I stood in line for 5 minutes waiting to check in (early morning on 12/3/25) while he just looked at me and then purposely ignored me, not saying one word for 5 minutes while he typed away on his computer. No acknowledgment, no nothing. (Mind you there were no other patients at the office) I still patiently waited and finally a very kind woman came from the back asked the man what was going on, he shrugged his shoulders and she very kindly apologized on his behalf. Stephanie and the rest of the team at pride pharmacy are great and will go above and beyond every effort to make sure all prescriptions are ordered and received on time, if not earlier. Thank you! Unfortunately, scheduling of delivery can be a hit or miss. They use a third party delivery company. That is where my issue happens. The announced ETA for the delivery is almost never the actual time of arrival. For example, I have been told "we informed the delivery driver to deliver after 1pm. So please be home at 1pm." Today they arrived banging on my door at 10am. I was amidst an important proctored video final exam for school that I could not step away from. I am an online college-student. If a disturbance happens, I would have to stop the entire exam and reschedule. I have two dogs that go wild at the sound of the door being knocked. The delivery person would not stop banging my door. This is not the first time. The last time the delivery person screamed at me from behind the security gate, "I have all your medications, open this gate, I can't open it!" First of all, privacy please regarding delivery of prescriptions. Second, code to gate is provided, and third, delivery is 5 hours early." It is easy to appreciate an early delivery. However, an agreed schedule of delivery is important for people like me who actually have a schedule to follow . Again, Pride Pharmacy and its staff alone are amazing. The pharmacist on duty on March 3rd 2022, apparently does not know what she is doing. I was able to pick up the prescription for my partner and I asked a simple question: he can take the medicine before or after the meal. She refused to tell me the information, using patient privacy act as she so called validate reason. Instead, she can only disclose the information to patient him or herself. After I consult a numerous Pharmacist managers cross San Diego county, RITE Aid and CVS, the feedback is what Pride Pharmacy's pharmacist's response to me was strange and unreasonable. I fully support patient privacy act, but as a pharmacy manager ( she told me via 2nd call, she is a manager ) you have to evaluate what type of questions were asked. The question I asked was a simple counseling question. They way she handled this situation indicates an inefficient operating process. We want to support local small business, but the way she handled this small piece of information request was inadequate. I'm not surprised this pharmacy only has 3.5 star review. If the owner of Pride Pharmacy care about customer feedback. Please make sure your internal management level is trained on how to conduct business in a more efficient way. read more

So let me preface this review by stating that the experience from my previous pharmacy after being swallowed up by another chain was less than stellar which is an understatement. However, I'm basing my experience on my initial encounter with my new pharmacy. First, the establishment is clean, minimal decor, bright, pandemic ready, and conveniently located. The staff is friendly, seems serviceable, and knowledgeable. Now, I have an extensive list of medications that I take 4x a day, and thanks to the previous pharmacy I was left in the lurch (see previous review if interested). I had 2 days left of medication and I use the pill pak service so it's a pretty tall order in a short period of time. However, they were able to pull it out in a little more than one day. Special shoutout to Lupe for putting up with me and getting it done. I really appreciate the effort as I was stressed out about what had transpired at the previous pharmacy days before. I look forward to what I hope is a relatively trouble-free relationship. One more thing which I won't deduct any stars given the excellent level of service provided. That candy section looks like it was ravaged by hoarders right after the pandemic hit. At least they left behind a box of peanut M&Ms...hehehe :0) read more

UPDATE - Be sure to call their main number (619) 501-5888 (not any of the numbers they call you from like 619-876-5322) or you will go straight to their voicemail and they will not call you back. I am still annoyed that they never called me back when I left a couple messages on the 5322 line. I had to drive over there to get through to them. I was pretty frustrated, annoyed and angry, but John was so happy and nice I could not bear to be mean to him. And I know it was not his fault. I changed from One Star to Three Stars because of John that works there behind the counter. PREVIOUS REVIEW BELOW I have called Pride Pharmacy five (5) times in the last 3 days during business hours. Zero stars should be an option. I called in my order yesterday morning. When I arrived today they first said they didn't have my order, which already upset me. Since I placed the order at 9am the morning before. They where wrong, apparently they are just disorganized and said they did have my order when I asked them to clarify and they checked their records again. They actually did have the order placed. However they only processed 1/2 of my order. I had to call my doctors office, who said they never received the order at all. I checked back with Pride, they gave me some nonsensical excuses. They said they would fill my order, I returned later roughly 5 hours later and they said that they couldn't fill my order because they ran out. I'm now 2 days off of my medication, which luckily for me isn't life threatening, but this does dramatically effect my health. I have a deficiency that unfortunately because of what I'm prescribed causes me to have an extreme amount of exhaustion. They are beyond disorganized and I can not understand how they can be so blatantly lazy about it. This should have been fixed yesterday. If they where that low they should know their inventory and keep their shelves properly stiUnfortunately there are very few pharmacies that carry my particular prescription and I understand that makes it even more difficult to get. I would rather not go back to them if that was a realistic option for me. Unfortunately I do not have that as a choice. Well here's an update. I finally got my order filled after 3 days. It was not filled correctly, rather than getting the 10ml bottle that I am prescribed they gave me two 1ml bottles. They also did not get me my medicated shampoo I ordered. I now have a tube of medicated cream. Try washing your hair with that. You guys are the absolute worst. When I called to check my order yesterday their staff told me that I can shop elsewhere... No apology, no good reason other that nonsensical excuses that didn't add up. Just a plain we don't care, not our problem, we aren't responsible for anything we do wrong go shop elsewhere. I'd feel different if I hadn't worked retail for 6 years or if I didn't own my own business where customers count. Maybe I would be more understanding, but the reality is I can't comprehend the overall laziness and just plain incompetence of this place. read more

This is definitely the best pharmacy I've used. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. Lupe is AMAZING, nice, understanding, and listens to every concern. He will always make sure all your questions and concerns were addressed. I don't know what I would do without him! Pride Pharmacy is far from my house, so I called to transfer my prescriptions to a closer pharmacy near my house. Additionally, I don't have a six-hour window of time to be waiting around my house for a delivery, since they only deliver meds if someone is there to sign for them. I explained all of this, but Lupe tried to GUILT TRIP me, saying that it was "basically a slap in the face." He then proceeded to complain about how many hours that Pride spends on me and every other customer. S/he said that I was "not appreciative of them" due to the fact that I wanted to transfer my meds. Even though I was very polite and nice to him, he was very spiteful--he even hung up on me while I was midsentence! When I spoke with CVS, where I wanted to transfer my meds, the CVS pharmacist even commented about how rude and condescending Lupe was, since she had to talk to Lupe to transfer the meds. *** Do NOT believe that Pride is better at getting TARs or overrides than other pharmacies. I called to make sure it was ready for when they opened again and I still had to wait more than half an hour when I got there to get it filled. I for one am extremely happy and grateful for this pharmacy and especially Stephanie who helped me over the phone yesterday. My optomologist prescribed me an expensive eye drop that couldn't be substituted with anything else. This eye drop is normally $280 for a small bottle. I went to 3 different chain pharmacies and not a single pharmacy was able to apply any coupons that would bring it lower than $220. I finally called here and Stephanie took all of maybe 5 minutes and found a coupon from the manufacturer that brought the price down to $60!!!!!!!!! AND had it promptly delivered this morning!!! I am so thankful for her putting the time and caring to help. More reason to support private individual business as opposed to chain businesses who don't care. In preparing for cataract surgery I reached out to my allergist to ask about various medications that will be administered during the process. I was advised that skin tests could be administered and I could be seen on a Monday morning. In order to obtain samples of the medicines, Dr. John Bokosky's office suggested that I place an order with PRIDE PHARMACY as they deliver. The supervisor and staff at PRIDE were conscientious in filling the prescription promptly and communicated with me so that delivery could be assured prior to the testing. I was recently introduced to Pride Pharmacy, and, so far, it has been great! My Rx was for an expensive relatively new med, and the local Walmart wanted to charge me over $300 and were unable to utilize the coupon I gave them despite several attempts. The drug rep said that some people had good luck w/ Pride Pharmacy. They are about 45 minutes from me, but I tried them because I was told they deliver. It only cost me $50! Honestly, they could not have been more professional and efficient! Somehow, THEY were able to cut through the red tape that Walmart could not. The next day I received a voicemail checking on my customer service. They might need to work out a few glitches that I read people had for delivery, but really? THEY DELIVER! Talk about your old-fashioned service! You have to sign for the delivery, so you might need to figure out how to be there when they come, but they have delivered both my prescriptions very promptly after I ordered them. I would highly recommend Pride Pharmacy to others. Their customer service was above and beyond. read more

Great customer service! Sonal helped me find out if insurance covered a hard to find Rx. They were the only pharmacy in San Diego that could mix this particular Rx and she found out insurance covered it. Yay! I have been using Pride Pharmacy for a few months now and they are incredible. Their service is unmatched comparing them to any of the chain pharmacies or private pharmacies. They have always been there for me because I am on medication that I need to take consistently and they have never failed me making sure I have the medication I need when I need it. They have even had to deal with one of the worst insurance companies in existance and still deliver what I need. They have worked with them spending countless hours trying to get approvals and to get medications covered under the copays. My first job was working at our family owned pharmacy, so I know what to expect. This place gets 1 star for being clean, and one star for being in an excellent location with a fabulous name. Minus 1 for turning the lights on at 9am when you were supposed to be open, but not actually unlocking the door or responding to my knocking until 9:20. That was 20 minutes of discomfort that could have been avoided if I had just gone to a 24 hour chain. But no, I stood there waiting to support a small local business. Well maybe this is why big chains beat small local businesses in the consumer war. Cause when I asked for oral re-hydration salts, the pharmacist (?) had no idea what I was talking about. I found some pedialyte, which was not what I wanted. I noticed they have bleaching cream, which in my opinion is horrible cosmetic nonsense, but according to this pharmacist they do not have a very simple and necessary item that is even carried (it turns out) at Sprouts. Then I tried to pay. She didn't know how to use a debit card with the cash register. I had to walk her through it. Maybe it was her first day or she was a temp or something, but being polite while providing absolutely sub-standard service is not really acceptable. Hopefully she will receive some on-site training before her next shift, and someone else will take over stocking actual medicine to replace cosmetic poison. Good luck with that. This is the second month I have had to go without my Butrans patch on time, last time I went five days!!! For someone with chronic pain who relies on a transdermal hourly dose this is a lot of time spent miserable!!! These people have failed me from the get go.
