Pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food here was. Usually, I would expect a restaurant as this to have just a mediocre experience. However, I was wrong. And grateful I was. I might come here over CPK and/or Macaroni Grill. And, it's nice to walk up and order and just seat ourselves. Thankful we have a new restaurant that is not a fast food or burger joint. A server brings the food to you and also offers freshly grated Parmesan Cheese. Take away/to-go boxes are available. If coming with a large group at a busy meal time, probably best to go early and grab seats as most seats are for 2-4 people. There is a larger booth that can maybe fit 6. And in the middle of the restaurant there are tables can possibly be moved- but not sure. We ordered: Chicken Marsala and Shrimp Scampi- both come with fettuccine with a cream/alfredo sauce. We also ordered a Greek Salad and Spaghetti with nest sauce and meatballs. All pasta dishes came with a slice of garlic bread. Oh, you can customize your order from type of pasta, sauce, and other ingredients. The chicken was tender and moist- usually it can be dry. I can taste the wine in the Marsala sauce- maybe it could have been reduced a little bit more but the flavor was great. And, the amount of mushrooms and sauce was perfect. It tasted well with the fettuccine. The shrimp scampi looked o.k. I don't remember the taste but I don't think I would order that one. Two young kids shared the spaghetti and it was very flavorful. I don't think we needed to add the meatballs as there was plenty of meat in the sauce but it was good, so I'm glad we did for this trip. The Greek salad was fresh and good. I liked how hot and fresh the food came out and felt like we were eating a home cooked meal. We would return. The amount of food was good for me. The reason for the 4 stars is because there were little things that could be improved but I'm sure it will because it has only been open for a short time. read more

We stopped here after a long walk through the Arroyo Simi Greenway! Presto Pasta is super good. Restaurant is bright, clean, and airy. The staff was friendly, especially our host/server Albert. I have to say, the food is delicious with large portions and very reasonably priced...actually a DEAL!! I had the Chicken Scaloppini with linguini which was absolutely delicious and a small Cesar Salad. We sat inside and there was nice background music and COVID protocols were followed. I ordered fettuccine pasta with Alfredo sauce plus additional mushrooms, artichokes and chicken breast. I asked for extra Parmesan and they were generous, they gave me 4 containers. My order was to go. I was so hungry that when I took a bite but something tasted rotten. Oh sucks! The mushrooms were not fresh, more like 2 days old, looked very dark, tasted rotten, slimy and smelled bad. The artichokes were not fresh. They used bottled sour artichokes. The chicken breast was okay. But the combination of all the ingredients to make a fettuccine Alfredo was horrible. There was taste of old, sour, smelly pasta with Alfredo sauce. A friend and I decided to get lunch at Presto pasta in Simi Valley. When we arrived we were quickly able to place our order with Jackie at the front cashier counter. She was very helpful and courteous. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs with garden salad and a peach mango drink. My friend ordered the chicken Alfredo with a garden salad and also a peach mango iced tea. It is very clean throughout the whole restaurant. They quickly brought our meals to our table. We were offered fresh grated Parmesan cheese. We both loved our meals they were both fresh hot and delicious. The view was very beautiful and you could see the palm trees in the back. Presto Pasta is like a poorly executed Magician's trick. PROS: The food came out fast! Magically FAST! The place looked very clean. The service was great. That's what the two stars are for. CONS: ALL of it tasted like something from an instant mix box. I eyed the Smart & Final suspiciously, since it was directly across the parking lot, as I was leaving. Other Reviewers wrote that there was always someone walking around the tables offering "freshly shaved Parma." But we had no one like that when we went. (This part isn't a big deal to me. Just an observation) We got chicken picatta with salad, spaghetti and meatballs, and greek salad with grilled chicken. 1. It's hard to mess up salad so this was good but these salads lacked filling ingredients, 3 olives and a toss of feta on spring mix isn't worth $10 imo) so my BF wasn't very satisfied afterwards either. 2. The chicken picatta... when they put it infront of me I felt already immediately disappointed. The presentation was sloppy and the sauce was splattered all over the plate. Maybe looks can be deceiving? The chicken tasted pretty good actually. The fettuccini though was bland, watery and the noodles had no texture. It was like Instant mix sauce all over $1 noodles. 3. The spaghetti and meatballs was definitely the winner of the table but only by a bit. The noodles were slippery also, no texture. The meat sauce was good but thinned out by too much oil. (To me, I do not think it was a good quality oil either) So when you tried to pick up the noodles, the sauce instantly would fall off. Nothing had that wonderful, magnetic "magic" that comes from good sauce and noodles. CONCLUSION: Personally, I really don't have a thing against instant-box mix food. I buy it myself even once in a while but this was NOT worth the $38 dollars I spent. And maybe it's just me right? I eat here twice a week for lunch when working from my office that is walking distance. I have never had a bad experience here ever. The food is great, fresh and always exactly what I expected and more. I have spoken to one of the owners before and the story behind the family owned and operated business is a pretty cool one. It's two brothers that co-own the stores. Im an Italian from NY and trust me, it reminds me of the food from back home in my childhood. Give it a try if you haven't yet. Many years ago in Santa Barbara I went to a Presto Pasta,and the meal was great so much so that I always hoped it made it to Simi. Ahas opened its doors recently here and town and I was looking forward to going again. Something that should be noted was my original experience was when I was in my early twenties and the meals were based more on quantity than anything else. The store was more in line with fast food than a nicer place. For this visit the new established view Is an Art Deco feel with Italian accents I the place Prices are good and the portion size is good. I had the 3 item sample fairly standard fair for a Italian place: lasagna and meat sAuce,fettuccini Alfredo and chicken piccata the chicken piccata wasn't great, but want bad. Out of place on this plate, but ok. The fettuccini was flavorless and thin. With the sauce so thin, it ran into the other two dishes. The lasagna was the the best of the three. But there was something off in the sauce, maybe over seasoned on one ingredient. So, it left a lot to be desired. The Caesar dressing was the same way, and in keeping with the rest, the dressing was runny, there was too much and it too was a little off. The kids had spaghetti and meat ball and it was good to them, though one made note of the "off" taste. Service wasn't good or bad, but non-memorable. Prices were good; $35 for our 3 meals. And drinks. The score is based solely on the disappointment in the meal. I'm not done with this location. I'll give it another time or two to make sure I've tried most if not all items. The food is really good. Great deals for the quality you get, the 3 combos are a great deal. 10 bucks and you are full usually even with leftovers. The staff is super friendly and nice and the restaurant is beautiful and clean and they have those awesome big red Coca-Cola machines with so many drink options.
