(Good call in hindsight) I thought the point of a storage unit was for them to provide me with a clean and dry place to store my goods. I soon learned that wasn't true. In September, we got a bit of rain with that fake hurricane. I didn't check on my unit, as I didn't have any need to go inside. A few weeks later, my brother went to get something for me and my whole unit was flooded. I had electronics galore including a camera system and RFID chip entry system that were ruined and wooden desks that got swollen from the moisture. My leather couch molded - yes, of course I cleaned it off but that musty smell never goes away. Those were just the large items I mentioned. They never even offered to move me (when I finally asked, they said they didn't have any units available), they never offered even $1 off my rental, they never put fans to help dry it. It took several weeks for them to fix the problem. I felt bad for the manager because I could tell she was speaking to corporate on our behalf but her hands were tied. The only I gave two stars was because the manager was really nice and at least made an attempt to keep me informed of the repair progress. Full disclosure: I did get reimbursed from the insurance company but $2k doesn't cover even close to what I lost. Be careful renting here.

Please stop gossiping and help people waiting for service. I went in to ask what time they were closing the facility that evening since it was 12/31. She said very accusatorially IN SPANISH "we close at 9:30pm and if you come back tomorrow we WILL charge you the full amount of rent for the month. I see your rental unit (as she pointed to the security camera). Make sure you take your lock off and leave the unit open and clean or you will be charged. " Cool. I just wanted to know what time you'd be open until today. Also- where are the carts? In Spanish: "If you don't see them, someone is using them" This is a HUGE overpriced facility that somehow only has two moving carts for the entire lot? There should at the very least have 4 per floor. Nearly every unit is occupied and they aren't able to afford or manage their cart system? With as much as I've paid for storage throughout the years- I could have single handedly purchased more moving carts and dollies. The customer service employee could not work or care less. We had been moving out of our storage space for 3 days. There is zero system in place for knowing how many carts are being used and/or where they are. This facility will test every last drop of your patience. Don't bother coming here.

Never will I rent from the Coral Gables location again and I urge you not to either. The elevators…read moreare a lifeline to their business and they never work. The day we moved in there, one elevator was working and it was packed because the day before, neither elevators were working. This is unacceptable. Then, about a month and a half into our service, I got an email move out notice, telling me they appreciate our business and have moved out our items. This was obviously a mistake and it was meant for somebody else but that sent me into a panic and though I called over there, it took a while for someone to contact me back. Lastly, August 1 was our move out day and not only is it the first of the month, but also a weekend and we flew from our home city to work on the move out, rented a U-Haul and hand truck, only to find out the elevators are out of service!! We are on the seventh floor, so it's not possible to remove any of our items. Obviously, another big problem and totally unacceptable. Currently, we are halfway into Sunday and elevators are still are not working and we can't get any answers as to if they're working on them. This not only forces us to spend more money, but disrupts our everyday as we have to go back to work tomorrow, Monday and have flight flights scheduled back to our home city. Our entire weekend, it was scheduled around our move out, has been completely disrupted and ruined. It is definitely the perfect storm and the worst situation.

I have been a customer at CubeSmart in Oakland Park, Florida for approximately five years and…read morecurrently I am renting four units, but my experience has become extremely disappointing. I do not usually write negative reviews because I don't want to affect someone's livelihood, however, the situation has become so bad that I feel I have no other choice. The problems started a few years ago when my unit was broken into. The lock had been replaced, my belongings were damaged and shockingly, someone had urinated on my items. When I reported this, management showed no concern - no apology, no assistance, and no offer of compensation. They wouldn't even remove the unauthorized lock for me and when I was trying to dispose of the items that had been damaged due to someone urinating on them, they gave me a hard time about throwing them out in the trash cans out front. Since then, things have only been going downhill. Initially, I chose this storage facility because of the security and condition of the property; the main area had been secured by roller doors, which could not be accessed without a code. After the roller doors opened, there was then a gate in place. The building was clean and in good condition, which is not the case now. The roller doors have been inoperable for at least three years, and the gates have been inoperable for at least a year - creating an unsecured facility where people can come and go at will. The lack of roller doors also allows pigeons to roost in the rafters. This has resulted in excessive droppings and feathers throughout the property including on the carts that are used to move belongings to and from your car, creating unsanitary conditions that you inevitably bring into your vehicle and home. It is disgusting. I raised these concerns in writing, but nothing was addressed. The office staff appeared indifferent, responding with rehearsed dismissive answers rather than showing any genuine effort to help or even basic empathy. When I advised them that I was going to close all of my units, there was no attempt to retain my business or address any of these issues which speaks volumes about how they value customers. Additionally, although this facility is in disarray, they continue to raise prices. The rent on the last unit I rented increased after three months. Overall, this has been a deeply frustrating and unacceptable experience. Based on my experience, I strongly caution others beore choosing this facil

This place is a huge security risk. For at least 6 months the back gate has been broken and anyone…read morecan come in here at any time. What's the point of needing a code to get in through the front, when I could just come in through the back as there's nothing to stop me, or anyone else for that matter? If they are not spending to secure this place properly, one must wonder where else they are cutting. I am paying about $200 per month here, and I am not receiving the value I expected. Even Public Storage is more safe than this! Last week I came and there was only one cart. I am here now and there is only one other car and there are absolutely no carts anywhere to be found. I waited to see if anyone would come out with a cart and after 30 minutes no one had come. How is one supposed to bring things from their storage without the help of carts? Additionally it's only 7 pm, and lights are off. While I'm sitting here writing this, three people on bikes have come through the broken back gate. I'm not getting out of my car as I do not feel safe. I'm taking my stuff out of here and putting it at a storage facility that is better maintained. There's simply no excuse for a broken back gate for close to 6 months!
