I needed some patch work for a hole made in our wall following repair of a waste pipe. I was surprised that most of the drywallers on Yelp were unwilling to do the work because the job was too small. Finally, I found Teak and was really happy with all aspects of the repair. As other reviews say, Teak is very responsive and was quick to get me the bid and contract. His employees were on time, very courteous, clean, and were able to finish the job in 2 visits. The wall is as good as new with the exception of some paint which I will apply over the weekend. Teak quickly set a tiime for us to meet for an estimate at our new house with open walls. Once committed I called to set up a date and was slightly bummed that it would take 2 weeks to start but it makes perfect sense at the same time. I was glad a big job could happen so soon, it's not like they don't have a schedule and it was not a small job. I respected the honesty and time management. I own a small business myself and even told him how impressed I was with his consistency in covering all bases with the contract, clarity, explanations for costs, etc. He was very responsive and took care of my needs. I was already happy with Teak Drywall. I can summarize the experience in three phases: 1. Pre-quote phase: Responded to my quote request within 20 min after the request was sent on a friday evening. Very professional, very responsive, and they were available to start work within 4 days. Although a little high relative to other people, they understood the job and they put confidence in the timetable (I was time-pressed and this was a factor). 2. Activity phase: Communication was frequent and thorough. I knew when they were coming and what they were going to do. They were ALWAYS a little early which caught me off-guard, but overall they were consistent and respectful of my home for the entirety of this three-day job. 3. End phase: Job was completed on time and I (so far) see zero issues. Keep in mind that QUOTE to COMPLETION took 6 days total. One other thing of note was that they *could've* made this a two-day job but they decided to apply one extra coat because it was the right thing to do. This is an example of their mission for quality. Apart from cost (which was reasonable but high), I have NOTHING to criticize about the entire experience. Please use Teak. read more

A freak ice storm soon after moving to our new house in the outskirts of Seattle led to a roof leak and a lot of ceiling damage. Everybody we could find in our area either weren't interested in doing ceiling work larger than small patches, or else wanted to overcharge by an absurd amount. My general contractor had hired a unreliable subcontractor to retile my bathroom. And clearly didn't know what they were doing. They punctured the drain in the tub trying to clear the mud and grout they clogged it with. So the water completely destroyed the ceiling of my downstairs neighbour. Terrible. Owner wanted me to send him cell phone pics of the drywall issue. I was skeptical, but he sent his crew to fix the problem without seeing the problem in person. They guarantee their work so when the cracks came back I called them to fix it and the owner finally came and saw the issue and said it was more serious but he could fix it but would charge me more. Also gave me a ton of attitude. I agreed to pay more despite the guarantee because I just wanted it fixed. The fix lasted longer but the cracks came back. I told him and he said there was structural problems. I asked who I should call about that and he said he couldn't help. Wasted my time, money, and I'm not sure he knows what he's doing. I had contacted seven drywall contractors for a tape , mud and texture job, the 1300 sq ft of board was already hung. I received only four responses and only three were willing to give quotes. Teak was the middle quote but within $50.00 of the lowest. The high quote was $1000.00 more! Everyone's is busy with all the construction going on and the low bid won't even give a start date other than maybe after first of the year. Teak was still able to work me into the schedule. We've been living with a noticeable crack along our vaulted ceiling where the interior walls meet the ceiling in the living room and adjoining bathroom. Teak and his employee Paul did a great job with my drywall project. I replaced all the in-wall heating in my house which left 5 shoebox sized holes in my drywall. Teak was very responsive to my request for a quote and quickly set a date to review the job. The quote was reasonable for the work and we set a date to start the project about two weeks after. When the project date rolled around, Paul showed up on time and ready to begin. He laid down protection on all the pathways to the project areas and protected the area around the project as well. It took two days to finish the project. The first day was filling the holes and putting down a layer of texture and the second day was to put down additional texture. When he was done the walls looked like they had never had holes in them at all. Paul cleaned up all of the protection, leaving my home looking just as it did before. Teak took on a smaller job that other contractors were not interested in. He completed it on time, on budget, and he and his employee were professional and courteous. I had already put up the drywall myself and needed it finished, which is the hard part. My walls hadn't gone up exactly straight and the window looked kinda off because of this...and I had worked myself into some other corners aesthetically that I thought might be unfixable. Teak Drywall was recommended by my general contractor for a repair on water damage requiring all furnishings removed from house. Since I had an empty house I decided to hire Teak to do new ceiling drywall throughout upstairs. This project took about 2 weeks and I was notified at every step and knew exactly what to expect. The results were astounding and a huge improvement from old original ceiling. The whole crew was respectful, on time, with thorough work ethics. The project included prep for removal of light fixtures, taping and plastic covers, etc., then installation, tape, plaster, sand and primer paint. When finished, cleanup crew back to remove any leftover paint/plaster, ladders, and so on, then clean and vacuum. Next project will be the damage repair on walls that got wet from water damage. I know Teak will provide an equally satisfactory job, and I look forward to having them work on the next steps. A+ rating all around! I highly recommend. read more
