    Incompetence made easy! TV Max is second-rate on so many levels. They are second-rate on channel…read morelineup, second-rate on reliability, second-rate on system upgrades, and second-rate in tormenting its customers. Yet, they try harder to be the best: Can you guess on which of the above they are trying to improve on? Yes, Dear Reader, they are channeling all of their energies to improving its torment level. I live in a condo complex where we're surrounded by the dominant cable demon Comcast yet our burg is strictly the province of this (wait for it) second-rate demon. We received a note stating that they wanted to upgrade our system to that fly-by-night unproven digital cable technology rolled out circa 2003. Called them to set up a time and they preferred that we all get scheduled on the same day. Simultaneous efficient torment. Great. Hoping that I could buy less pain by agreeing, this was all set up weeks ago. Per their guidance, I also forwarded a permission-to-enter form to my HOA office so that they could let those minions, er, technicians, into my home to do their thrashing. Arrived home yesterday at 4 PM to find a pink hangtag stating: "We couldn't get into your home. Please call 713.A.HAS.SLE to reschedule your visit." A smiley face was hand-drawn next to the word "Thanks", too. Why do I doubt the sincerity of this apology? Called the hassle hotline and told them of how I have complied with their sacrificial wishes and to grant me my cable TV boon. They said that the crews were still on site and would be routed to visit me since I was home now. Hours pass. Called again at 7 PM to follow up. Relayed the story again and was told that the crews are still onsite but I'm on the list. More hours pass. At 945 PM, I called and relayed the story for the third time. This time, the representative tells me that dispatch closes at 5 PM and if the "flash" message goes out after that, the minion-cum-tech doesn't respond. So, my 7 PM call and subsequent sitting at home was a complete waste of time. She offered an apology and a chance to reschedule for Saturday since it was the first day available. Of course, the range is from 8 AM to 5 PM. And, they promise to call 30 minutes in advance of the visit. Should I hold my breath for that? Utter failure as a service provider. Utter success at tormenting a cash-paying customer.

    I tell you what ... if you want a reason to start drinking in the morning, get you some TVMax…read more My building in my otherwise awesome apartment complex (Chateaux Dijon) has some sort of long-term agreement with TVMax. You can satellite-dish to your heart's content, but if for whatever reason (in my case, huge trees blocking where the dish would have to go) you want a cable coming into your house, TVMax it is. The technology is, as prior reviews indicate, subpar. It reminds me of back in the day when I had Phonoscope and there were no bells and whistles possible ... in, like, 1996. There are no HD channels. The program guide ... oh, dear Lord, give me strength. Let's say you're with Comcast and you see that some channel is showing "Poltergeist." You think, "Hey, what's that?" and you hit the guide button. Comcast will say "Poltergeist (1982). Craig T. Nelson, Jobeth Williams. A family's home is haunted by a host of ghosts." TVMax's guide will say "Poltergeist. A movie about ghosts." And that's when the guide is working, which is only about 80% of the time. Of the other 20%, at least half of that time, the guide has info in it, but it's erroneous. I'm no pop-culture hound by any means, but I have found that even I can tell a difference between Mythbusters and Sabado Gigante. Biggest drag about it all? Boyfriend works for Comcast. We could have every stinkin' service they offer for free, except for the lock on my complex TVMax has. Bottom line: unless you have a compelling reason to live in a TVMax complex, either a) reconsider and find a different place or b) get you a dish. Or c), I guess, go ahead and get TVMax and start in on the bourbon early.

    I highly recommend James at Otwav for all your audio/visual installation projects. I had my eye on…read morean ultra-short throw projector for awhile, so when I ordered my projector, I knew I'd need an experienced home theater professional to help bring my gaming/movie room to life. James worked on two projects for me to make this happen. He expertly installed my soundbar on the wall with precise measurements. Then, when I ordered a huge 135" projector screen to complement the ultra-short throw projector, he carefully built the frame and installed the huge screen on the wall directly above the soundbar. They look amazing! James spent a lot of time to ensure the soundbar and the screen were level and centered in exactly the places they needed to be so the projector would cast the optimal image. Then when I later noticed texture on the screen because of how the projector screen was shipped, he returned less than two days later to patiently redo the frame, tighten the tension springs for the screen, and carefully place it back on the wall. You will be glad you called James when you are massively enjoying your larger-than-life home theater experience with gaming and movies. He is professional, experienced, easy to work with, and charges extremely reasonable rates.

Mr. Farley not only performs to my expectations, but he also goes above them.
