Primal Decor is the best place I've come across to get piercings. They are members of APP and adhere to safe piercing practices. I have been pierced by Jason and Jennifer a total of 16 times and they have all turned out beautifully. The shop is always clean, the staff very friendly and helpful. I moved 700 miles away 5 years ago, but still return to Primal Decor for all my piercing needs. I have brought friends and family members here and would recommend it to everyone. read more

Oh my sweet, sweet, primal decor. I'm leaving the area soon and I must say this is the one place I'm genuinely sad to leave behind. I have nothing but FANTASTIC things to say about this business and the entire staff that works there. I've been coming here for three years for all my piercing needs and I am beyond impressed with every aspect of my experience every single time. The shop is extremely clean, the jewelry selections are out of this world, the staff is SOOO friendly and knowledgeable. And my piercings come out amazing every time. The owner, Jenifer works extremely hard to keep the shop evolving and improving. This is the spot for all your body mod desires! I will miss you all! read more

I love this place! I've been in twice for cartilage piercings, and came away oh-so-happy both times. Jennifer (the main) and Tiffany (the apprentice) are awesome. The shop is super clean, as are their procedures. Obviously, they have the sealed and sterile piercing kits, but there is more! Tiffany moved a strand of her hair after she had prepped her hands, and proceeded to re-wash and re-glove. They give you the brand new pen they used to mark your ear so you know that EVERYTHING is clean. They are super friendly, super knowledgeable, and really do look after your best interests. Don't go anywhere else for a piercing. I got my first one here when I still lived in the area, but I made a trip from the Bay Area for my second one. read more

Absolutely love Primal! I got my nipple piercings done here by Jennifer and she is such a sweetheart. I was very nervous at first but she did everything she can to calm me down and made me comfortable. The jewelry section has a variety of beautiful choices. Just everything about this place is great. Some people complain about the prices but honestly it is worth your money for a clean environment, nice employees, REAL jewelry and a great experience. I definitely will be going again within my years up here in Humboldt County! read more

This summer I was visiting in Humboldt and lost an earring. I called Primal Decor and was given an appointment to come in the same day. Valente helped me pick a gem that would go with the rest of my earrings. I live in Oregon and have frequented the same studio for many years, due to the quality of work and jewelry, cleanliness of the studio, and friendly owner and staff. I could see some of the same brands at Primal Decor, and felt like it would get a "10 rating" or AAA++++ as I feel my local studio rates! I have family in Humboldt, so when visiting, will always go to Primal if I need any piercing or tattoo services! I read an April review stating someone had smelly piercings a couple months later and implied that Primal's jewelry was the cause. I have 37 piercings (36 earrings when I arrived), and Valente knew who manufactured many of my piercings, and I had him use Industrial Strength to replace the missing one. Unless "Olivia from April '19 review" had a very rare allergy, I cannot imagine any of Primal Decor's jewelry caused it. read more

I first got pierced here four years ago. While it was a fine experience then, I went back today to get larger gauge jewelry put in, and the place has gotten even better. In addition to being a lovely space and sparkling clean, and the staff being genuinely nice and helpful, my experience with Valente was great. He's very knowledgeable, careful, and again, really nice. While talking with him, we discussed the next tattoo I hope to get (a full sleeve). So he arranged for me to consult with Dan while I was there. Dan was very interested in my ideas and his work looks amazing, especially his birds, which is what I want for my sleeve. So I will definitely be getting that tattoo from him. This place is all class, zero attitude, and professional. Very impressed. read more

"Okay, I learned my lesson. Always come back to Primal Decor!" I got my tragus pierced in Colorado in March 2013, then received a Primal Decor gift certificate from my Secret Santa to be used during our Christmas trip to see family in Arcata. I got my nose pierced by Primal Decor about 6 1/2 years ago and since that day, I have always been a fan. BUT, we live in Colorado, so I got my tragus pierced there. Bad idea. I went to Primal Decor to get a new piece of jewelry, when Jenn (one "n" or two?) said that it wasn't a piercing that would hold up forever. It was pierced too shallow and since my tragus' are so tiny, she recommended taking it out. She was insistent on my safety first--not the look of the piece. I can seriously respect that as any day from now, I would have just ripped it out on accident. Jenn saved me 1. excruciating pain, and 2. wasted jewelry. For this I am appreciative. But my story doesn't end there. She raved about my ears and how amazing they were. She started saying how she could do something else, like a daith, rook, or industrial. I felt special as somehow my ears were a piercer's dream. Since I had my gift card, I figured, "why not!" Now I feel terrible because the nice woman who also pierces, whose name I totally forgot...well, she was just as amazing. She said that when we lose one, we must get another! Okay, let's do it! I went with the daith. The store is exceptionally clean and every tool goes through the autoclave process. My piercer even said, "I'm going to get my tools from the autoclave." By this time, I was sweating in my shoes! Ha! The piercing went perfectly fine. It did hurt, but I had no nervousness the entire time. The girls totally calmed me down and expressed how exciting the experience was going to be. I am also appreciative of this as my piercer in Colorado hardly talked to me. I should have walked away. After the piercing, I learned a few lessons: 1. Always come to Primal Decor. 2. The Jewelry they have is STUNNING. I've never seen any other pieces more beautiful than theirs. 3. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and considerate. You are their first priority. 4. The site is SUPER clean...like super clean. 5. Always come to Primal Decor. read more

I love this place. Luis has done both of my tattoos. He did my first one and fixed my second one I got done elsewhere free of charge. He does quality work! read more

This place is the best! Professional and cool. Clean, reputable, friendly. Luis is a genius! He made my idea into reality. Beautiful tattoo work. I got a helix piercing today. Pretty cool place, very clean and sanitary. My piercing was made by a pretty chill girl, I think her name's Danielle. She knows so much about what she does, she answered every single question I had. She made me feel so relaxed and comfortable about the whole process of piercing my ear (I'm a big ass cry baby). Over all I liked everything about the place and two other friends got pierced too! Worth it :) read more

Great tattoo & piercing! Highly professional. Clean. Great group of people!! I've been tattoo'd here several times & pierced here. Been pierced at another shop in Eureka...big mistake, this should be the only place you go to get pierced in Humboldt County!!! read more

I went to Primal Decor today for a bit of advice on a cartilage piercing that was giving me trouble and the girl behind the counter provided excellent service and advise. She also gave me a small bag of sea salt to help me start getting my healing process back in control. I have every intention of getting more piercings when this one has healed up and this is the place I would trust to do the job. On a side note I was noticing their selection of jewelry as I was in the lobby and it looks very cute and of high quality! read more

"It's never too late to have a happy childhood!" ... so why not. I went in for a pierced earring. I'm an ancient geezer. The store is neat, clean and the staff are most friendly. Xochi pierced my ear lobe and filled me in on proper aftercare. The attention to sterilization was impressive and thorough. Xochi is a pro ... hardly felt a thing. Highly recommend. read more

This is the only place I will go to get a piercing. They are clean and sanitary and extremely knowledgable. Everyone who works here is amazing at what they do and they have always been friendly to me, whether I'm in to get a piercing or replace a piece of jewelry. It is definitely out of my way but it is the best place in humboldt and it's worth it read more

I recently had my septum pierced by Valente. The shop is super clean, well lit, and their jewelry selection is tip top! The staff was very welcoming and pleasant from start to finish. Valente was very clear and communicative with what to expect and what he was doing. I felt very comfortable in the space and recommend this shop to my friends in and out of the area. I am very happy with my new piercing and glad I waited to get it done at this shop. read more

I've gotten my nose and tragus pierced here and I love this shop! I've been to two other piercing studios that just don't even come close to Primal Decor. The staff is super friendly and easy to talk to an I've always felt extremely comfortable while I'm there. The shop is really clean and they are very up front and clear about their prices which I've found is not always the case at other shops. I definitely recommend going here for any piercings! Jen and Danielle are both fantastic! read more

We took our 5-year-old to Jennifer to have her ears pierced & it was a wonderful experience! Jennifer is very careful about making sure the *child* is making this decision & explaining *everything* before you make an appointment to actually have the piercing done. We were treated wonderfully & respectfully & enjoyed our time at Primal Decor! read more

First time at Primal Decor with a cartilage piercing by Jennifer. She was very informative of the process start to finish. They follow a very strict protocol for cleanliness and sterilization of "tools" and jewelry. Jennifer was very relaxed which made my experience very comfortable. The other staff members that I dealt with were also very nice and informative and helpful. The intern who was shadowing ( sorry, I've forgotten your name) was very nice and excited to be a part of the Primal team which also helped my overall experience. Pricing for labor and jewelry is good too! Thanks Primal Decor! I'm very happy with my piercing! read more

I had an amazing experience at Primal Decor I would definitely recommend this place to anyone trying to get a septum or any for that matter. The girls in the front were really nice, they were all excited for my septum and informed me about the piercing pricing and the jewelry as well. Valente explained the procedure to me and about aftercare for the piercing. Also gave me a little goody bag with instructions on aftercare and a few other things. Valente was really friendly towards me and my bf he made small talk which was helpful because it eased my nerves. I am completely satisfied with my septum I love how it looks! read more

Primal Decor - Satisfied customer, I absolutely love my septum - Tattoo Near Me - Eureka, California

I wanted to leave an updated review from my new Yelp account for my beloved Primal Decor and favorite tattoo artist on the planet, Dan. I've been going to Dan for about 10 years now and I'll never let anyone else tattoo me. He's an amazing artist, incredible human being and does such fantastic work. I've moved to LA but I STILL travel up to Humboldt just to see Dan! Thanks gang!!! read more

Excellent customer service and experience! Jennifer is an expert piercer and I couldn't be more pleased.

Absolutely LOVE this shop. I've had two tattoos and a nostril piercing done here, and couldn't be happier with the results. Everyone who works here is very knowledgeable and they all go out of their way to make customers feel welcome and safe. Their practice is very clean and artistic, and doesn't have the sketchy/sleazy feel that some tattoo shops have. Both tattoos I have were done by Dan, who did an amazing job. Overall, 10/10 recommend Primal Decor. If you need any tattoos or piercings in humboldt county, this is the place to go! read more

Such an awesome place! I love to give recognition to businesses like these who really care for their customers. I wanted to get my navel re pierced and asked a tonnn of questions! I was helped throughout the whole way and I really recommend this place. Thank you so much again! read more

A friend of mine and I came here to get our first cartilage piercing, and I can say that it met all of our expectations and then some. The staff were friendly from the moment we walked in (we had an appointment). The decor was also extremely pleasing, and comfortable to be in as we filled out the paperwork. Our piercer was Valente, and he made the overall experience extremely enjoyable. Not only did he (and other staff!) walk us through exactly what he was going to do, from sterilization to the actual piercing, but he chatted casually with us the entire time. I went in very nervous, but came out extremely happy! I'll definitely be going back to Primal Decor for any future piercings. read more

Primal is the Pussy's P.J's! Moved up here 3 years ago and started seeking out who would be my next tattoo artist. Via word of mouth and a lot of work done on friends I ended up at Primal. Dan Dozer is a super talented mega prince of all things art, ink and fabulousness. The place is spotlessly clean, I would lick the floor, but they wouldn't let me because they are sanitary nazis. They have the most incredible selection of jewelry I have ever been exposed to. It is expensive, but guess what QUALITY IS EXPENSIVE. This is true artistry going on. The working folks down there are also fabulous! Love shooting the sh*t with the ladies and have always been treated with kindness and respect. Honest, they're not even paying me to write this! read more

Came here yesterday to get my nose pierced after reading all the good reviews-AWESOME! If you're looking for a place to get great tattoos/piercings-this is the spot! Walked in, and the guy at the front counter was super friendly and started to tell me the pros and cons of the jewelry I wanted. The lady who pierced my nose was SO nice and obviously very knowledgable about the piercing/s, & told me how to care for it properly. Not too expensive, and the Jewelry is very high quality. The labor and nose hoop was $56, not too bad especially for great service, friendly people and sturdy jewelry. I HIGHLY recommend Primal Decor :) read more

Honestly, the staff was amazing. The second I walked in the door they welcomed me with a warm smile. They carried conversation and definitely made sure you felt comfortable while being there. I went in with my friend because she wanted some piercings. I wasn't getting anything done, but I did want to get my nipple piercings looked at because they have been irritated. Jennifer was extremely friendly when I approached her about checking my piercings! She changed out my barbells, and was a total pleasure to be around. Definitely would suggest this place to anyone. read more

I got my second lobes pierced by Jennifer. She and the rest of the staff were absolutely wonderful! The parlor was spotless and everything that came into contact with my ears was sealed and sterile. My piercings still look great, almost a year later. read more

This place is awesome! I'm from the Bay area where there is so much diversity when it comes to tattoo shops so I was a little hesitant walking in but I couldn't be happier with my tattoo. It is definitely my favorite now. The staff is super friendly and the whole place is super homey and comfortable. Luis was awesome in designing my tattoo and working with me to get exactly what I wanted. I couldn't be happier and I will definitely be coming back for more. Will recommend every time! Thank you Primal! read more

well i wouldn't really call this a review i guess it is more like a question. I was wondering how much a regular nostril piercing would be with a hoop ring? read more

Kind, cool and completely capable, Primal Decor is a place which really takes care of its customers. After my daughter had a piercing gone wrong (at a different store-- don't worry!) I feared that I would have to take dramatic action. Luckily we looked up this local tattoo and piercing shop for a second opinion, and boy am I glad I did! Taken into one of their back rooms they re-pierced her ear and gave her better advice then any medical professional as well as provided kindness and encouragement. Days later my daughter's ear is fully healed! (And the piercing looks pretty neat, too!) Totally competent and professional, I'll recommend Primal Decor to anyone! read more
