We just had Prime Experts come out to clean our dryer vent and were quoted a $79 service call. The technician was to come yesterday but changed the appointment to today. Once he arrived he quote the job to be over $400. My husband not wanting to lose the $79 agreed (yes, it was a bad decision). The tech was here 15 minutes. Bottom line, don't use this company. They are a rip off. And snarky comments will be deleted. read more

First and foremost, this place is a SCAM. We have 2 large fireplaces in a home we bought not too long ago that has some heating/electrical concerns so we wanted to be able to use the fireplaces. The home was built in 1988 and so we wanted to be sure they were good to use as a backup. We submitted the info online and it said they were local and close by in Royse City. It was a free estimate, so why not. Two days later two guys show up. They go outside on the patio to the roof and are outside at tops 5 minutes. Comes back in that we are at a level 3 and that we need a deep cleaning plus all of the cracks and whatnot need to be taken care of as water is just pouring down our chimney and creating mold. The invoice is over $8,000!!! We explain that was outside of the scope we were prepared to pay as we have some extensive electrical work to get done. So then he gets on the phone with some phone an electrician BS and says we can do all of that for $5k tomorrow and now it is all feeling scammy. So we say no thank you and we will think about it. I swear for days he is blowing up phones with fake electrical invoices and how much money down and we can do your chimney too and make it all safe. My husband then takes a look up the chimney and low and behold, neither one have ever been used. In fact, on the invoice they are going to clean the flues.. well there are NOT any flues. THey are more so for decoration at this point and never have been used - the sticker from when they were put in 1988 is still on there. So my husband tells him this and this representative of this company says - oh they just hired a Mexican to put those stickers on there. Now they call constantly, we block numbers, and they just call from different numbers. What a joke company. I hope someone investigates them and closes them down. read more

Technicians came out but were unable to fix gas fireplace. I called the office and explained that they didn't know how to fix my fireplace and that I would like a refund on the $79 service fee. The person I talked with (Chris) said that they didn't work on gas fireplaces. I asked again for a refund since this was not shared with me when I booked the appointment. He said he would have to talk to management. Several days later, I called back to get an update. A manager he'd left a note in the system that they would not refund the money, but no one called to tell me. I explained that I was not notified that they were unable to work on gas fireplaces and asked again for a refund. the person said they would ask management but it's been over a week and no one called me back. the check cleared my account yesterday, so there was no refund. read more

This is a nationwide task rabbit like scheme that makes you think you're hiring a local company, when you're really hiring random individuals. We thought we were hiring a local chimney company in AZ, but this whole company is based out of TX with nation wide reach, not disclosing who or what you're actually getting when you hire them. Case in point: The person sent out approached the entire chimney cleaning as a salesperson, making offers and deals and bargains. He didn't want to leave until we'd reached an agreement. Literally. He kept walking outside to make calls to the front office to get us a discount, which I wasn't even asking for. I just wasn't sure we were going to do the service, period. When I told him I wasn't sure what we were going to do as we had other repairs in the house we wanted done for other items, he told me he could do all the work. Electrical, plumbing, etc. We could hire him for anything, he said. We agreed to two items that seemed important and relatively normal for a chimney inspection and cleaning. He left our house a complete mess - not soot, but an actual tar like substance over the floor, on our living room rug, our bathroom, the door knobs, our front door. I had to cut a chunk of our carpet out. I'm still trying to get it off all the other surfaces. Our front door paint job may now be ruined on the inside around the knob area. He was unprepared with cleaning products to clean up after himself. He asked me if we had gasoline cleaner to clean his hands, which was concerning as he was dripping all over my floor. Then asked for wet wipes, which is fine, but odd that a chimney sweep professional wouldn't have their needed cleaning items. He wanted us to Zelle him the payment because he couldn't get the wifi to work, which we did not do. I told him I'd call Petty Brothers directly, but he went outside, then came back in and said he had it working. Then asked us if we'd leave him a tip at the end. I told him we don't normally tip for professions like electricians, plumbers, and assumed chimney sweeps was the same, but I'd be happy to call the office and figure it out. When I tried to call to speak to a manager of Petty Brothers Chimneys, I found out this company is run through a dispatch service. I then tried to go to their website which has a different name than Petty Brothers Chimneys (it shows up as The Gilbert Chimney Sweep Champions, with the URL as chimney pros AZ, when you click on the direct website link). It's also nearly identical to several other chimney websites making this entire experience even more bizarre. After my husband also called the 602.900.9592 number, they answered as Mister Chimney. Odd. We were also supposed to receive a receipt emailed upon completion, which has never come through. However, on our credit card pending charge it shows up as Prime Experts. Not Petty Brothers Chimneys or any chimney related name, for that matter, but a do-it-all home services company (prime-experts.com). When I call the 888 number, no one answers and it goes to a voicemail. After many calls to "the front office," our technician, Leo, called us back to ask why were complaining and that the front office was mad. He reiterated that he'd done a good job, gave us a $200 discount, and that our chimney was dirty, so of course he left a mess. I told him the website clearly says they leave no mess behind, and nothing was adding up on the backend when we're looking at charges, trying to get info, etc. When I asked him why Prime Experts was showing up on our credit card, he confirmed what we suspected: these are all companies working under an umbrella company, being hired out for various jobs. I'm most upset upset that I thought I was hiring what appeared to be a reputable local chimney company based on other reviews, only to question that very idea to the core after the fact. Every single person that answered the phone couldn't tell us who the manager was, guaranteed a call back (never happened), and couldn't give us a straight answer about anything. It makes us most definitely question the work, leaving many doubts behind. read more

This company is a complete joke. Avoid Prime Experts at all costs. We hired them to clean our chimney. The "technician" who showed up caused a massive leak in our roof after supposedly sealing our chimney flashing. He charged us $1085 for cleaning the chimney and repairing the sealant. He used extremely cheap materials. Now after countless calls, voicemails, and emails, both the technician and Prime Experts are totally unreachable. The only recourse we have is small claims court. Do yourself a favor and hire a local contractor, not one from Google like Prime Experts. read more

TOTAL FRAUD!!! They will scare you with unneeded repairs and safety concerns and ask you to pay for work before it is done. They are not licensed to operate at the Registrar of Contractors, they are not a licensed business with the AZ Department of Revenue, not registered with the corporation commission. In some, they are operating illegally in Arizona. They will show up as a subcontractor when you request service from another company (Earthwise). Do not pay them! Report them to the Registrar of Contractors and DOR if they show up. Complete rip off. read more

They tried to scam me. I booked an appointment for a chimney cleaning, the tech came to my home and told me he couldn't clean the chimney because the lining needed to be completely replaced so they provided me a quote for $4,800 to replace the lining. Prior to hiring them I decided to have another contractor give me a quote, when the other contractor came out they told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with my lining, they actually told me it was in perfect shape and is stainless steel and should last forever, they simply cleaned the chimney for me for $69. I'm glad i was smart enough to get a 2nd quote. My home is located in Minnesota in the twin cities area. read more
