I had a couple of haircuts there and started to recommend them to friends and family. Took my son and brother-in-law for haircuts and beard trims. The lady assigned to my 2-year-old was absolutely bullish in tone with a bad attitude. I showed her a picture; she glanced at it and told me to take him to the barber. I spoke to the owner, and I requested a different person for my son's haircut. The next lady was even worse. She started trimming my son's hair like she was brushing trees. She was commanding my 2-year-old as if he were an adult: "You have to look to the side, you need to face down, etc." I decided to intervene and hold my son's head to ease him from the lady's scary behavior. It is such a bad haircut--the finish was misaligned and uneven. I think their approach is to offer cheap haircuts, but quality and attitude are lacking. Affordable does not have to mean unprofessional. I always intend a $20 tip; $10(for bad quality). This lady did not even deserve the $5 I tipped. Anyway, I usually avoid careless and unprofessional businesses like this, but I got caught up this time. I would never return or recommend this place to anyone. I did not understand what they actually do. They do not call themselves barbers, but rather hairdressers. Especially if you have children, do not take them here. I have never seen older ladies command a 2-year-old like that--it was just scary.

Length of time in the chair was no more than 10 minutes. It was his first hair cut, 14 months old…read more We got the first hair cut package. I was expecting more of a transition to him getting the cut and more distractions. We did arrive no later than 9:05 to his 9:00 appointment. He did get done right after one kid that was previously there and before the other who arrived before us. One of the kids in the salon was given ghosts as a distraction. Maybe his mother brought it with them, but I believe that was something the salon had. This particular kid had Autism or Downs. Either way, I was disappointed because my little guy started crying. Imagine going to a new place, immediately getting strapped down, and water misting on you. Again, I expected more of a conversation to get him adjusted, showing him around, etc. He may be 14mo, but he understands a lot more than people give him credit for. This very well may have been the worker we had for this appointment. Idk, it was our first time. Overall, his hair cut turned out well. Picture, meh, again the worker didn't do much to try and get him to smile so it's mediocre. We got our clump of hair, despite me asking for additional clumps since I have a lot of places for keep sakes (it's my first kid). Ultimately, will I be back? I don't know. If I do, I will definitely slow the worker down, and do more as a parent to get my son adjusted versus assuming that's something they do. Would I recommend this place as a first hair cut? If you use tech time with your kid, this may be a good spot for you. If not, I would go in with the assumption you'll need to do the leg work to get your LO comfy with this.

Our hairdresser Christina was wonderful. I explained how we struggle with tangles... she was able to suggest some products to help with that. Everyone was very friendly, and this place is straight from Whoville! My daughter was a little hesitant at first but warmed right up. Highly recommend the first haircut package. We will definitely be returning for future haircuts, overall just a wonderful place for kids haircuts!

The level of care demonstrated by both students and instructors left me feeling warm and engaged the entire time and when I asked to come back in next week, I even requested a particular student that I felt I had built a rapport with! My hair was a conversation that for the first time in a long time, I hadn't felt any shame or judgement around. It was great being able to help students learn how to deal with A3 hair and it was great being able to feel good about investing in myself. Not to mention the prices aren't too shabby either :p If you get even HALF the care I received, you'll find yourself not just a fresh look, but knowledge about how to care for yourself just a bit more. Thank you very much for taking an interest in my hair =]

I had a really good first experience at Continental School of Beauty…read more Basically my head was a transitional color mess and I knew it was not something I could fix on my own, but I didn't know who to go to locally for color either. I settled on Continental after looking at their website and feeling pretty competent that could help me out. I did a walk in on a Friday morning for my color. Being there first thing around 10 am they were able to get me in. The student and her instructor worked together to figure out a fix for me, settling upon a color that was close to my natural tone and then blending it with my lighter ends. My student was very careful and very gentle and even though I was not in an especially personable mood that morning I could tell she really enjoyed what she was doing. My student was really patient and thorough- even with having three sides of my head shaved I still have a LOT of hair to get through. My student did not miss a single strand with the color- she used this cool comb technique on the sides to be sure she thoroughly coated each hair, and she sort of feathered color through top the top of my hair to create the transition. It was interesting! I inquired as to why the student chose the school and it was because she felt they taught more current techniques. (They have balayage as an option and I had no idea what that was until I googled it.) My student was about 9 days from finishing and seemed happy with her time there. I myself was impressed with the displays of creativity around me- the school had just had a contest with mannequins done celebrating international themes. The vibe was fun and cool with the music they had playing and a sense of camaraderie from the students. The instructors were present and on hand to answer questions and check in with the clients and students. As far as my results- I am happy! I would definitely go back for color in the future. I recommend letting the student photograph your results. They are there to learn and build their portfolios. Parking- it's a surprisingly busy plaza so you might have to park a bit further away from the school itself than you expect.
