We were told the vehicle would be towed to the dealership 30 minutes away. We called to request the tow at 10:30 AM, As of 4:00 PM It had not arrived at the dealership. We called AAA and the Salinas Tow company numerous times to see what was going on. The dispatcher told us it would leave the tow yard at 2:30 PM When the next driver clocked in. My question is, then why take the tow, if you can't provide the service in a timely matter? She was very rude and defensive. I got another call from the dealership that the car never arrived and they will be closing soon, and my car could stay out in the unsecured parking lot. And the dealership would not be liable for loss, stolen, or damage to our car. Turns out our car was towed to the wrong dealership! My goodness this Salinas Tow company is very unprofessional, now my car is down the entire weekend for a 2-hour job! And a 30-minute tow. Do Not use Salinas Tow for any services. Dispatch told us they farmed out the tow to a nearby city because they didn't have a driver! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY, or BREATH, with Salinas Garage Towing Company. 1 star is 1 star too many... Last night, my pregnant niece was stranded in the Pacific Grove area with a rear tire that was slowly losing air after picking up what we initially believed was one large nail. She needed to make the long drive back home to Sacramento, so our biggest concern was getting the tire properly repaired and making sure she could safely make the trip. We contacted Aguilar Tire Service, and the gentleman who answered the phone was professional, courteous, and immediately willing to help. He quoted us $100 to respond and professionally repair the tire, and he did exactly what he said he would do. My niece was able to make it to Castroville, where he met her exactly when he said he would be there. After inspecting the tire, he discovered that there were actually two large nails, not just one. He professionally repaired both punctures, made sure the tire was safe, and got her back on the road for the drive to Sacramento. What impressed me even more was that he did not charge her anything additional for repairing the second puncture. He honored the price he originally quoted us. That kind of honesty and integrity is becoming increasingly difficult to find. As a retired Police Sergeant, I also truly appreciated that he arranged to meet my pregnant niece in a safe location and handled the entire situation professionally. When you have a family member stranded away from home at night, especially a pregnant young woman who still has a long drive ahead of her, knowing that a dependable and trustworthy person is responding means a great deal. Aguilar Tire Service did exactly what they promised, arrived exactly when they said they would, charged exactly what they quoted, and made sure my niece was safe before sending her on her way. My vehicle was taken to their Watsonville/Royal Oaks yard, and dealing with both the office staff and the tow yard attendant was unnecessarily stressful and hostile. I paid $1,500 to retrieve my vehicle, yet once on site, the yard attendant refused to give me his name, acted aggressively, and attempted to prevent me from leaving with my car after it had already been fully paid for. He became confrontational, behaved in an intimidating manner, and even tried closing the gate while I was inside the yard. I felt genuinely unsafe during this interaction and simply wanted to back my car out while waiting for another tow, but I was still denied access. While dealing with this unprofessional behavior at the yard, I had to call their office again. I needed my car towed to a tire shop and literally had to call their office three times before anyone was finally dispatched. Each time I called, I was told it would "only take about 20 minutes," which was repeatedly not true. It wasn't until that third call, while the situation was actively escalating at the yard, that they finally seemed to take the situation seriously. Once we were finally on the road, the tow truck driver followed behind me. During the drive, I received a call from a random office staff member telling me that I should have paid for the tow before leaving the yard and that my car would not be delivered to the destination until payment was made. This was never communicated beforehand. I pulled over to the side of the road, spoke directly with the tow truck driver, and explained the call I had just received. I asked whether I should pay immediately or upon arrival. He confirmed that paying at the destination was fine and that this was customary. The conflicting information and unnecessary call added yet another layer of stress to an already chaotic experience. The entire interaction was recorded, and I will be sharing the footage with my large local social media following so others are aware of how customers are treated here. Accidents are stressful enough. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. I strongly recommend avoiding Auto Care Towing if you have any other option.
