So we had to put half our house's stuff in storage. We liked Sierra's Glen because it was close to our apt, but also because of the way it looked. More of a woodsy location than the other nearby self storage on Derry Street. That's pretty much why we took it. It also had some multi-month deal going on last summer .... so that kind of clenched it for us. The folks were always nice and helpful. I called them several times from Virginia to get pricing and ask questions, and to set up a unit for us. My husband showed up from Va with a load of stuff, and the folks were helpful in showing him in. The units are behind a gated area. You can access all day until a particular time at night, at which you can no longer enter until the next morning. We've never had an issue with entering the gate to get at our stuff whenever we needed. Sometimes during the year we'd pop over to file stuff in our filing cabinets, or to just check and see that we actually have all that stuff :D We got the single-car garage sized unit for a year. It's been really great for us and now that we're in a house, the stuff has come back. Having our things in storage for a year was painful sometimes (no idea where some of my clothes are, and nearly all my books are in there - oh the pain). However, it's been nice living with minimal things, and we're going through the stuff we've lived without for a year, and will donate or sell most of it that we absolutely do not need. We've lived without thinking about 90% of that stuff for a year, and could safely chuck most of it without another thought. :D Very grateful for Sierra's Glen to providing this service to us.

Recently made a cross country move and rented an 8x7x6 foot POD unit to pack up my studio…read moreapartment. Our POD was delivered on schedule to the Middletown location (actually a day earlier than the estimate I was given). I called ahead a few days ago to ask if I could access the contents of my POD and was able to schedule it later in the week to go retrieve my items. At least for this location, the PODs can be accessed between 8am-3pm. When you arrive, you can call the number on the front door and someone will come help move your POD storage box outside with a lil truck--just make sure you bring your key! The manager (whose name I believe was Jim) was super helpful the day my dad and I tried to access my POD. We struggled to open up the pull gate (some furniture had moved in transit and jammed the door) and Jim helped us even push the box open and troubleshoot. Moving is extremely painful, so we were super grateful for his help!

We chose the portable on-demand storage unit when we received a better quote from Mr. Sandman, our floor refinishing company, for doing both rooms simultaneously. We needed a place to store furniture for about one month until both jobs were completed. Hubby ordered a POD delivery for about one month to get us through the painting and floor work. The POD stored large pieces of our furniture from the two rooms. The cool part of the POD storage is the delivery and pickup of the unit. POD utilizes a hydraulic lift system called POD Zilla to lower the unit and load it back onto the truck when your contract ends. Please note that a permit is required to park the storage unit on the street near our property. We live in an older home; our garage is detached and on the back of our property. Sure it's clean, well-maintained, and most importantly well-lit, but it's the customer service that can make all the difference. And Vicky at SDE really goes the extra mile. We had very particular needs and she went out of her way to find us a storage room that fit all our requirements. Don't be afraid to ask questions either. She takes the time to explain her answers, and she doesn't talk down to you. Months later I'm still glad we chose Storage Depot East. And amusingly, we found it was a lot more convenient than we thought because it's "easy-off" and "easy-on" Route 322 near Walmart in Harrisburg. Keep up the good work Vicky.

Easy in and out, paved interior roads, gravel sites. Some sites slope front to back a bit, but a level spot can be found. Quiet unless you are in the sites near 283 (higher numbered sites on each row). Clean pool, easy turns and clearances for big rigs. Delighted to visit again when touring the area.

My air conditioner couldn't even drown out the noise. I got minimal sleep. I didn't try the pool. The bathroom/showers were nice. Unlevel campsites, the septic and water sat WAY back from the pad.. If it weren't for the hwy noise I would of stayed longer. I wont return because of that. The city is nearby, its an URBAN campground..Pine trees that drip pitch :(

But -1 for hidden fees (namely insurance and administrative fee) and -1 for not prorating my rent when I moved from one shed to a smaller unit. I still had about half the month paid for on the larger ($200/month) unit, had to pay in full for the smaller unit ($75/month) and then didn't even get the money back for the unused portion of the rent for the larger unit.
