Very convenient location, easy to get on and off a taxi, uber etc. Bathroom is for customers only and you can find it on your receipt. Tea and coffee is decent. Service is actually nice. So the only reason for not giving 1 star is because the espresso was alright, but from the moment we walked in the door the service was terrible. We walked in and toward the register to order when an associate behind the counter blurts out, "we don't have hot chocolate." Yes, we had 2 kids in tow, but that doesn't mean you need to yell out random stuffm. I quickly shook them off and jokingly said, "are you profiling me? I'm looking for espresso." I ordered and was served quickly. When I asked where the bathroom was the was I met with, "they're closed". The store didn't close for another 45 minutes! I'm a full fledged coffee addict so it's no surprise that I fell for the unlimited coffee subscription deal here. For a monthly fee of $9.99 you can get unlimited brewed coffee and tea for 30 days, or $19.99 for unlimited espresso beverages. I did not have high expectations for their coffee but surprisingly, it's not bad at all! Their iced lattes and coffee drinks are actually better than other drinks I've tried from Starbucks and Dunkin'. I also appreciate that you can sub non-dairy milk in any drink free of charge. I've been coming here almost every morning to get my caffeine fix and the service is always very fast; I'm in and out in under 3 minutes. This is honestly a very decent spot to get a quick bite and cup of coffee if you're ever pressed for time or only have a quick lunch break at work. Ready-to-eat food options. I stopped by for a quick break from work. Never heard of Pret A Manger before so this was a complete random visit. Usually seeing pre-made sandwich triggers thoughts of 7-11 but this is quite different. Various sandwiches, baguettes, wraps, desserts, and much much more. I grabbed a Lebanese Chicken Flatbread ( Chicken mixed with Lebanese dip, red sauce made with roasted red peppers, sunflower seeds, tamarind, and lemon juice. Topped with fresh mint). For a wrap it was delicious and satisfying. Too bad I wasn't able to come back to try out some of their other sandwiches. I also ordered a coco pot and a ginger beer for good measure. Why not, right? They are texting on there phone when you go up to counter, They ignore you and then tell you to pay attention if you didn't hear your drink called out in the middle of a busy time. They need to get better management and work on there people skills. I got a vegetarian falafel which I ate my desk. It was a minute walk to my office. This wrap is horrible, and even Dog should also not be given. I visit Pret a manger almost everyday for lunch and I am never disappointed. I have had almost everything here from their tiny little protein pots and granola pots, to their fresh and flaky plain croissant (one of the best in new york city) to their salads, sandwiches and soups. The calorie counts on some of these are unbelievably low for the taste and quality which makes me feel less guilty about eating lunch from here without compromising on taste. I just hope it's true! The attitude of the man working the front counter really got to me and his aggression almost ruined 10 minutes of my day. They have a credit card machine with a chip reader, so I put it in. He told me to swipe my card instead, so I swiped. I swiped a few times, but it wasn't working. He got an attitude with me and said " I TOLD YOU TO SWIPE, YOU HAVE TO SWIPE, TAKE YOUR CARD AND SWIPE IT IN THE MACHINE" I say, "I did swipe" then he says "TAKE YOUR CARD AND SWIPE IT IN THE MACHINE, IF IT SAYS TO SWIPE, SWIPE, MISS I ALREADY TOLD YOU, IT ISNT THAT HARD, YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO ME" super hostile and rude. Pret A Manger has some great sandwiches, salads and soups for diners on the run, and there is a semi-British theme going on which makes it that much cuter. Everything is priced at higher than average and some of their sandwiches seem airplane food-ish, but overall I think it's a welcome choice in New York as an alternative to fast food or other chains. I had a turkey club sandwich which was really fresh and full of mesculin greens, although perhaps not built well enough to really eat on the run (read: it was falling apart as I was eating it on the run). I also had a piece of banana cake which looked very tempting with it's copious amount of frosting on top, but much to my chagrin, when I opened it, all the frosting came off on the plastic wrapping leaving me eating just cake and debating licking the frosting off the wrapper in public while waiting for a bus at the Port Authority Bus Terminal (OK, this would not have been uncouth behavior in light of other things/characters one can regularly witness here). There is a wide selection of sandwiches with gourmet-type ingredients thrown in and some good juices, teas and drinks to finish everything off. In a way, their desserts look just as good as their sandwiches and I wouldn't think twice about going back for just that. It is conveniently located for people on the run (whether it be during a lunch break or if you're in transit), but I guess you have to be prepared to not actually run while eating it lest you find a piece of arugula down your shirt later on. read more

If I had visited Pret a Manger once in my life, they would have earned 5 stars. However, I visited them 3 times in one week which knocked 2 stars off purely out of monotony. We were visiting NYC from LA and stayed in the Bryant Park area, which is Pret a Manger central! In every direction that you walk you will run into one within 500 feet. I was toting a toddler and a 6 year old, hence my lack of imagination for lunch each day. So we inevitably visited Pret around noon 3 of the 4 days. My kids loved the fresh fruit and lemonade. I absolutely loved the roast beef sandwich...the first day. The second day it was not my favorite....the third day I gave the chicken a try and was sorely disappointed. So in summary, Pret is good if you are in a hurry and not in the mood for fast food....although I must say Pret is faster than fast food. So give it a try....once. =) read more

Newly renovated, Pret is now twice as big and much brighter then before. There are lots of tables and plenty of outlets. Very clean and comfortable. The workers are very nice and cordial. I come here a lot to just grab a quick breakfast or lunch. What's convenient about Pret is that quality is consistent, you know what you're getting, food is not overly greasy, and the nutrition information is very clear. The reason why Pret is 3 stars is mainly flavor. There are other places that can achieve both healthiness and flavor but unfortunately, many of Pret's sandwiches fall a little short. The chicken avocado sandwich tends to be a bit soggy and the burrito tortillas are strangely dry and stale. I do recommend the yogurt pots though. It's been a while since I visited a Pret and I'm happy to report that the sandwiches are still fresh. I tried the Vietnamese Chicken Baguette and it was just what I wanted. The baguette was pretty crunchy and not soggy, the amount of Sweet Chili mayo was great and gave the perfect kick, and the chicken was nice and fresh. The service at the register was prompt. Pret is definitely on the pricier side but the quality is great and it's Manhattan. Will be back for sure. read more
