As an out of towner, I asked about good food while I'm here working. I managed find this place on yelp after not really being satisfied with the answers my coworkers were providing about great places to eat. I decided to order a small pepperoni pizza for takeout. I'm so glad I did. This is one good pie. The crust was thin but sturdy enough to hold up the slice and not too hard or overly crispy. The flavor of the crust was excellent and the pepperoni was phenomenal. The sauce and cheese were just right and it was cooked perfectly. Takeout is on one side of the building which makes it easier to pop in without waiting inside. I wanted to eat the whole pizza. It was really good. I'll be mentioning this place to my coworkers to see what their experiences have been here if they have. I can't wait to eat another slice. This was fantastic. read more

It was the best of pizzas. It was the worst of pizzas. Two pizzas were ordered; a NY style large meatball and a plain upside down pie. The NY pie was not very good. The crust was so thin, there was no chew. All crisp and no chew. No layer between the crispy bottom and the wet, saucy side. Cracked and crumbled when folded. The ratio of crust to cheese to sauce was off. Baked on a screen. WAY too much gooey, non-snapping cheese. The outer crust had no chew to it and was too airy and light. Sauce was on point and meatballs were excellent. And, 16" isn't really a large in a REAL NY pizzeria. 18" is the NY standard. Then came the big save; the upside down or Utica pie. It was truly excellent. Probably pretty much the same ingredients as their NY style pizza, but WAY better in a different form. I ate it hot. I ate it at room temperature. Each bite was a flavorgasm. So, skip their NY style pie which is mediocre at best and order something memorable. read more

The pizzas are cooked just right, crispy and not doughy. The sauce taste homemade and flavorful. Last time, I ordered their NYS pizza and the crust was crispy and not dripping with oil. Its easy to miss this place, tucked in beside the spaghetti kettle. But if you're craving pizza this is in my opinion the best place in the area to get one. (though everyone's pizza taste vary, you will find this one nice and thin, crispy crust and excellent toppings) More importantly every Tuesday the special is a massive 20" pie that is hard to pass up. They do have most of your usual sub shop fair, as well, but its the pizza that earns it a five star in my book. read more

Let me tell ya, I really miss my NY slice. I've searched far and wide to find a place that's has a nice and thin slice with good quality toppings since I moved up here from Brooklyn. We went to eat a LOT of pizza around here and they were all chewy, doughy, thick, and heavy. Not my kind of slice. If you're into that, then you have tons of options around here. But a nice, crisp but not hard (that still folds nice into your mouth) NY thin slice, that's super hard to find! Primo's is a godsend. Hidden next to the Spaghetti Kettle it's really a find and worth the trip to get. It's to-go only so keep that in mind. The owner is so nice and he even made us a cheeseless version for a lactose-intolerance order that was super delicious! I believe they deliver too -- my partner ordered one for her class at Hamilton and the kids all were wondering where it was from because it was the best they've had in a long time! 4.5 stars for them! The are very friendly at this take out Pizza Place. They are the best we have had in the Utica/Clinton/New Hartford area in recent years. It is really no-frills but decent. We always get a regular cheese pie with tomato sauce-totally classic. Why the other local places have fallen behind is a mystery. But tonight was unbelievable. I called in an order and the girl taking my order was abrasive from the beginning. Like I was bothering her. Then, after I placed my order she rudely told me there was a $20 minimum delivery. Last week, there was no such thing, and this week there is. The owner came on the phone and said he did not want my business anymore.
