I hired A&I's Painting Services Co. to paint the exterior of our 2-story home in Shoreline, WA. Jorge, the owner, provided the estimate, he was on-time, professional, answered all my questions and provided a reasonable estimate (I got several). Three days after pressure-washing the house, they started prep work, taping the windows & around fixtures, removing the downspouts, scraping off old caulking, etc. The following day painting began. Due to some rain, the job was completed 1 day later than estimated, but they did what they could. The job took 1/2 day for pressure washing and 5 days to prep and paint. The crew was great, arriving early or on time each day and really working hard making sure they did everything properly. They even put back big potted plants that had to be moved, which I really appreciated. Jorge came by the work site each day to make sure things were going smoothly and answer any questions I had. There are a lot of painters out there, so choose carefully, choose A&I's Painting! I will hire them again for sure! read more

Jorge was prompt on all occasions and easy to work with, he helped us figure out the best spots to get within our budget and was timely with his quote and scheduling. Was flexible with our tight timeline as well. Team painting was early that morning and knowing we had a sleeping baby politely waited out front without bothering us so they wouldn't disturb the baby. The work was extremely conscientious and the guys were cheerful and polite - a pleasure to have around. I've been thinking about what to say in this review for a couple of months. Overall, the work was fine. But it was expensive: $14,000 for 6 rooms + 2 bathrooms, with a few different colors of paint and finishes (flat and eggshell). Good: the painting was mostly well done, except for a few really sloppy things that were hard to catch in a quick walkthrough. The prep work (taping and covering floors etc) was excellent. The not so good: - I felt very "managed" by Jorge. Whenever there was an issue, he'd drop by and smooth it all over -- sometimes shit talking his own crew, which rubbed me the wrong way. - We initially had agreed on the paint grades to use, and then they just kept lowering the grade. I wanted Aura, they bought Ultra Spec. I wanted one thing for the built-ins and trim, they did Scuff-X. It felt like every time I turned around they were cheating me to increase their profit margin, and then Jorge would come by and schmooze and tell me that none of it mattered. - When there was an issue with the color, nobody flagged it, they just kept going -- right next to a large reference sample on the wall. - We had to live in our home while it was being painted. They asked if they could prep in advance of starting because another job finished early. If they tell you this, politely decline. We dealt with very hot weather and no AC for 3 days just to make things slightly more convenient for them. - We had prepped our house amazingly well for them -- everything off the walls, all furniture in the middle of the room. They rearranged how we had done the furniture without consulting us and we are still finding damage from how ignorantly it was done. They treated it like Ikea furniture. - I found paint inside a bedroom drawer that had no reason to be opened, and closets that didn't need to be opened were opened. Some days we'd have 4 guys inside for 8 hours and it looked like literally nothing was done. Then they suddenly did a ton in the last 3 days, pushing me to rush through decisions that could have been flagged much earlier. - They taped over our digital light switches so hard that all of the buttons were pressed down for a week and multiple switches no longer work. - The closet doors they re hung after removing them were re hung incorrectly. (I am 5'4" with a spine injury, and I redid it them properly by myself.) Overall I felt a sketchy vibe that has lingered with me, particularly as I am still trying to find things that shouldn't have been moved, and finding damage. My partner was much less generous and more weirded out. If you do go with them, don't let them push you around or cheap out on the materials. Stop work completely if you have to. Monitor them closely even if you feel like you're being rude. Don't give them privacy to mess with your stuff. Don't let Jorge push you into saying you're ok with things that aren't what was agreed. I regret being so nice and accommodating. read more

We had A&I's do a full interior painting of our 2000 sq ft rental property in between tenants. We manage the property remotely so we initially did a virtual walkthrough for the estimate with Jorge. Jorge was very responsive, friendly and easy to communicate with. His team completed the work according to their estimated time frame and there were no surprise charges. They even let me hire them to collect and haul away a bunch of surprise junk that our previous tenants had left behind. This was super helpful and I would say they went above and beyond and provided excellent customer service. Plus, the photos from the completed job look super good. A & I's painting was a great experience for us, and we are SUPER happy with our new exterior paint job. We went from boring ugly beige to a pretty Rosemary color with white trim and black garage doors. The team was efficient, easy to book, answered all our questions well, and they were very polite. They had great tact, and always let us know if weather might get in the way of the work, and had awesome communication when the project timeline needed shifting due to weather so the outcome would be perfect. We are excited to say that even during the heat wave this year, the new paint held up perfectly. We've received many compliments and will always call these guys anytime we need a paint job. I feel so lucky to have been able to work with Jorge and his team of painters. The team is kind, patient, and amazingly talented at painting. We were we renovating our whole house and they were able to paint our entire project both interior and exterior in a few different sessions. Pricing is in line with current rates for labor and materials and end result is well worth hiring professionals. I used these guys for both drywall repair and new insulation. The old drywall was in really bad shape and I didn't think anyone would be able to fix it but they did. We also had areas of new drywall that needed to be matched up against some textured old drywall and they managed to make it look seamless. I was so happy I hired them to even paint it. Jorge and his team are fantastic, the quality of their work is top notch. We have done multiple projects with them and their eye for detail is great. After the job was complete they did an additional pass through to look for imperfections and fix areas that I noticed needed minor touch-ups. They put so much care into replacing some of the wood planks that needed replacing and made sure the house was prepped just right before the painting process.
