I brought in my Michael Kors bag for a deep cleaning and the results were good. The bag came back looking great. However, the price was way more than I expected for a cleaning service. On top of that, they do not actually clean bags in house. They send it out to a third party company to do the work. That is something they should be upfront about before you hand over your item, especially when the cost is that high. This place is a gold mine. I had a Burberry jacket that I was trying to resell on Facebook market. There was a slight tear in the inner pocket. I took do a dry cleaner located in central Islip. They sewed it from the outside in. Which completely ruined the jacket and made it look fake when it's actually real. My mother told me to come to this place, even though it was a difficult job because they have to reweave out the thread this place completely made the jacket look brand new and they were able to fix the tear inside the pocket by again re-weaving the thread so they fixed a major problem for me. We've had such wonderful experiences here. First my wife brought all the suits and gowns for dry cleaning after my eldest daughter's wedding. They did a perfect job- and got out every wine/food stain on them on the first try! Recently my wife went back for alterations for an evening gown for another wedding and they could not have been more friendly, accommodating , quick and resourceful with great ideas and fixes. But most of all- all of the staff could not be friendlier- always welcoming, smiling and genuinely appreciative of their customers. Their prices are reasonable and fair. Trash experience with the tailoring service here. For $100, I expect a dress to be wearable. Instead the sleeve is weirdly puffed and the chest is still gaping. My mistake was picking up too near the end of the day I suppose, as the tailor was left so they wouldn't let me try it on before paying and leaving. My baby shower was only a few days away, and when I tried it on and realized how awful the tailoring was I called. They could not fix it in time nor would they give even a partial refund. Dress couldn't be returned to the store obviously since it was altered (butchered really) and can't be worn. Will never return. read more

While they were nice, the service was sub par. I requested to have curtains shortened. Quoted 90 dollars which I think is overpriced but since I'm new to the neighborhood I agreed. They said come Saturday after 430. I come to pick up and they're not ready. They offered to fix and deliver which I declined. You had curtains for 5 days and now you want to rush? I waited 2 additional days. They curtains were made shorter than requested and uneven. Needless to say I will shop around for a better place. I tried to get three patches sewn onto a backpack, and could not find someone who could offer me a reasonable price in my area (the cobbler that I went to last year was closed for the summer), I didn't have time to wait for him to reopen in September, so I looked all around and stumbled across Islip Cleaners on Yelp with a ton of 5-star reviews. I called to ask them if they could do it, and Tom was very honest with me (he told me that he had to see the patches and the backpack before he could tell me yes or no). When I brought it in Saturday morning, he even offered to get it finished later that evening, but I was going to be in NYC for the rest of the day, so I told him I would come back Monday. I showed up Monday, and all three patches were sewn on, as promised. All for a very reasonable price. OUTSTANDING!!! I wish I could give Danny and his team at Islip Cleaners more stars, because they did an incredible job cleaning, hemming and tailoring my wedding gown, and tailoring a dress for my rehearsal dinner. I bought a Monique Lhuillier wedding gown used and it arrived with a yellow stain along the right-hand side of the dress plus some other loose applique and spots along the bottom of the dress. I called Danny at Islip Cleaners for a quote and asked if he thought he could get the yellow stain out, and he gave me a VERY reasonable price range for the cleaning and said, "yes, no problem." He suspected the other bride had probably spilled white wine or something that yellowed over time and assured me that he and his team would be able to get the spot out, whereas the 4 other wedding dress cleaners and tailors I called all gave me more expensive estimates, longer timelines and NONE were willing to say they could get it out and one would not even try. Danny said it would take him a few weeks to clean and no problem, which was a HUGE relief, given my wedding is now in just over a month. Once I felt comfortable that Danny would be able to clean the dress, I asked if he might also be able to tailor it too, since I needed the dress shortened and I wanted to adjust the neckline from a deep, low V to a softer and more modest V that would be more proportional to my size. Danny and his seamstress, Rosalba, did a fabulous job hemming the dress (rather than just cutting it, which the other bride had done and was already starting to tear plus looked messy, uneven from the cutting, and unprofessional), and brought up the V but only by a touch so that it is not as severe and looks far more elegant than before. When I tried it on, I was amazed because not only was the dress SPOTLESS, sparkling white, and looking brand new, but the neckline looked so beautiful - one would never know that it was adjusted, and then Rosalba and Danny helped me adjust the cups, which had previously been sewed in unevenly. They even gave me new cups that fit me much better and provide more coverage and lift for an overall more elegant and flattering effect. They made the adjustments right there, and then put my now basically BRAND NEW wedding dress into a new bag. They also steamed out my veil, which was an added bonus that they offered without even charging me extra. After my initial meeting with Danny and Rosalba, I felt confident leaving an Amsale dress strapless dress that needed to be shortened with them for my rehearsal dinner and yet again they did not disappoint. They did a fabulous job hemming the dress but keeping the multi-layered effect, which was not easy to do! Both dresses look beautiful and like they were custom made for me - all thank you to Danny and the talented team at Islip Cleaner's. Throughout the process, Danny was extremely professional, assuring, and accommodating. He did all of this -- cleaning my wedding dress, hemming the entire bottom (the dress has a long train), adjusting the neckline, cleaning and steaming my veil, and hemming my rehearsal dinner dress in less than 3 weeks and exactly on the timeline and budget that was promised/discussed. I cannot speak more highly of Danny and the team and I cannot thank them all enough, as this has been the least stressful vendor to work with through my entire wedding planning process and his team helped lift such a huge weight off my shoulders as I had been really nervous that the stain would not come out - but Danny was right he got it out!, that the hemming might not look good - but it looks fabulous!, or that the adjustment to the neckline would not work - but they did such an elegant job! At every turn, Danny was calming, clear, and straightforward. He also understood that I was trying to keep within a specific budget and he helped me keep to it, and for all that he did, I feel I should have paid him more! Danny and Islip Cleaners are the consummate professionals. I would HIGHLY recommend and would go back to them in a heartbeat because they have my full trust and confidence. I've been away from home (California) while planning my wedding, so I needed my wedding dress altered in Long Island. After a couple of months of looking for someone to alter my wedding dress, I chose Islip Cleaners. I'm very pleased with the alterations and the customer service at Islip Cleaners. I trusted them with my sample sale wedding dress that needed a lot of work done (i.e., hem, bust, shoulders, buttons, fixing holes, adding bustles), and I'm very happy with the final results. They did a great job working with very delicate fabric (lace bodice, illusion neckline, and soft tulle skirt). It fits beautifully and looks brand new. Danny, along with one of his assistants, helped with the alterations. They never rushed me to make decisions and they listened to my feedback and comments about the alterations I wanted done.
