Sure it's clean, well-maintained, and most importantly well-lit, but it's the customer service that can make all the difference. And Vicky at SDE really goes the extra mile. We had very particular needs and she went out of her way to find us a storage room that fit all our requirements. Don't be afraid to ask questions either. She takes the time to explain her answers, and she doesn't talk down to you. Months later I'm still glad we chose Storage Depot East. And amusingly, we found it was a lot more convenient than we thought because it's "easy-off" and "easy-on" Route 322 near Walmart in Harrisburg. Keep up the good work Vicky.

We had to use self-storage when moving from Va to Pa last year. We ended up having to take an apt…read more the first year here in Hbg, and had a whole ton of stuff that we just didn't have room for. So we had to put half our house's stuff in storage. We liked Sierra's Glen because it was close to our apt, but also because of the way it looked. More of a woodsy location than the other nearby self storage on Derry Street. That's pretty much why we took it. It also had some multi-month deal going on last summer .... so that kind of clenched it for us. The folks were always nice and helpful. I called them several times from Virginia to get pricing and ask questions, and to set up a unit for us. My husband showed up from Va with a load of stuff, and the folks were helpful in showing him in. The units are behind a gated area. You can access all day until a particular time at night, at which you can no longer enter until the next morning. We've never had an issue with entering the gate to get at our stuff whenever we needed. Sometimes during the year we'd pop over to file stuff in our filing cabinets, or to just check and see that we actually have all that stuff :D We got the single-car garage sized unit for a year. It's been really great for us and now that we're in a house, the stuff has come back. Having our things in storage for a year was painful sometimes (no idea where some of my clothes are, and nearly all my books are in there - oh the pain). However, it's been nice living with minimal things, and we're going through the stuff we've lived without for a year, and will donate or sell most of it that we absolutely do not need. We've lived without thinking about 90% of that stuff for a year, and could safely chuck most of it without another thought. :D Very grateful for Sierra's Glen to providing this service to us.

But -1 for hidden fees (namely insurance and administrative fee) and -1 for not prorating my rent when I moved from one shed to a smaller unit. I still had about half the month paid for on the larger ($200/month) unit, had to pay in full for the smaller unit ($75/month) and then didn't even get the money back for the unused portion of the rent for the larger unit.

They charged me like a small fee after I moved out and THEY NEVER NOTIFIED ME THAT THEY WERE GONNA CHARGE ME LIKE THAT. I ended up having debt from the Collection Bureau of America for more than $90. I was told by the person who answered the phone that even though I was supposed to give 15 days notice, he would accept my 11 days notice as it was "close enough " and would not be a problem. I moved out on time and the next day was charged for an extra month. When I complained I was told that the company was not responsible for what their employee told me. They refused to give me the contact information of someone higher in the company and then refused to contact me back. They have poorly trained employees, it appears, and customer satisfaction does not appear to mean anything to them. I would advise others to beware.

When I did a search I found iStore and they were just what we needed...a large storage unit, outside access and prices that were very reasonable. Not long after making the reservation on line, Braam called me to verify the unit would be available and told me to call if we needed anything. Upon arrival to the facility a week later, Cerisa welcomed us as if we were one of the family. It was the simplest of check in processes. They even offer free internet and use of the bathroom facilities in the office. We were in an out of the facility many times moving in and then moving out. Each time we were there someone from the facility would swing by and ask if we needed water or anything else. I would highly recommend iStore Self Storage. The units are clean and modern, everyone is helpful and friendly and the facility is very secure.

Wooden furniture, a fabric sofa, even military gear stored in durable containers. At that time, we also found mold on the walls of the unit where our contents never touched. What the hell causes aluminum to mold?! We're convinced there was a leak at some point because the floor still had water spots. We notified the office staff (David) on Saturday while moving out and he took photos of everything. Then we tried daily for a week to get the manager (Sylvia) on the phone. Clearly they have caller ID and she would never answer or return our voicemails. We were out 80% of the items we stored plus the $1800 in storage fees. Which was very unprofessional when there was more than enough room for her things to fit. Especially, when the truck had more than enough room if packed correctly. Once they began packing all had fit and what small things didn't go we packed in the car. As we got closer to evening Dwayne advised that he was going to get a hotel and arrive to the house in Alabama in the morning. We arrived to the house at 9am and no call, text, or email from Dwayne. We went to get breakfast still no call, text,or email. I called while at breakfast and was told by Dwayne that the helpers woke up late and they will be at the house by 12pm. Upon their arrival at 2pm (5 hours late), Dwayne called and advised they were at the house and decided to unload the truck in the driveway. As we pulled up to the house from picking up cleaning supplies and water for the guys we noticed our stuff on the driveway like it was a garage sale or something. It was so unprofessional and disappointing to see. Then, after they moved the things into the house Dwayne seemed frustrated and annoyed when I asked about him installing the TV's and assembly of the beds which was part of the agreement. He proceeded to install the bed and TV's. He seemed to struggle to install a TV wall mount and TV on the wall. Then, I went out to the hardware store to pick up more proper screws for the TV mount. Not sure what he did with the screws he removed in Manchester for the same mount. All the screws were packed and labled to make the installations smooth. But while I was gone he assembled 1 queen frame and a twin futon. When I came back they placed the TV on the wall and I looked at everything that wasn't till wrapped in plastic. They brought in the final piece of furniture. It was completely destroyed. I told them to leave it in the Garage. He decided to leave it right at the entrance of the garage door. So I had to move it to the side wall myself. He said it was fixable and its not. We went to sleep woke up the next morning sat back on the bed and the bed shifted with a loud bang. Noticed that the bed wasn't properly assembled screws missing and loose. I immediately checked everything. The twin bed was missing screws and shifting left and right. My antique coffee table was scuffed in mutiple places, dinning table scuffed, dressers scuffed, bed frame chipped and scuffed, some China plates cracked and destroyed, desk missing a part, screws checked and noticed screws were loosened and had to be tightened and the motor bar was disconnected, computer monitor mount was chipped like it was dropped on the ground. I was emailed by Dwayne to sent photos was told by email that they did their best and I would be fully compensated. I'm still waiting.
