Part of the bid was to replace a GFCI in my kitchen - that was not done. The labels on the new panels DO NOT match what they are supposed to be linked to. Trying to get them back out to finish what they were paid for has been a nightmare. When they did come back out, the wall sockets still were not fixed, and the CFGI was not replaced. Now the lights in my main room in the basement, as well as the outdoor light are out. So I know it is not a light socket that is bad, it is the whole circuit. I called and left a voice mail, again, but the message said they are booking out to February. I do not like giving a bad review, but I feel this is my only option at this point to try and get my issues resolved.

Steve & Hannah came to do the job, and they were awesome. I thought I'd dug the trench well, but they indeed had to dig/maneuver around a giant tree root- it was nasty work but they literally whistled while they worked! They were enjoyable to be around, and lovely to work with. Steve used some magic heating blanket to curve the conduit to match the artistic ditch I dug, and I now have POWER outdoors. So awesome. I appreciate Steve & Hannah and couldn't be happier!

I waited 10 days with no word back on the email from either Dan or the receptionist who I cc'd. So, I called back again and spoke to Chad. Chad said he would let Dan know so he could get back in touch with me. After waiting several more days with no word back, I called again and spoke to Chad again. Chad, once again said he would let Dan know to get in touch with me. I asked if there was a manager I could speak to about my experience and Chad informed me there wasn't technically a manager, but Dan was a co-owner and he would be the person to take this up with. The problem is I can never get ahold of Dan... I asked if I could talk to the other owner, Robert, and Chad said no and that he could not give his info out. As a business owner myself, the problem is obvious: broken systems of follow-up and communication + bad customer service. As a loyal client of this company I gave them multiple opportunities to at the very least respond back. Chad mentioned one of the reasons Dan may not have gotten back was because he may not have been interested in the job. I would have really liked to know that so I didn't waste so much time! Bottomline: very disappointed and frustrated with this group.

I called Dekorte based on the reviews here, and spent 20 minutes explaining what I wanted and arranging to have someone come out and do an estimate. There was some phone-tag, getting to the right person, there: three phone calls, three conversations. I'm buying the property, so access had to be negotiated through the realtors. I had my realtor call Dekorte and find a time that worked for everyone - she says that also took three phone calls and three conversations. So that was six separate conversations so far, and everything seemed to be going well, but two hours before the inspection time we worked out with both realtors, the property owner, and all four tenants, Ken called me up and told me that he charges $150 for estimates. He said he's "spent his whole career writing estimates that didn't turn into jobs." I don't think other electricians in town charge for estimates, but I might have accepted it - IF we hadn't already had six conversations over two weeks with no mention of it! I had everyone ready and standing by, and felt like he was trying to screw me over with some last-minute BS. Their website says very clearly that estimates are free, on every page! His staff never mentioned a fee - but Ken just waved that off as a mistake. If he was that untrustworthy just getting an estimate, why would I trust him with a $5,000 project?

He was proactive in all communication with me so that is really appreciated. He was able to quickly diagnose the issue in about 20 minutes. I had a similar issue in the past that another electrician took over an hour to diagnose. After the fix he spent another 15 minutes talking me through a separate issue that I was planning on tackling myself in the future. He was reasonable in his bill. Would call again.
