She had handed me a card with Paula's name and told me to go, that I would like her. She was so right!! The salon is open, homey and clean. I was able to get an appointment for following day, which I thought it was wonderful as I needed a haircut desperately. I got there at 10:00 am and Paula was ready for me. She greeted me in a way that I felt very comfortable and at home. Chat for a bit about my hair, what I was looking for, etc. Washed hair and back on chair. She did an awesome job and I felt such relief after she asked me to please let her know what I liked and what not. I had a great experience, and excellent haircut and now I have a hair stylist for the time I will stay in Syracuse. I am very happy! I left happy, love my haircut. Thank you Paula, from bottom of my heart.

I do not recommend going to this business at all. Stay away. I requested a refund the following day after my purchase for a voucher for this business. I'm not sure if it's because I didn't text the hairdresser back last month when she asked to schedule me after I got canceled on or what the situation was feel like my hair was sabotaged it's not like having hole in my sweater and I can cover it up, this is a hair that I have to walk around with now for months or even a year who knows how long it'll take before I can actually get it cut to a normal length again considering the side of my head is very short I would be getting a pixie cut to fix it I paid 180$ for my apt. and got a haircut that now hunts me. I'm trying to keep her name out of this but I very much do not recommend going incase you end up with this stylist. I wish I could share photos on here. i'm sure there have been another experiences like this, but people are on educated on how to leave reviews. It's taking me two weeks to get the courage to write a review myself, but every time I look in the mirror, I feel so depressed. I feel like my hair is mutilated to the point where other people are pointing it out. I've been told that I should reach out and get my money back or have them cut and fix my hair. But I feel like even if I had them fix it it's still gonna be messed up considering I'm gonna have the shortest hairstyle I've ever had in my 34 years of living. And there's no way the person would refund my money. I feel stupid because I even scrambled through my purse to tip her a decent amount as a mother of four children that $180 haircut/and dye and a tip could have been spent somewhere else, but shame on me for wanting to to feel good about myself. ‍ - signed the humiliated mama

I was searching for an appointment the week before the fall semester, which is naturally busy…read more Denied by many places, Kaitlyn was happy to come in early to do an appointment with me. Many salons wouldn't offer that, so I really appreciated the customer service. The decor inside is immaculate. As you'll see in the photos others have posted, it has an earthy yet luxurious feel to it. Down to earth but classy. Very bright and airy. A nice place to be. My stylist Kaitlyn (again, can't thank her enough for coming in early just for me) was very good about walking me through the steps of the process because I was doing a big change (cut off 12"+ and balayage; I've never even colored my hair before), making sure I was comfortable along the way. It definitely made me feel more at ease and trust in her abilities. She was very knowledgeable about the whole process of coloring from a chemical perspective. Which, as a chemistry major, I found pretty neat. Maybe others wouldn't care in the way I do about the chemistry, but it is relieving to know that your stylist really understands what she's doing to your hair. The products they use are very hair healthy and eco-friendly, which I find important. Louis offered me tea, too, which I've personally never experienced in a salon. Those little things help to make you more comfortable and at home, so I appreciated it greatly. As for how my hair turned out... I loved it! It couldn't have come out any better. It was exactly how I was hoping it would turn out. Masterful. It's been about 6 months since I got the cut and it's grown out nicely, which is exactly what I was hoping for! Before my hair was down to my hips with a lot of broken strands. I'm glad I got it chopped off because now it's healthy and turns out to be simple enough to style. Because now that I look back, I had so much hair that it just kinda sat there. I'm glad I got over the fear of cutting it, and that Kaitlyn was the one to do it! Just be aware that a process like mine cost about $200. Definitely not cheap, but these services also require a great deal of skill. Don't expect to be getting results this good for $20. I don't do a lot with my hair (I rarely ever use heat on it) so my hair is healthy enough to where I don't need cuts that often. But I think the next cut I need, I will come back.

I dreaded going to hair salons in the US because I have Asian type of hair (thick, heavy strands), and almost all salons I went to have been disappointing me with the results because they're not used to handle this type of hair. I went anyway because I was too desperate! I called in the morning and they told me to come in an hour later. Kristen was my stylist and she was super nice! She greeted me and offered some drinks. She really tried to cater to my needs and she even confirmed at the end if I want to adjust the length and the model (which I did and she was soooo accommodating!). The wash and blow at the end was really nice too! The place itself was really cozy and well decorated. It looks like high-end salon as soon as I walk in. But, here's the highlight, IT IS SO AFFORDABLE! I've had haircuts with the same price and they usually do just the bare minimum. I literally told her I can't believe I only have to pay that much! Would definitely come back for my routine haircut with Kristen!

Sorry Yelp engineering team-- I think that 5 stars might not be enough for Hairanoia…read more I was lucky enough to be able to schedule an appointment last minute, presumably due to a cancellation. Note that many of the stylists, especially the owner Michael, tend to book out for months. The online booking system was super simple to navigate, and gave me text updates. My appointment was in the evening, which in itself is a major plus. About an hour before my scheduled time, Michael called me and told me he could accommodate me 45 minutes earlier, which was a major plus. The shop was popping when I arrived-- phones ringing, customers popping in, even though it was the evening. The decor is really charming. Lots of interesting artwork and knick-knacks to catch the eye. When Michael asked, "what are we doing today?" I told him the color I wanted and he took the reins from there, which I appreciated, because I'm not the kind of person who goes to salons very often. Later in the appointment, he also asked if he could do a certain cut he thought would look good, and I said "go for it." I'm not the kind of client that has a specific vision in mind so I'm grateful when stylists use their expertise (but ask you.) Also, Michael explained that the dye he chose was less damaging and would be better suited for my hair, and he also recommended a few other products I should use. Some salons color your hair before they cut it, but I had a lot coming off, so Michael did a quick trim first. He cut it so quickly, I didn't even notice that my hair was suddenly 3-4 inches shorter until I glanced behind me and saw the floor littered with my split ends. Seriously, think this man might be some kind of ninja. When it came time to process the color, Michael asked me if I wanted to sit outside. This was the most unexpected delight of the evening. It turns out, they set up a little outdoor area with gravel, chairs, shade umbrellas, and even a fountain to work with COVID restrictions last year, and decided to bring it back this year. This was such a lovely surprise, and made for an unparalleled hair appointment experience. I don't get outside as much as I'd like to, so I appreciated getting a minute to sit in the sun. Granted, the neighbors were playing loud music so it was not perhaps quite as serene as expected, but I didn't mind so much. Throughout the visit Michael was very nice, as was the rest of the staff. My hair came out nice and the price was very reasonable. In fact, it was like reverse sticker shock-- I was actually surprised at how inexpensive it was. As someone with long hair, I tend to get charged more for these services-- I think because most stylists tend to do color first. Both the inside and outside areas of the salon were beautiful. Definitely recommend this one-- especially in the warm months when you can catch a little sunshine while your hair sets!
