Install smoke detectors (Nest) Matt's team was great! Everything was installed perfectly and the team spent time to make sure everything was working as we liked. We did encounter some issues, however, Matt had his team work with us to correct them as we encountered them (i.e. faulty pre-wire causing false-positives on the alarm). I have to give a special shout out to Keith. He installed every single TV in the house to perfection. I was really looking forward to a beautiful flush mount install of our TVs in every room (especially the living, game, and media rooms) and he delivered. DT Security's Danny and his installer Angel are excellent. We'd been with ADT/Brinks for 37 years…read more Our current system had been hard wired into the home we built in 2002. Its notices went out on a landline via Spectrum. Spectrum was out so much lately, (actually constantly), our system kept notifying that it'd lost communication waking us every morning between 3 and 5 am. We did not know dropped communication was the error. ADT did not know what the error code was. We attempted to resolve the issue over a 2-3 week period with ADT, including a 45 troubleshooting time after pushing ADT's AI to get a human tech. The tech could not even find what our error code meant. He could not resolve the issue, but wanted to install a new system with all new equipment. A second ADT tech the next day had me show a pic of our control panel and she immediately looked up the error code and it was dropped communication. She too wanted to take everything out of our system and start over. The estimates for two ADT sources were off by several hundred dollars. I was told the less expensive one was not correct even though it had a price guarantee until August 28. I was fed up. I went to AI. It said pull the AC plug on the system, it tends to hang on to error cords. Thank you! That stopped the beeps. We went through one more episode with corporate ADT and ended more frustrated. I looked for top home security system installers in the Bastrop area and DT Security (Round Rock) was on top in Yelp. I called and instantly reached Danny. He took us through their whole process, including taking advantage of the well installed original sensors. We reviewed Danny's contract. Our system would still use ADT (DT Security is a licensed ADT installer). The very next afternoon DT Security's installer Angel, upgraded our system to cellular, attached all the trip circuits we had, added new equipment when necessary and was done in 3.35 hours with everything working perfectly. Angel first met with my wife Chris and I, explaining everything in detail he was going to do. He was very considerate of our time and kept us informed through out the install. This morning I had a question and sent Danny an email. He called me within an hour and walked me through something I'd missed. So no 30 minute holds on the phone, no AI to negotiate with, no being passed from tech to tech, just good solid "local" services. After dealing with ADT for weeks, this was certainly a breath of fresh air and excellent service. This was a strong reminder to deal locally.

Update: True Protection is a separate company from Brinks…read more True Protection is top notch in customer service and will set you up properly and resolve any problems. You won't find a more helpful, personable group of folks to work with. However, Brinks is an awful company. We paid way too much for Brinks monitoring and equipment. 5 stars for True Protection; 0 stars for Brinks. Ask True Protection to not use Brinks for monitoring your system.

Updated: the system is broken AGAIN, had a technician no call no show today…read more They remain garbage Absolutely a nightmare from start to finish. The initial sales call went super well, they got out to replace our vivint system within a week which is where the problems started. It took them no less than EIGHT TRIPS to finally get the initial install finished, and each tech they sent badmouthed the work done by the other techs, and management was utterly clueless and absolutely incompetent. The install work was incredibly sloppy, and we had to have painters out to repair all teh damage they did to our walls. They used a weird hodge podge of equipment and software, and we remain deeply unsatisfied. AVOID like the plague.

Patrick answered when I called for service. It was down to Central Security and another home security company. Patrick explained everything to me and answered all of my questions. I was very appreciative of this because this was my first time owning a home security alarm system. I really love that since this would be my first time, there's no contact. I love that they believe in earning your business instead of being nice upfront and then not having to work to keep your business, because you're trapped in a contract. I signed up with Central Security and paid for my equipment upfront and my cameras. I just pay monthly for the active monitoring. One time after I was approached by another company a few momths after I been with Central Security, I called Patrick and let him know and he let me know he value my business and gave me a fair renegotiation on my monthly fee. The next month I bought another camera and has then install it. I'm also happy to report that the alarm does work I had a false alarm when I was away in away on a windy night and the wind push a an unlocked door open. The police ended showing up and the security center did call. Unfortunately I was sleeping at the time, but it was reassuring to know that the system really does work! I highly recommend Central Security. I've had excellent service, when they came to install the system they were punctual professional and fairly quick.
