I have been to Foothills a number of time and it never disappoints. I will say, it's not…read moremind-blowing, but the food is consistent, the beer is good, and the atmosphere is level (ie not super welcoming, not unwelcoming, but neutral). The service is typically good - not overly friendly, but quick, respectful, and good. I've had their wings, burgers, sandwiches, and appetizers. On my most recent visit I got one of their big pretzels and wings. They hit the spot!

Service was fast, and the prices, while high, are comparable to other places. For the price, however, you're mostly getting some excellent quality plates. I recommend the dirty south burger, which I've had before, but this time I got the hot Winston chicken. I enjoyed the gochujang slaw on the side as well, but I like it as an included side. If I paid the full $5 for extra side, I wouldn't have been quite as pleased perhaps. Lace got the aforementioned burger, which I'm pleased to say is still delicious (I'll probably go back to it next time), and the fries are above average quality, too! Pours of draft beer seem to be in a smaller than average glass, but then they are keeping their beverage prices down this way.

One of the best parts is how thoughtfully they can make the flights allergy accommodating, so everyone gets to enjoy the experience without missing out. Served on a beautiful wooden board, each pour lets you slow down and savor something different, from silky smooth lattes to rich espresso-forward sips topped with the perfect foam. It's cozy, elevated, and perfect for catch-up dates, work breaks, or a quiet downtown reset. The ability to sample multiple flavors, discover a seasonal favorite, and have it customized to your needs makes this one of the most fun coffee experiences in Winston-Salem.

The live music set the perfect tone for the evening. I ordered an espresso martini and my friend ordered a dirty chai, and both were excellent. The espresso martini was smooth and well-balanced. I then ordered a dirty chai myself and it was cozy, spiced, and comforting. The location adds to the charm--Footnote is connected to Bookmarks, a wonderful bookstore, making it a perfect stop for drinks after browsing. If you love great drinks, live jazz, and a creative atmosphere, this place is a must-visit.

Very disappointing experience, especially considering the high ratings…read more The employee was extremely rude and only allowed one sample spoon, which made the experience feel rushed and pressured. It didn't feel welcoming at all. The Italian ice itself didn't look fresh, but I still gave it a try. You also can't mix flavors, which is frustrating. I ordered two smalls, and it came out to $8, which is overpriced for what you get. The tangerine flavor tasted old and had a gummy texture, like it had clearly been frozen and refrozen. The sugar-free lemon was even worse -- it tasted like cardboard with an aftertaste that honestly reminded me of cigarette smoke. Shortly after eating it, my mom developed severe symptoms including intense stomach pain, nausea, gas, and ongoing digestive distress. Within about an hour she was in excruciating pain and doubled over. This was not a mild reaction -- it was extreme and very concerning. There absolutely needs to be a clear warning about the sweeteners used in the sugar-free options, or this product should not be served as-is. Customers deserve to know what they're consuming. Overall, poor service, questionable quality, and a genuinely concerning experience. I would not recommend.

That's what Mama Mia does for bagels, Kaiser rolls, Italian Christmas cookies, and more! The rainbow cookies were traveled and clearly not as fresh, and I imagine the bagels, etc. would suffer a bit from not being fresh either. Still, it's a nice alternative when you can't make the trip to NY yourself!
