My AC unit went down on Saturday, July 9. I have a home warranty with American home Shield. AHS…read morecontracted with AUS Air in Plano Texas--I couldn't get a hold of anyone. I left repeated messages. Texas is right in the middle of a serious heat wave. And I was without air-conditioning. I went SIX DAYS--without AC. On Thursday, July 14 the technician showed up. He went around trying to diagnose the problem. He then determine that mice had gotten to one of my ground wires. And the wire was under the house. He looked at me and said that it would not be covered by home warranty work. And they would probably have to tear out walls to find the break. They would have to open up the walls and trace the wiring to find out where the problem is that. The cost would be about $395 or more. NOT COVERED by my warranty! PLUS they probably couldn't get to it till AT LEAST Monday. It was only supposed to get hotter in Texas. In a panic I called the FIRST person on the Google search-- totally random! Mike, picked up the phone--no recorded message! A REAL person! I explained him the situation and he said he would try to get to me later that afternoon. At about 6:30 he shows up at my house. The hunt for the busted wire began--he finally determined that the break was probably under the house. And it was concealed under some insulation. If you know Texas, the last place you wanna go is under a house in the summer! Snakes, skunks, spiders, HEAT-plus it is totally confined. Under my house Nick went! He is a big guy too! He crawled through this small hole and followed the wire. He cut out a 10 foot section of wire the mice had gotten to! No holes in my wall-- no new wire! It was just a replacement of the old chewed wire. Within about 45 minutes I had AC-- he flush out my AC unit-- we briefly talked about a replacement unit-- AND he fixed a heating wire that was burnt out that AUS Air had failed to tell me about. I cannot recommend this guy any more! Good service is just that and my AC runs like a champ! The fee was LESS than AUS Air of Plano was gonna charge me! I think from now on I will skip American Home Shield and pay this outta pocket! In mid July it is simply worth it when its 100+outside! Hotter inside! Thank You Mike!! Well Done!

The technicians were polite, knowledgeable and very thorough - even cleaning up behind themselves from the debris that fell out of the ducts (they were REALLY dirty). They sanitized after the ducts were clean and put shiny, CLEAN returns back in place - not a single screw missing or a single return less than perfectly clean. I have asthma and COPD and cannot believe the difference clean ducts can make in breathing. Not only that, my house doesn't need dusting every day. I am so pleased with Wetzels I cannot find enough superlatives to brag on them.

Biggest problems: Duct work not attached tight enough and comes loose, don't listen to you when you say there is an issue that you have had to have someone else come in and consult on an air flow issue, return air ducts attached improperly and causing air to not blow strong enough. This is to name just a few. The owner must be a great HVAC guy because he had good reviews in the past. But of late, I find that since he is "hands off" someone else is messing up his good name by not doing the work properly. I hope that the owner will take the time to view work done so that his business can continue without problems. Avoid them as much as possible.

I also paid him to clean my modern white Italian leather sofa that had become pretty dirty due to my babies' paws, big German Shepherd paws!
