Our 83 year old home has original Saltillo Tiles which I don't think have ever been restored since…read morethey were installed. Due to the porosity of clay tile, it can very easily be ruined by the wrong type of cleaning and sealant application. It's a job for professionals. And folks who specialize in this type of tile are hard to find. I found Tyler and his company, Seal Systems through Yelp and called them for an estimate. I was pleased to learn this is ALL they do. They specialize in natural clay tile restoration. Tyler's dad even created a proprietary cleaning solution to address the potential issues of stripping off old sealer. On Day 1, they showed up and stripped the tile on their hands and knees. No machines, just two guys working their a$$es off. On Day 2, the sealant went down, four coats in total (I believe) were spread. (I prefer the high-gloss Saltillo). The tile looks gorgeous. The patina is still there but the whole room has a new life. I love the way it turned out - 100% exceeded my expectations (because old tile restoration can be hit or miss.) If you have clay tile that needs some TLC - hire these guys. They are professional, responsible, dependable, and know what the heck they're doing. Also - family owned business...that's a good thing.

I had my suspicions when the estimator/ representative came out to bid. He examined my shower( the…read moregrout wasn't that bad) and explained they would remove all old grout, clean tiles and regrout to a brand new look. We are freshening up out master bath and decided to keep the existing tile and add a new frameless glass. Regrouping seemed to be called for. I had done a regrout at a former home and it's not difficult just time consuming. The trick is to take care of the details for a great job. The technician arrived at my home and I was immediately suspicious because he was hand carrying 2 tools. He also gave me a finishing time estimate that seemed way to quick. So after only a couple of hours it got quite. I decided to take a look and found he was outside mixing grout! No way I thought, there hasn't been time to remove the old and clean the tile to an appropriate stage. I went and looked at his work to that point and was startled to find he was fixing to grout over old loose grout not completely removed as well as old caulk. I immediately brought it to his attention and after begrudgingly acknowledging my concerns made a limited effort to remedy the situation. I then called the Grout Dr office, texted them photos and got a return call telling me the supervisor would come out. The supervisor as well as the owner came out. They worked to appease me however, while the tech was upstairs grouting over my concerned areas they were in my front yard talking for 15 mins! Overall it looks pretty good. But I'm concerned how long it will last and I definitely think the service is over priced. I paid $745 for a job that took 4 hours, mostly labor and not a great effort at that. I recommend you look elsewhere if you intend to regrout

The hype about the estimation and long wait to get scheduled would mislead the customers to believe…read morethat these people are doing a great job out there. We got the estimate and had to wait for two weeks for the appointment. With advance notice we requested a reschedule and move the appointment from morning to afternoon of the same day. The day of the appointment just a little before the scheduled time, we were told that there was some mess-up in the scheduling and they had to move us out to two more days. We had gotten the tiles & granite professionally cleaned and stayed home from work and it all went to waste. On the rescheduled day, we were informed that they are going to be 30 minutes late and finally showed up. The guys brought a small piece of rug that covered just about 4 feet of the foyer, did not have their shoe covers on and walked all over the hardwood floors and carpet with their work shoes on. The sealing process shocked me, because they sealed the grout and stepped over it themselves with their work shoes on. They kept walking back & forth between the car and the rooms with their shoes on. They spilled the cleaning liquid that they brought on the bathroom floor and walked over it with their shoes on. Lesson learned, if you are trying to get your grout sealing done (unless you are bent upon to having it done with the so-called professional hands), watch some online sealing tutorial videos and do it yourself and save some bucks for yourself! At least we would do it with much care & in a clean way because it is our own home. This is sheer waste of money hiring people who claim to do it professionally. Next time forward, this is a DIY project, period!
