pound it's all fat and inedible hard bits from over smoking! So we pay for two pounds and maybe get 1/2 pound edible meat! We are DONE ordering from this business for now Which is sad because they are a Christian based business fallen short of good help (teen workers who just do NOT care) and customer service clueless.. like everyone else.. too busy staring at their phones. read more

Very tasty! Would definitely go there again. Brisket was very good as were the wings Tender and tasty read more

Primos was a sweet surprise. Their smoked meats are outstanding. They also have a lot of extras for the community like music, trivia, wine tastings and bingo. We loved our meals and will definitely return. read more

The wings were phenomenal and didn't have much fat if any. The service was also very tending and helpful to us.

The brisket was fantastic. I had the parfait. When I got to the beans it was so salty. Why do you have to put salt in beans? The taste was terrible. Would have been great if they didn't over salt everything. read more

I have never been to this place but I've been told many times that it is a very good barbecue joint to go to. I went here yesterday trying to pick up something for dinner... It was a bit of a pain to actually get into the parking lot as there is no distinctive way into the restaurant and the snow makes it very difficult to figure out where the entrance is.... But once I got in there and I made my way to the counter to place an order, I passed someone just hanging out by the counter... As I passed him he starts mumbling in a low tone that is barely audible while trying to pull his pants up from around his knees.... I then asked him "What" as I legitimately did not hear him through his mumbling... Turns out he's the cook, and he just told me that he shut down the deli/ barbecue. If I want anything I need to go out to the beer garden tent to get some snacks.... How is I supposed to know that the store was closed? There's no sign on the door or in the window or out by the road..... With that plan completely ruined. I left and took my business elsewhere.... And I don't think I will be coming back.... If I could I would rate this zero read more

We ordered food from Primo's for my father's memorial service. My husband went to pick it up, and he called a few minutes later to tell us the restaurant had messed up badly. They didn't have the order prepared, and although my sister had confirmed--twice--that they would make vegetarian baked beans (no bacon or brisket in them), they told my husband that, oops, they hadn't made any. The only beans they had were those with meat in them. I got on the phone with them. "You'll get that order together right now while my husband waits, and the beans will be free," I said. "I can't authorize that," the woman on the phone said. "The only person who can do that is Jason." "Then get Jason on the line." "He's not in today." After we continued to insist, Primo's reluctantly agreed to take the beans off the bill. But when my husband arrived at the memorial with the food, we discovered Primo's had just given us a pile of shredded, dry meat and containers of barbecue sauce. The meat hadn't even been simmered in the sauce. We could have gotten better from the supermarket. Don't ever to go to Primo's in Cadillac. They're incompetent, and their food is awful. read more

I have eaten at primos many times before, but today the pulled pork on my sandwich was so dried out and chewy I couldn't even eat it! I don't think I would come back! read more

Great casual spot with really good bbq. Super friendly service. Great value. Definitely check this place out.

We where visiting for family when we stopped here for some food there food was cold snd they said that they had no buns while after given us very cold buns was not good flies everywhere found a screw in the ground. read more

Ordered food for carryout, including a tray of brisket. Unbeknownst to me the staff person packed the greasy brisket in a tray with a hole in it, which left a large puddle of grease in my oven where I placed it to keep it warm; also on my countertop. How could this staff person not see grease on the counter when they lifted the tray to place in the box with the other foods, and place it in another tray? It will be a while (maybe never) before I patronize this establishment again. Also the mac and cheese was "gloppy", It tasted like flour was not adequately cooked in the cheese sauce. read more

Great brisket with amazing sauce. Love the cute variety the store has if local items.

The pulled chicken was fantastic. We ordered the family pack and added the pulled chicken and two side salads. Glad we added the salad because their portion size for the 2 sides that came with the family pack were small! Unfortunately the brisket was really dry - sad about that. But again yeh chicken was good. Check out could use some customer service skills - not rude , just not friendly! read more

Went to have some bbq from this little place. The ribs were great and it took all I could muster to eat all of it. The sauces that they make was fantastic and had just the right heat for us. It is in a store like setting but there are some tables in one corner to set and enjoy. We could of had pulled pork but we wanted ribs. The price was very reasonable and would fit almost any budget. If your in this area, stop by and try there fare, it's worth it read more

Food wasn't all that bad... Dinner was bought for my family, a family value meal. The ribs were very dry almost like jerky.. the brisket very fatty with almost 1/2 inch of burnt outside edge. I was thankful for the meal during tough family times but hard for me to recommend to others.. read more

Just finished dinner from Primos. Everything was fantastic! We had the pulled pork and brisket, smoke Mac & cheese, smoked cheesy potatoes and Cole slaw. Everything was delicious. Really liked the Cole slaw. It is a mix of milk- based and vinegar slaw. Very tasty. The meat was juicy and flavorful. The sweet pickles are a nice touch. Thinking about going back for wings next time. read more

Very calm and friendly atmosphere. I love that it's connected to a store where I can pick up some unique drinks! Very very clean. The food was a good 7/10. Definitely worth the price. Absolutely nothing wrong with the food but I do prefer my favorite bbq place over this! All good things! read more

Stopped by while traveling back home. We like to avoid literal fast food and shoot for solid food that's quick. After scanning reviews we settled on this bbq joint. I was disappointed to say the least. When walking up to the counter there were a lot of large flies zipping around the food. The sides were sitting out in warming pans that were partly covered w lids. So the flies were off putting.... We ordered some "parfaits". One with pork and one w brisket. Both had the potatoes and beans. The potatoes were dried out and the brisket was a little too fatty. Maybe it was an off day for them idk but we don't feel compelled to return. The store was pretty neat though. Lots of local beers although the prices were a little steep imo read more

The best place I've ever been too. Jason was very helpful for sampling what's on tap. He was very informative. The food was amazing! Sampler platter was delicious, their meat is amazing! read more

Employee with no mask making food; customers not masked, no one enforcing it. Walked out without ordering even though menu looked interesting. Market area had some interesting items, but the carelessness with masks led us to Herman's up the street, much happier! read more

Not impressed with the food or service here. Ordered a "melt" and it came cold. Seems like warming it up is implied in the name. When I asked them if they could heat it up, they said their ovens were off. This was at 7:30 when they close at 8. read more

Excellent BBQ, and the new, downtown location is easy to get to. Try the mixed plate so you get a sample of their available meats.

This is what I've been waiting for and am just sorry it took me so long to try Primos. When everything I've heard has been nothing but raves, coming from same people whose opinions I have found different from my own, I was hesitant. During this health crisis I have found these guys more than willing to help me protect my personal well being. Thank you! So, I decided yesterday to include barbecue for dinner with my deli order. The ribs, barbecue sauce, and cheesy macs were the best I've had in 18 years!! Smashingly Yummy. read more
