I went in to get my hair TRIMMED. I told Danielle that I would like JUST the split ends cut off, as I wanted to keep my length. I requested AT MOST 3 inches cut off. Danielle had unsavory opinions on my hair, which were completely untrue, especially considering the other opinions I had gotten on my hair prior to the cut. She told me no, and that she would cut off 5 inches. I was pressured into getting more hair cut off than I wanted, and to make matters worse, she cut my hair straight across with ZERO blending. What I wanted WAS NOT taken into consideration, and the entire haircut was based off what Danielle wanted for me instead of what I wanted for myself. Not coming back to support a hairstylist that puts her own wishes in priority over the wishes of her clients. read more

DJ has been cutting my hair for 30+ years. He is great, and cuts my whole family. The hair washers and assistants are very friendly. The receptionists, especially Vera, are helpful and accommodating. The salon is nice and modern. It does tend to be warm though. read more

My skin had been particularly oily and uneven of late so I called multiple places in Wayne to inquire about walk ins for a facial, since I was in the area for a few hours. I was so fortunate to find Prestige Salon, the only place that had an opening. The front desk staff was friendly and set me up with their esthetician, Shoreh, right away. She was excellent! I had the acne facial and microdermabrasion using crystal and not diamond, which was very effective yet much gentler on my skin. The products she used were natural and felt soothing and she explained everything as it was happening, which I appreciated. She wasn't pushy with trying to upsell anything, I found her warm and kind and I enjoyed my experience from beginning to end. More importantly, my skin looked and felt amazing afterward. If I'm ever passing through Wayne again, I'll definitely stop by Prestige to let Shoreh hook my skin up. read more

Nice salon, pleasant (but inexperienced) staff, and not so great results. I went here for hair coloring before a wedding because I couldn't get an appointment with my regular salon and unfortunately wasn't able to see the colorist because she was off that day. I was told I'd be in good hands with the stylist they assigned me. I have dark hair that's starting to look dull and wanted to make it richer in color. I was hoping to get something to warm it up yet preserving a similar coloring. I ended up getting a dye that was darker than my normal tone, and the result was very unflattering. It was one-dimensional and flat. The stylist also didn't know how to blow out my hair and left it frizzy and unpolished. My scalp felt a bit more than tingly while being colored, but I didn't say anything because it wasn't burning to the point I was worried. However, it peeled and flaked for about 2 weeks after the treatment. Also, the first time I washed my hair, there was still a ton of dye left that it took a long time for the water to rinse almost clear. I think it took one more wash before the color stopped running. Perhaps it was an off day, but I'll probably not return here. read more

I was so impacted by my first/last experience in this salon, I had not been able to write a review it was so upsetting. To my shock, someone else witnessed it and unbeknownst to me, posted a review. I didn't trust my instincts when I first went in and felt extremely uncomfortable by the frenetic and conveyor belt like system, as well as the messy environment. None of this could have prepared me for the shockingly awful behavior, first by the male stylist who had been assigned to me, and more, the owner. The only reason I know a review existed was the owner, who was dismissive of my distress when I first called, called back days later, expressing sudden concern for the damage to my scalp, but when I said there was nothing to be done, she said something about a review. Her motivation was based not of a new client's terrible experience and instead, yelp. Not having written of the atrocious behavior, I came to find someone had actually witnessed the scene. Thank you to that person and please do not risk going to this mess of a place. Ps. The 'stylist' complained of how crowded it is there, full of stylists to cover the high rent. To add up the charm, he shared how the ac had been down the day before and it was unbearable! Avoid! Go to any of the many other options. read more

Went to Prestige today for the first time. Woman at front desk was very nice. The girl who shampooed my hair was extremely pleasant. Michelle cut my hair and gave me a stellar cut. The past six months, I've let my hair grow out from a bob--I don't really want a "do" so much anymore. She listened to what I wanted. Cut some layers to take off the weight and took her time blow drying my thick porous hair--and trust me, I've left many salons with still-damp hair. Very pleased. Will be back. read more

Stephanie is by far the best person to go to for highlights of anybody I've ever been to! She gets right at the root and listens well. She gives you exactly what you ask for and is super precise. I've been going to Prestige for the past 6 years. During college I'd wait till I was home on breaks to get my hair done. Jenny Brown does my hair and she's awesome! I change my hair all the time from allover honey-blonde highlights (think Jennifer Aniston) to dark brown. She also looks out for the health of my hair, which is nice. While I may want to make a drastic change, she advises to go an in between shade (or two) first. And because of this, my hair is in pretty good shape considering how often I change it! I highly recommend Prestige! read more

OK, if you know me at all, you know I don't make many beauty indulgences. But I always feel like a million bucks when my mom eventually convinces me I need to cut my long hippie locks and make an appointment with Amy, who has cut hair for every member of my family since I was about 15. She even did my hair for prom! Crazy. The vibe here is good- it's always busy, with lots of main line mommies and their daughters gossiping about travel soccer or local news. I love it, so entertaining for this Philly girl to be back in the burbs. It's also an opportunity to feel glamorous. Amy is sweet and attentive, and she does really careful work. She always has great advice to promote the health of my hair, and she does a great job providing subtle highlights to augment my natural blonde color. The highlights change my entire look without making me look fake or done-up. Highly recommend! read more

This was my first time there, my boyfriend purchased me a gift card. The positives: front desk staff were very nice and friendly, shampoo girl was so sweet, salon interior was nice. I got a great hair cut but at 60.00 that seems like a little pricey. The negatives: when I called to make the appointment I told the girl over the phone I was new to the salon and I mentioned on their website that they had "cap" highlights and foils, I asked about that and told her when I got there I would talk to the stylist about it. The stylist was rude. She tried to be nice but the reality is that she was very rude. I asked about the cap coloring and this is what she said, "I don't do that..that is really old fashioned..why would you even want that?? I only do modern things like biolage" This is upon meeting her. At that point I wanted to leave but I needed a hair cut. So we agreed on partial foil and a cut. She did the foils and then said to me, "I have some of this bleach left over--do you want me to put it on your ends?" I said yes. However, "this leftover bleach" cost me 25.00 which she did not tell me. She did a fabulous cut and dried it. The total bill was 182.00 not including any tips and I was not prepared for that. I had looked on their website at the prices and was thinking it would be around 135.00. I did not like the color and I called back Saturday afternoon and explained the situation over the phone and the woman on the phone was very nice to me. The stylist called me back and we talked about what I did not like and she told me that I could come in for a toner or a gloss and she kept saying, "and then you can walk out wet." I finally asked her what do you mean? And she told me she would put the toner or gloss on, I guess wash it out, and then I leave the salon with wet hair! Ok, I am brand new customer, I did not like the color and call to find a solution, and I paid over 200 (with tips) and the only thing you are offering is for me to leave the salon with wet hair and not even know what the new process will look like dry? There are plenty of salons on the main line. read more

I went here for the first time recently and had a fantastic haircut by Melissa. She was nice, listened to what I wanted and what I didn't like about my previous haircut, and gave me a great cut. Melissa deserves 5 stars and I will definitely be returning. I debated between 4 and 5 stars and here is why... The only negative I have to say is, although the front desk staff was very nice, greeted me and told me it would only be a few minutes, which I expected since I knew I was early, no one offered me coffee or water, or even where I could get some, or where to hang my coat. Also, when it got close to my appointment no one said anything about my stylist running a few minutes late. It was kind of like they were trying to avoid eye contact and there were quite a few people at the front desk. It may have just been an off day for the front desk but it was surprising to me being a first time customer. read more

I went to Prestige because they advertise organic coloring. They said I should see Janez. After talking to Janez she gets you to do treatments at her place down the street. After two treatments I was told I needed more befor color and after color I would have to have her treatments every time I had color. Even though she says she is organic ,she put a non-organic cream on my hair after I told her about my allergies. The first color was just ammonia free not organic. Very disappointed. read more

I have a very frizzy, wavy hair ever since i moved to US ( i guess humidity is not my friend), i don't know how to handle it, because it's so new to me. My hairstylist was clueless and she recommended a shorter length, which made me look just awful. Never again! I had a horrible experience.
