I came in 3 days ago and was not happy...mind you I come here often for my pedicure. I always come…read moreon a Monday or Tuesday so that im not rushed on my pedicure. Ive came on Saturdays and was rushed and services were not given like the leg rub by the man doing my feet. Then I was dismissed like I was wrong when I mentioned it. I just thought I was losing my mind so I came back. My last 2 visits will be my last 2 visits. Tuesday I was cut and was bleeding. What makes it so bad is she seen it...and said nothing like it never happened...or maybe because it happens too much? I complained when I was rung up..she told me it was my fault and that my toes were small. Like WTF?? You cut my cuticle...MY SKIN. I assume the man by the desk was the manager or owner..he just said. Oh..Im so sorry. That's it. The visit 30 days prior.. I also got cut or nicked on my other foots toe. This one was painfull and red for a few days. It was my first cut from all my visits so I just took as " it happens". But after the lack of care and accountability from this last visit and the older lady who did my toes acting like she didn't want to be there in the first place makes me not want to return. Its unfortunate. To have at least 3 different people mess up your pedicure and 2 of them to cut the person..at that point there needs to be a refresher course taken. Customer service needs to be better and when you cut someone then you should find a way to compensate and resolve the issues for your customers. Also..the visit before this they automatically gave me gel on my toes which I never get and snuck in an charged me an extra $15.

I'll start with a compliment--after work around 6 o'clock, I was able to get in at this salon…read morewithin about 5 minutes! Unfortunately, I think I may know the reason this shop isn't busier. It's always a red flag for me when a shop showcases OPI nail polish, but doesn't actually offer it. I was in for a gel manicure and a toe polish change (I recently had a pedicure with my normal technician, who is currently out of the country--which is how I ended up here). Granted, the previous polish on my toes was dark (OPI shade Lincoln Park After Dark for my ladies who know); but the nail technician made VERY LITTLE effort to actually remove it. It's going to take a little more than 1 barely-moist cotton poof, so I was subjected to intense scrubbing with subpar results. I had to ask her to remove more of it, to little avail. I have included photos of the previous polish that can still be seen, despite me choosing a bright red that would typically mask any small imperfections. We then moved to the manicure. I was subjected to very uncomfortable pushing of my cuticles with THE NAIL TECHNICIAN'S OWN NAILS. She would eventually get a real tool, but I have never had a professional tech do this! Not even sure that is sanitary. On completion of the manicure, there was poor polish coverage & bubbles around the edges. I had asked for festive nail art (Valentine's Day is around the corner)--it was like pulling teeth to get a decent design. It doesn't look horrible from afar but up close it looks like a child's artwork. I won't be back and will not recommend.

I am changing my rating due to my most recent experience. I went in two and a half weeks ago to…read morereceive a full set of acrylics with regular polish. The customer service was lovely per usual, and my nails initially looked beautiful. Approximately 13 days following the service, I noticed two of my nails separating from my nail bed (this indicates the service was not done properly). After 15 days, I lost two nails. While I greatly appreciate the service, I think it is unlikely I will continue to go to 79 Nails due to this most recent experience. When I pay decent money for a service, I need to know that the nails will be durable. I do not engage in activities that would lead to my nails breaking, and I've never had this concern before.

For one mani/pedi the end result was average but resulted in quick chipping - even for my toes which are typically easy to maintain. My last visit was more awkward with me being greeted and asked to not sign in, but to maybe come back later. The option to wait wasn't offered and the suggested return time was a guess, not a confirmation of a time. After leaving I remembered that I'd seen this happened to others while I was in the chair getting my nails done. 20/100 - 2018 Yelp Review Challenge…read more Waayyyyy better! THE GOOD : A friend recommended me to this place, she's a regular and I have to say I am in love. It's close to work, it's totally affordable, its clean, and the staff is friendly! There were two technicians working, one lady was older than the other and I'm pretty sure she was the owner. My mom got her, and I got the other lady (sorry, I don't know her name ). My lady didn't talk much, which I like. I've always hated going to nail salons and making small talk. My technician was very thorough and clean. She paid very close attention to details. Compared to my last nail experience these were impeccable. Unfortunately I didn't get a photo before they started growing out. But I've had them for over a week now, and the only chip I have is from where my already torn nail when I received the service ripped all the way off. I knew this would happen. I got a pedicure, and a gel manicure and it was $55 in total, which I think was pretty reasonable. Especially because of all the amenities that came with the manicure. THE BAD - The bad really isn't even that bad, but I'm sort of a germaphobe. One part of the manicure I didn't like was the paraffin wax dip. It was cool because I have never had one at a nail place before, but it's also very unsanitary. It know I could have opt'd out (and I should have for time reasons) but I didn't think about it until after my first dip lol. OVERALL - I think I have found my new nail place, but I won't be doing the paraffin wax.
