Something's very wrong with one of the male older employees. I just called about coming over to have a key duplicated for my Dodge Journey. This guy seemed nice. He said to call back in 5 mins so he can look and see if he has it in stock. I call back in 15 and this new guys asks again what year my vehicle is, which tells me someone never looked for it in the first place. Then...THEN...this older guy asks for my address. I ask again if he has the key and how much, and AGAIN he asks for my address. He said that he treats this like an emergency service so it'll be pricey. And again, ASKS FOR MY ADDRESS. I said from the start that I was close and ready to drive over for the service. I was 5 mins away at a Big 5, hoping to head over, pay the guy, and get the key made, but no. And the aggressive asshole vibe is too much. The key is around $250. He's not doing me any favors. I called requesting service and this man was highly disrespectful. I'll head over to Auto Solutions off Sepulveda and Vanowen. Update: then a nice person, the original man I spoke with, called back asking politely if I'd still like a key made. I'm sorry but I couldn't do it, not after being treated so harshly by the older employee. It's not okay. BIGGER UPDATE: The old mean guys calls me 30 minutes later, while I'm in line at Big 5, and get this... He didn't start with hi, he said "When are you coming?" And said "Did somebody call you?" Holy Jesus it was 100% THE SAME GUY WHO HAD TREATED ME LIKE FILTH! This all felt like an abusive gaslighting relationship I never EVER wanted. My friend took the phone from me, she said I'm too nice, and yelled a him to never call again. This is borderline harassment!!! Also, old guy, you know it was you. All you had to do was apologize and we would've driven the 5 minutes for the key. But something tells me apologizing isn't in your wheelhouse. BOTTOMLINE, PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR KEY DUPLICATION SERVICES. EVEN BIGGER UPDATE: 45 minutes after the old mean guy got chewed out by my friend, THE OLD GUY TEXTS ME!!! I am a business owner in west LA. This week I was locked out of my store and called the locksmith. The technician who came, Leo, was very rude to me. He first told me $250, but once the lock was fixed, he demanded $360 and refused to give me the key until I paid. My keys, phone, and wallet were inside so I couldn't call anyone for help. Then, after he lets me back in, he refused to take my credit card and insisted on cash. Finally after he calls his boss he accepts my card, but then says both cards were declined. He tries to take a picture of my license and credit cards. He took advantage of me because my English is not good. He even called me insults and has ruined my week. I had a horrible experience and was disrespected and taken advantage of and do not recommend anyone to use this company read more

On the phone, I explained it was double doors, and I wasn't sure how to lock my the doors. And I asked for someone to come look at it- they came promptly. He said he would get his tools, and I told him to let me know how much it is before he starts working. He ends up finishing the job not completely perfectly, just good enough to lock the door again. After leaving here then tells me my bill is $860. I was completely in shock and unaware of how expensive the service would be, I barely had enough to pay him. I think it's highly unprofessional to not tell someone before doing a job how much is going to cost. I would never hire them again. read more

Called around and this place had middle of the road prices, but the person on the phone was clear and friendly and they could get my duplicate Prius fob done same-day. Several other places I called seemed a bit shady and couldn't get to me until later, but these guys took care of me quickly and not at the crazy rates my dealership wanted. This store has a lot of cute designs which i think is super fun! I've been to one of the key machines and have gotten inaccurate cuts, so I much prefer to have the in-person service!
