I had been hearing amazing things about the nightlife in Patchogue from some close friends who live…read morethere and recently decided to airbnb vacation in the area for a month. I needed my clothes washed and folded for me throughout my stay. Whenever I travel, I worry about my high end designer clothes and don't want to leave my clothes with just anybody. Just around the corner from my place, I decided to take a chance with the route 112 laundromat. Janet, the older woman at the desk with the long white hair was very hospitable and welcoming. My first impression made me feel more like family than a laundry client. She assured me that my clothes were in good hands with her and that she had years of professional experience handling delicate and high end clothing. I had zero qualms after speaking with her and now Janet has a life long customer. When I come back to patchogue for Thanksgiving, I'll be trusting my clothes with Janet. Unfortunately, my summer excursion went by way too fast but I could enjoy it without worry once I saw the phenomenal care to detail Janet paid to my garments. A+ service with a family feel and an above and beyond experience. I'm recommending all of my friends who live in the area to trust Janet with their clothes.

My family has been using Academy Cleaners for as long as I can remember. It is a town away from my…read moreparents' house - there are a few closer places - and it has always been their go-to. I still go here for all my dry cleaning (formal dresses, work slacks and suit jackets, etc.) and any time I need something altered. I've had all my work slacks taken up here on multiple occasions and they were always hemmed perfectly. A few months ago I had a bridesmaid dress altered here and was extremely happy with how it fit afterwards! Everything is priced extremely reasonably. Even the bridesmaid dress job! If you brought that to a place that specializes in wedding attire, the same alteration job would have cost a lot more. (Depending on what you need changed, it is worth asking to see if it is doable!) The owners are kind and will work with you if you need something finished by a specific time. The 4-star review is because the place itself isn't the nicest looking and the changing room is small and uncomfortable. It isn't so important because they get the job done, but I had to factor it in. But seriously, if you're looking for a great local place to get your clothing cleaned, pressed, altered, or what have you, stop by Academy Cleaners.
