Max and the crew did a fantastic job on all of the exterior cedar siding repairs and the new two-tone paint scheme which left our home looking amazing. The pricing was albeit reasonable for the quality of work, from the exterior pressure washing, carpentry, and painting. This family run company first is so refreshing! I interviewed 6 so I know. I was unable to afford painting my home this year. And hello painting was the only company that said they would work with me. My family is going to paint the house. I know we won't get it all done. Hello painting came out and gave a very competitive bid. Out of several bids they were the second most affordable. It may have been close cost-wise, but nothing else was even remotely close. I have done many home remodels and painting projects, but I don't write a lot of reviews. I simply cant say enough good things about HELLO painting! You can tell they care about their work. When Hello Painting arrived for the quote Vadim was very professional and thorough. He provided a detailed quote and followed up after the quote. Their price was very competitive. The team moved quickly to complete the job. I taped off a few items I wanted them to touch up and when they walked the site they ended up taping more items off. We had a rental house at Wedgewood area near U-District, with interior needing new paint on wall, ceiling, trim, and doors. Medium size, but challenging job. The ceiling suffered some peeling and had to repaired, with some parts high ceilings. Vadim came to the initial visit and took detailed notes of what we needed and gave us recommendations on the best methods to go forward. We were sent a very detailed bid with pictures, detailed lists of what is to be done and clearly stated options. The crew came the following week and quickly with great attention to detail, finished the job on time. We were impressed that even though the duplex was a rental, they treated the job as if it was an owner-occupied house... with full care and made sure everything was done right. He gave us a great quote and was much more affordable than other estimates we got. His business partner and Co-owner Slavic scheduled us immediately for two weeks out when the weather was permitting. The crew worked tirelessly and after a few days, they were all finished. They walked around with me for a final inspection and everything was great. Vadim came out to give me an estimate after we did a walk around. One thing I pointed out was the need for calking around a sliding glass door. There was a little bit of peeling paint at the bottom of the siding in a few places that needed attention. They started the job pressure washing and three spots were repaired that had been pointed out on the walk around. The contract specifically stated two coats of paint. The second day the windows were covered with plastic as well at the ground around the house. Then that was done, they started painting. I looked at the walls and noticed dark spots showing through the paint. I called Vadim to talk about the quality of the paint job but he never returned my call so I called a number to connect with his brother Mark who put me in touch with the owner Slovic. He came out and I showed him the spots that showed through the paint. I asked him if two coats had been applied and was told yes. They left nails sticking out that had no purpose, staples, and an attached string on the house when they painted. The prep work was very limited. The peeling paint was just painted over rather than being scraped and sanded. I have green cob webs under the eaves where it was not pressure washed. My neighbors watched them paint and told me they only painted one coat -- which I suspected. They did follow up and did some hand painting where it was obvious that one coat did not cover after I pointed it out. The calking was never done. If I had not contacted them about the sparse paint they would have left it as it was. I even got out there after having to purchase another gallon of paint. My neighbor said the only part that got two coats was the door -- which looks great. I am angry because they lied about two coats of paint when they promised it in the contract. There were holes over the garage door facia probably from Christmas lights that were not filled in. No second coat and almost no prep work are inexcusable. So I will be spending time this summer putting on that second coat myself. The crew did not speak english which made it difficult to communicate. Though everyone was pleasant, I would not recommend this company. read more
