We highly recommend Steven at Mainstream Plumbing & Heating. Our first experience with Mainstream…read morePlumbing & Heating was in 2020 during Covid when we lost hot water in our house. Our previous plumber went out of business and luckily Steven was available. He diagnosed the issue and explained that we needed a new water heater. Even though supply was tight, he was able to find a new Rheem water heater and install it quickly. We previously bought a warranty extension kit for our old water heater and even though previous plumber installed it, Steven promised to file claim with manufacturer to reclaim money for us. We were pleasantly surprised that Steven contacted us a few months later to give us the warranty money that he recovered. We are extremely grateful for his honesty and integrity! Throughout the years he has fixed the toilet flush valves in 2 of our bathrooms, fixed clogged bathroom sink and replaced the drain and replaced a leaking shower fixture. Most recently he troubleshooted the loss of water pressure in our kitchen and discovered that the shut off valves had failed and discharged debris towards the faucet causing a blockage issue. Steven's work is impeccable and he is always prompt, clean and utilizes the best materials. He explains the problem clearly and provides fair estimates given his expertise and quality of work. We highly recommend Steven and look forward to continue working with him for all our plumbing needs!

Called for service as Inlost hot water. I have a Crown Boiler that gives a code which said I needed…read morea new Flue sensor. Tech comes, hangs out a while, says I need a new flue sensor AND a barnd new external condensate pump (with tubing) Repairs 1600 dollars. After I picked my jaw up from the floor, I asked the owner if my estimate could delineate parts vs labor. He then proceeds to double talk me about "there is alot more involved than parts and labor" umm wat? He continues on that he has to buy gas, pay for insurance, 401k, workmans comp, a warehouse. Basically giving me the "no man in the house hustle". I call a competitor, independent diagnosis of flue sensor, gets part (that was like 100 bucks) and I have hot water again. Concerned about the condensate pump Smith said I needed, I asked the honest repair man and he laughed because IT WASN'T EVEN A PART OF MY SYSTEM anymore and had been bypassed. So instead of 1600 dollars, I paid 500 dollars. I know that at the end of the day Smith would have restored my hot water, but he was absolutely taking advantage of me. As a single parent, every dollar counts and 1100 dollars is a big deal for us. He was absolutely ready to take food off my table. So in closing, the five star rating is probably because most people dont know their ass from their elbow and blindly trust that a company isnt out to soak you. This is your fair warning. If you do call them, save yourself money and get a second opinion like I did.
