(FATE, TX) We have been away from our properties on military orders when my property manager selected Preston Septic for our septic servicing, pumping, inspection and maintenance plan. We have paid a high rate believing the services, maintenance, repairs, inspections were being completed as they claimed, but they were not. We returned to our properties this past December/2017 and discovered the items they claimed to repair or maintain were nothing but lies. Our adjacent neighbors told us that they thought we just gave up in taking care of the septic system, this was far from the truth. They said the septic smell and overflowing septic head problems have occurred for over three years. The funds we have been paying all along, via our property manager, to Preston Septic was based on blind faith. We were all hoodwinked by this company. I met with Jerry Preston and asked why he allowed our property septic system to degrade to this level. He said the problems had occurred only within the past four months since their last inspection (in contradiction to what the neighbors told us), but he had been out to the property less than a week before we arrived and didn't mention the problems other than lies that the following items needed repaired:
1. electrical panel was not working due to a lightening strike or water damage inside the panel;
2. aerator needed replacing;
3. pump needed replacing;
We receiving a second and third opinion.
The electrical panel works, it was the wiring that they manipulated to get it to malfunction in an effort to claim it needed replacing; The aerator did not need replacing since the connection had been disconnected from the panel; the pump they replaced did not have one of the wires connected. In addition, they charged us over $500 for pumping last year, and as it was backing up this past month, we had AA Septic Pumping come out and showed us that the waste/water was over 3' in the system. They told us this was indicative that it hadn't been pumped in over three years.
Preston Septic tried a ruse in an effort to get us to pay for these false claims of repairs needed believing that we were still out of state - to their surprise we were now back and visually saw the deception of their ways.
I'm sure we are not the only ones they have been lied to in an effort to get paid for unnecessary repairs. Don't get caught up in their falsehoods, get a reputable company, not this one. We had entrusted them to maintain our properties for over a decade and we returned to seeing the damage and neglect they perpetuated on our properties. Our property manager is also to blame for having blind faith in them as well, and not following up. We are dealing with that issue. This was just a tip of the major issues we had due to their incompetence and neglect. God Bless. read more
