Sam and his crew (Lucas, Sergio, and Andre) painted the exterior of our home in Shoreline last week, and we couldn't be happier with their work and the results. From the beginning, Sam was the most responsive communicator of all the companies I reached out to, which is one of the reasons we chose him for the job. His bid was reasonable, and we liked his professionalism. When we asked to reschedule from the spring because a bird had built its nest right next to the house, Sam was very gracious and said he'd work us in once the babies had flown the nest. He then booked us for the week of the 4th of July, and two of his guys worked a full day on the holiday to get everything done within a week. This was during a heat wave, so we were especially impressed by their work ethic! They also showed great attention to detail, which is evident in how beautiful it looks. He was ran a little late, because he had to run to get supplies from multiple locations, but he kept me updated, so I always knew what was going on. This communication loop was invaluable when you are trying to get work done around the house. Sam was a true tradesman, and took time to do the work correctly, rather than taking shortcuts. I recently purchased a tv during Black Friday deal from Best Buy. However, our living room wall where we hang our TV needed a makeover. I only had a week to find a reliable and reasonable contractor. After checking out craigslist and other websites, I realized that Yelp had a way to submit your work and distribute all that information to local contractors. After I did all that, Sam from North Coast Painting replied with his quote, how long it will take and what to expect from him. He was very detailed with his explanation of the service and even provided some insights I had no knowledge about, including why the TV shouldn't be very close to the fireplace without a mantle. He was very professional, on-time and communicated frequently about when he would be coming, even probed for more information to be able to purchase the right type of wood to support a big screen tv. Sam is the best to work with! We had a challenging schedule and he was creative about how to make the project complete in time and with a couple of days spare! He was a great communicator and quick to respond. The paint job was AMAZING! He and his team really showed pride in their work. We also trusted him and his expertise so relied on his recommendations. We had an issue with the color matching between batches, which he said was rare so he enlisted the help of Sherwin Williams to try to resolve. We decided to repaint our master bedroom that had wallpaper in it. We contacted several companies for estimates and North Coast/Sam the owner, gave us a competitive bid. Because of the wallpaper oil-based primer paint had to be put on first then followed up with latex paint. Sam and his team of 2 more people arrived on time, called us to let us know they were on their way and were able to finish the job in one day, although Sam originally thought they may have to return for a couple of hours on a second day. I first met Sam and his crew earlier this year when they repainted a portion of the house after the install of two large picture windows. In Aug/Sept of 2022 we choose North Coast and owner Sam and crew, to paint the ext of our Seattle house. As the house was originally built in 1957 and had not been painted in a number of years, the prep work prior to painting was extremely important in the overall success of the project. Northcoast brought in an expert from Rodda Paint Co, to explain how some of the areas which had evidence of surface wood deterioration needed to be specially treated and sealed prior to painting.
