I googled my doctors name and that was the address that came up. No one had given me a different address. I let Google maps show me the way. Upon my arrival, the receptionist kindly told me I needed to go to the Bedford office. I asked her for the address and to please let them know I'm on my way. She stated she would and said I had plenty of time to make my appointment. Sweet lady!! Kind person!! As I'm driving on Hwy 121, more than half way there, I get a call stating my appointment has been canceled. I still had 8 minutes before my "arrival time". The receptionist further told me that the Dr has said for her to let me know my appointment has been canceled........ WHAT??. ... just WOW!!!! I explained to the woman on the phone I was 1already over half way there and still had 6 minutes before my arrival time.. She again stated she was told by the Doctor to cancel my NEW PATIENT appointment. I told her I would be writing a bad review for this practice and hung up, very upset. Not ONE person offered an apology to me NOR did they even ask me to reschedule. The only kind person I experienced, was the kind lady in Southlake. I then showed up at the office, just to take a picture of the same plaque i saw at the location in Southlake. the plaque hanging on the wall that specifically states: "The nature of our practice is to give our patients the upmost care and service. PLEASE EXCUSE ANY DELAYS. We will give you the same careful attention as soon as possiblle." THATS their mission statement for patients? Where is basic standard of care? Where was one moment of care or concern for me? I'm the NEW PATIENT, coming in with some sort of ailment. I had waited a good while, just to get this appointment. After taking a picture of the plaque I was asked why I was doing so and was told I couldn't take pictures in the office, nor of the staff. Guess what I did, I held my phone up and said snap,, snap,, snap.. I just wanted to irritate the lady who was talking to me. The staff member told me to leave, as I did so, I yelled out cough, cough, sneeze, sneeze. (Along with a few choice words for the incompetent staff. I said the F word. I would never, EVER even take a stray dog to this practice. This, by far, is the worst Doctor experience I've ever had. That being said, speaks a lot as I've beat cancer 3 times in the last 5 years. Dr. Frank Theilen is the best ENT Doctor and Surgeon and it took going through 4 doctors and 2 surgeons before I rolled into his office. Years of experience, compassion, empathy, knowledge, and gifted surgeon are just a few word to describe his skills. I could go on but you get the picture. For any ENT needs, know you are in the right place. He is affiliated with Baylor, Scott, White so it's great that he is in the same network as many of my other doctors.

During visits, Dr. Leon seems SO busy or over booked (or just does not care), doesn't know which pt he is seeing, who I am or why I am there. He does not take time to get to know you or educate you at all. For example, during my very first visit with Dr. Leon, he asked if I have "any pertinent family history" - the average person may not know what that means OR what is considered pertinent. My patch test came back posistive for items, including nickel. He asked if I eat a lot of canned food to which I replied "not really, well we have been eating a lot of tuna lately". He did not acknowledge that reply and moved onto his next question. Should I be avoiding tuna or other canned foods??? I guess I will never know. He asked many questions like this to which I replied yes, and he just moved onto the next question with no education or guidance. I asked him the best way to know if I am allergic to a products ingredient if that item was not included in the patch test, to which he replied very odd - giving me a non answer and just telling me to scan my products in the allergy app. Ok, well if we dont test for X, the app will say I am not allergic to X - so that does not help me. I asked him about 3 different, nice ways to which he replied "This is the gold standard and we do patch testing multiple times per week". Again, a non answer and he seemed almost offended that I would ask how I know if I am allergic to something or not that we do not test for. It was super weird so I dropped it. During my follow up with him, he walked into the room and asked ME to remind HIM what my "chief complaint is" bc he didn't take 30 sec to review my chart first. We were in the middle of talking, and after a few min he opens the laptop and says "Anne right?" as though he didn't know WHICH pt I was for sure and had to double check. At my follow up, I had to remind them I was also there for a nasal scope. Dr. Leon was supposed to send a medication to my pharmacy after my appt, that same day and did not. I had to follow up the next day to ask them to send it. Appts are very long, I am often put in a room and wait 45 min or more to be seen. I was also told I needed a sinus CT scan but they could not see me for 5 weeks! Insane. I explained I cannot wait that long and asked to be fit in that week, or send the order to an outside facility, so they did fit me in. I went in this week, Thurs 8/13 for the in office CT scan and waited in the lobby for 30 min. The front desk went to check on my wait time, and when she came back, I heard her tell her coworker that the main guy who does the scan was out that day and the girl covering was not monitoring the CT scan schedule. Great. I was told Dr. Leon would call me with the CT scan results (he reads them in the office), I was given option to wait for him to come talk to me about results in person that day while I was there or a phone call and chose a call because I needed to get back to work. It was implied and understood by me that he would call the same day, this was Thursday. Of course, he did not call me with the results. I sent a msg on the patient portal Thurs 8/13 evening asking them to call me Friday before the weekend as my symptoms were very uncomfortable and I am hoping to know results/treatment plan/meds etc before the weekend. At this point, it's been several weeks since I started coming here and we've tried two diff meds that have not helped. I still did not get a call before they closed Friday 8/14 for the weekend. Do not expect any bedside manner, education, answer to your questions, or prompt care here. During my first visit, Dr. Shakouri was very dismissive of the fact that my profession as an airline pilot strictly limits which medications I am allowed to take. Despite my repeated concerns and the FAA medication restrictions, he continued to push for a "large dose" of an allergy medication until I finally said, "I would rather not." I was later scheduled for allergy skin testing and a sinus CT scan. The front desk provided written instructions, which I followed exactly. Those instructions also clearly stated that I would be contacted in advance with pricing if my insurance did not cover the tests. That never happened. On the day of the appointment, I was unexpectedly told I owed $300 for the allergy testing (which I reluctantly agreed to) and $150 for the sinus CT scan (which I declined). I expressed my frustration to Dr. Shakouri, after which he issued a refund, and I chose to terminate care with this office. Overall, this was a very frustrating and unprofessional experience. Poor communication, disregard for occupational medical restrictions, and irresponsible front office practices. I now have to start the entire process over again elsewhere. I do not recommend this practice. EDIT: Just in case it gets deleted, Denise K (business owner) commented below: "It's sad patients can say anything they want on social media whether it's true or not" My response to Denise K. whom accurately proves my point about this allergy clinic: What's actually sad is dismissing legitimate patient concerns by implying they're untrue, rather than addressing them professionally. If any part of it were inaccurate, a respectful clarification would be appropriate -- not a blanket attempt to discredit patients for speaking publicly. The ER doctor diagnosed pancreatitis and prescribed pain meds and discharge. I rejected that diagnosis and waited for Dr. Caldwell to arrive. He got to the hospital about a half hour later and had a different diagnosis, a heart attack. A heart cath revealed a 99% blockage in the LAD and I had a triple bypass the next day. He literally saved my life. I cannot recommend Dr. Caldwell highly enough.
