My sister and I attended an event at Jolene winery which is right behind the pizza location. We both were very hungry and there isn't much located in the area. We both were going separate ways after so pizza sounded like a good idea. Prima is a smaller pizza joint. No frills or gimmicks what you see is what you get. The staff was very friendly and we were promptly seated. My gluten free pizza came out on an aluminum pan on top of the pizza pan to avoid cross contact. We both enjoyed our pizza, nothing to write home about but it curbed our hunger. Our bill came out to $31 as we both had waters to drink. There were a lot of individuals coming in and out for takeout orders a d they all seemed to be ready in a timely manner. read more

Yes there is a surcharge to use the machine if paying by card. But this is a SMALL business and not a franchise! Yes the prices of food can seem high in certain areas but you can get a whole meal at a shitty place like McDonald's and pay about the same price!!! My gal friends and I visited the winery located behind the shopping strip where this restaurant is. We all ordered together on their website and a couple of us walked over to grab the food. The to-go order wasn't ready when we got there, but was ready shortly after the ready time. The restaurant was pretty busy inside with people coming and going. Lots of orders! It was also hot as blazes in there. Glad we didn't eat in! I ate the grilled chicken salad, which had some of the best house vinaigrette I've ever had! The chicken was a little done, but tasted good and the rest of the salad was nice and fresh! The chicken tenders were surprisingly good! Not the chunky crispy batter I'm used to seeing. I didn't try the fried ravioli or the vegetable pizza, but the rest of my group really enjoyed them. Especially the pizza. Prima was just the ticket we were craving! On our way home from Williamsburg, we were all hankering for Italian! We pulled into this little strip mall and we're pleased as punch to find Prima Pizza open and so welcoming! We nestled in our booth and the server was super attentive and accommodating. My brother ordered the spaghetti... you can't get more Italian than that! He said it was so good, and it came with a side salad and a basket of crusty, hot Italian bread! My sis got the Italian sub, full of cold cuts, cheese and crisp veggies with a nice Italian dressing! Hubby got the pepperoni and sausage pizza, perfect dough - not too thin or thick! Perfect slice of life! I chose the Philly cheesesteak which was piled high with tender beef, gooey cheese and onions! Mmm, I devoured every bite of that sub! The bread was fresh and didn't overpower the ingredients! We were all satisfied and happy with our meals and the prices were decent! The service was fast and friendly! The atmosphere was typical of an Italian restaurant, and it was clean and followed Covid protocol. I would definitely stop here again to try other dishes on their extensive menu! How to make sure customers for over 20yrs stop being your patrons! Moved to Brickshire from 5 Lakes 4 years ago and still try to eat at our favorite Pizza place at least once a month. Ordered 3 Pizzas and sandwich and fries. 2 large Pepperoni Pizzas were noted to be cheese when we got back to the house. Called and drive all the way back to get pepperoni pizzas.....things happen, should have checked the pizzas before I left. When I picked up the pepperoni pizzas, they wouldn't let me have them until I paid for the pepperoni. After a $10 carry out tip from initial pickup! You have lost a patron! Primas pizza is delicious and has been here in New Kent Va as one of the original local favorites since I can remember back in the 90s. The people are so kind and aim to please. The food is tasty and they try to accommodate when they can such as my grilled chicken salad with double mozzarella baked on top. My husband loves their Italian subs and pan pizza and my mom enjoys their steak and cheese subs and salads So good!. Oh and a favorite spot for my son and I to meet for lunch we enjoy sitting by the window so we can see the lake and watch the ducks. June 26, 2018 After running a handful of errands, I decided to try PP once more. Mid-afternoon on a Tuesday; the store was very quiet. An employee had just posted the day's specials; the one that caught my eye was "Medium Pizza, 3 toppings, $10." I'm in. But first I asked, "Are your mushrooms canned or fresh?" Fresh. Good answer! So make my medium pizza with Pepperoni, Green Pepper, & Mushrooms. I also ordered a Club Sub (small) and a slice of Carrot Cake. At home I started with the Club Sub. It's good. It needed additional salt & mayo. I ate half then and half this morning. Next, pizza. Very, very good, and the sole reason for upgrading my previous 2 stars to 3 stars. I'm still enjoying it. After eating a slice or two of pizza, I ate the Carrot Cake. Good, but not exciting. I suspect the store purchased their Carrot Cake from the same purveyor that they get their Tiramisu from. We discovered Prima in August and pick up pizzas weekly .Pizzas been great- service has been great. That was until yesterday. We were out and about running errands in Richmond. I placed an online pickup order at 12:21- knowing we were about 20 minutes away from the restaurant. Got to the restaurant around 12:40 to pick up food and was told it would be a bit longer- No worries. They were not filled to capacity and there were 2 servers standing around talking to customers. After about 5 minutes one of the servers shouts from behind the counter Look -Your orders going to be about 20 more minutes you just placed it 5 minutes ago- I responded no I placed it over 20 minutes ago online and she essentially told me I was a liar. Regardless of whether I placed it 5 minutes ago or and hour ago Why take that tone with me? Try to argue over a time order was placed ? What's the point. Had I done something wrong patronizing their business. Was she upset that I had taken her away from her downtime?It was pure ridiculousness. I walked outside because I was a little dumbfounded. I went back in and the other server walked and returned with my order- that according to them I had placed 5 minutes prior . I thanked her but let the surly waitress know that I frequented the restaurant often and I did not appreciate the tone she used with me. To which her response was I've worked here for 2 years and I've never seen your ass so your lying,bye bitch. We were on a good run enjoyed our weekly pizzas and subs- but our relationship with Primas has ended.I know that our current society finds it acceptable to treat people however you choose with no repercussions but I refuse to fall in line with the status quo. I ordered food a week ago and it was incorrect so I called back and was told they'd remake it for me another day. I called up there today and automatically they had an attitude and didn't want to do what they promised the week before. The owner told me He didn't have time for this and hung up on me. I called back to talk to someone else and she proceeded to go "talk" to the owner and I heard her actually talking to what it seemed like as a guest about what came in a dish they were asking about. And then got back on the phone with an attitude when I asked for the food I had originally paid for and told me I should have brought it back in the night of. No one told me to do that the previous week. I work in the food industry myself, I know it's dinner rush but that's no reason or excuse to treat your guests that way because you have your hands full with other things. If I had talked to guest like that at my job I would've been fired. The female boss that I normally deal with when I go in there is very kind. She should be in charge and he needs to step aside because he obviously can't take the pressure of dinner rush and dealing with guests in a polite manner. He should be ashamed of himself for letting his workers talk to guests that way as well. Don't go here if you want to be respected! read more

My wife and I were traveling through New Kent and ordered food to go at 6:00 PM. We got the kid's lasagna, an Italian sub with everything, and a club without ham, and with only lettuce and mayonnaise. When we arrived it was packed, but our food was ready. The food was delicious, but our experience loses points because the cashier shouted profanity due to a bathroom door getting stuck and my wife's Club sub coming with tomatoes and lettuce instead of mayo and lettuce. Ok, so I've tried this place probably 4 times now. I tried 3 different pasta dishes and I would say they were all pretty inedible, including fettuccine alfredo that I could barely eat any of it was so terrible. I had another tortellini dish that I remember pretty much all went into the trash. Here's the thing though, their pizza is really good. Probably the best in the area (that's probably only out of 3 other places but still). So lesson learned, avoid all pasta dishes & order pizza. While on the topic of ordering make sure you get delivery or order it for pick up because the service has always been pretty bad for me too. I think they've lasted so long just because there aren't a whole lot of other options. I wish I liked this place but I just can't bring myself to endorse it. A very unassuming place , nothing special looking from the outside. But there is a surprise here. Like any true assassin , it's very unassuming but they have the best pizza I in central Virginia. This is the best pizza in the richmond area. And they still know that a large pizza is 16" and not 14" for a large price. Domino's, Pizza Hut and Papa John's should take notes on how to make a quality LARGE pizza. Sandwiches are also great here as well. I would recommend it if your going east of Richmond. read more
