An electrician then came out but couldn't figure out how to connect things. Frank painstakingly tested all of the wires in varying combinations and while connecting and disconnecting thermostat and condenser wires to figure out the mess of wires. Eventually, he got it working. He's also an extremely nice guy, who charged something very reasonable given the amount of time he spent working everything out. We will definitely be calling Frank next time we need HVAC help.

Some installations required repeated adjustments, certain problems were not properly diagnosed the first time, and there were ongoing airflow issues that were never fully resolved. This led to rework and ongoing troubleshooting that a homeowner should not expect from a professional contractor. More concerning was how accountability and professionalism were handled afterward. Items and tools belonging to me that were borrowed during the work were not returned when requested, and communication around resolving this was dismissive rather than professional. This is something consumers should be mindful of when allowing access to their home and property. Based on the quality control, the need for repeated corrections, and how disputes and borrowed property were handled, I can no longer recommend this contractor. I'm sharing this so future customers can make an informed decision and set very clear expectations up front.

The highest price that anyone should pay for these two items and installation in the NYC area is $388.00. This is a fact taken directly from both Home Adviser and Angie's List.To be charged $509.32 by a repairman who smelled like an ashtray and had not showered in days did not make this simple repair any better. I called the company to tell them all of this and they had the chance to do the right thing and refund at least $150.00 to us for ripping us off. He claimed he was one of the owners Scott when I first called. By the end of our conversation where I told him I was going to post a review of how bad the serviceman smelled and they ripped us off he then said,oh,well I'll pass this on to the owners.
