When I called afterward, I was told there had been a "family emergency" and that they had sent me an email before the appointment to let me know. I never received any email, and I checked my spam folder as well. Whether there truly was a family emergency, I can't say. However, I do know that I was left waiting with no notice that the appointment had been canceled. If an email was never received, I would have expected a phone call or text instead. I've been hiring contractors for several exterior home projects this year, and unfortunately missed appointments have become a recurring problem. It's frustrating when companies don't seem to consider the homeowner's time. Based on my experience, I can't recommend a company that misses a scheduled appointment and fails to ensure the customer is notified in advance, especially one that markets itself as a high-end painting company.

We were needing to have an older deck and open porch restained at our rental property after…read morereplacing some damaged boards. I was impressed by reading the 5 star reviews on Yelp and contacted Axel & Aaron Painting. We sent photos of the job to Kimberly (as requested) first, and received thier verbal quote from her. Since we hadn't met in-person and the quote was just verbal off of the photos, we wanted to meet them at our rental property to review the scope of work. My husband and I met at our rental property with the two owners, Pedro and Kimberly, and all went well. My husband spent considerable time with Pedro discussing the prep work needed. We felt comfortable proceeding, and even told them about our next job, in hopes that they could also do that (if all went well). But on Day 1 things did not go well. Two workers came to pressure wash, but Pedro was never onsite. The workers were done and left within 2 hours, before we could get back to the rental to see the work. It's a large deck and large porch with raijlings, and we found many areas had been missed, so we called them to let them know right away. My husband sent them photos as well showing the mildew and dirty areas that still needed more pressure washing (see some of the photos). We expected Pedro would of course want to come back out himself that afternoon, or the next day, Day 2, since the prep and painting wasn't going to start until Day 3, so there was still time. Kimberly, after receiving the photos, was dismissive and told us by phone "this is normal and those areas can just be sanded before painting". You cannot sand away, or paint over the mold/mildew they left behind. I think it would likely have taken 1 hour more of pressure washing and they would stay on track to start prep and paint/stain on Day 3 (the second day of work) but there was no response or assurance from Pedro it would be addressed. That evening they sent the bid with an extra $300 add-on for the "option" of two colors "IF" we were to decide to paint the railings white. This was the first and only written proposal, and it seemed fair, so we were still ready to proceed. We just needed confirmation from Kimberly, or a callback from Pedro that they would come back to finish the missed areas since. There was no still no reply. Instead, the next morning, we got an email as follows: "Unfortunately, we won't be able to complete your staining project as planned. As we mentioned before, pressure wash was completed. Sorry we couldn't meet your expectations.". This is very unprofessional and caused us (and our tentants) a huge inconvenience. We saw RED FLAGS, and we were beginning to question if we should go any further with them. I am certain the quality would have been shoddy.

They were responsive, friendly and listened closely to what I needed. Together we came up with a project that was priced fairly. During the project they showed utmost kindness and patience as the original bid (due to my oversight) had the incorrect number of doors, and I also added baseboards. They accommodated me with a smile and were very fair with the cost. They have the utmost level of professionalism and know-how. They work hard and communicate well. The project was completed on time and within budget. I am very happy with my new doors and highly recommend Axel and Aaron Pro Painting.

We have a sunroom with wood beams which support roof skylights but needed to be enlarged with…read moreadditional beams to raise and hold multiple new skylights. After Armor Roofing remodeled the beam structure and installed skylights, Refined Painting patched the new interior two-beam sets with "mud" and paint to make each one of them appear like single white smooth textured beams. They also textured a portion of a wall that needed attention after a roof leak. They did a flawless job with multiple coats of priming, patching and painting the beams and returned a couple weeks latter to sand, "mud" and repaint a few small bubbles that arose in the curing process. The crew really is refined in their craft which goes way beyond painting. Jose, Luis, Julio and the entire crew are pros -- I want to say "artists" -- in drywall, texturing, reconstruction prep and painting.

I was a bit of a skeptic with all the glowing reviews but figured, let give him a shot and like many other customers, I couldn't be happier with this decision. Gabriel stands by his work and goes above and beyond with customer service. For exterior house painting, his bid came in competitive and he indicated he would provide 2 coats of paint. As we walked around the house I was impressed by all the items he was calling out that they would take care of after pressure washing and for prep along with his attention to detail. When they showed up to do the work, I provided input on a few things just to make sure that it wouldn't be missed during prep and they always said sure, we'll take care of it without hesitation. Gabriel even helped me understand their process further and explained a few things to me, which I appreciated. During the final walk through, I already marked a handful of small things with tape (inevitably there will always be a few touchups and polishing touches needed) and Gabriel was quick to add more blue tape for items that he would fix. The house looks amazing and I get lots of compliments from neighbors. I will continue to use and refer High Quality Painting, LLC.

This is a way overdue review, but this company was one of MANY I interviewed to have a far better…read moreidea of what was best to be done, the kind of paint used regarding stain or various grades of paint, the longevity of their work, and just getting a sense of what sort of people will be working on my house. I learned a lot more than when only interviewing one or two companies!! These people were not only kind, they were patient with all my questions and concerns when in person or email, etc. Shawn, Jennifer and David couldn't have been more professional yet also so kind that I felt as though they were friends coming to paint my house. Painting outdoors shows colors in different ways than indoors!! So selecting the right color was more difficult than expected. Another company almost cost TWICE as much but they offered more services than I needed, most of which was to make their company run easier for them, not the customers. Arclight prefers that everyone in their company is involved with more than one position to avoid the need for a big office or additional employees - they work very well as a team. This keeps the communication consistent as well as keeping the cost to the customers at an excellent value. They really care about the customers and have pride in their work. Choosing a color is not one of the things "included" regarding color advice, not in the way the more expensive company did, but more due to experience, they'll advise you about what looks best regarding the subtle differences in colors you want but once completed might not be what you thought it would be. I wanted my house to sort of look like the color of the lake nearby, not clash or match the neighbors, yet be distinctive without being too bold. Something grayish blue but I was led to a bluish gray which was PERFECT!!! I picked the colors, but Shawn gave much needed advice to have the right hue and saturation especially when it's outside!! This company is the ONLY one I'd recommend and the ONLY one I'll return to as needed. VERY professional yet VERY patient and KIND too. Nothing but good feelings about the company and the individuals.
