I sometimes see people saying that if they could give zero stars they would. This is an example of one of those situations. The situation regards tailoring services, not dry cleaning.
I visited the Northgate dry cleaners to have tailoring done on advice of a family member. Even though the price was 20% higher than a place down the street I have used, I decided to give it a go.
Within two days, I dropped off one new suit for tailoring and one dress for my wife to have one hook installed to keep the bustline together.
Even though the completion date fell very close to an upcoming wedding, I agreed to give them one week to do the work on the suit. Pickup day arrived and the time was after 5 PM. I showed up at close to 6pm which was one hour before closing. After waiting for a few mins, I noticed the supposed-manager had disappeared for a few minutes. A moment later he appeared and informed me that I would need to wait 20 mins for my suit pants as they were being worked on. I was not happy that the pants were not done in one week as agreed and let him know that as dinner was awaiting. There was no apology given at all. He actually did say, "I have nothing to say".
The manager then proceeded to overcharge me. $77.00 for $73.00 worth of work on two tickets. (Pictures attached)
I returned home with the suit and dress to discover that a snap had been installed instead of the requested hook on the dress. This resulted in the area on dress to pop open with mild movement. Further, the buttons on the suit, that I paid to have moved, were still in their original positions.
The next morning I returned. The female tailor offered no explanation for any of the four errors that had occurred.
1. Work not completed on time and was actually forgotten. (The man who finished pants the night prior was doing nothing when I walked in other than straightening up the tailor area). I waited another 20 minutes to have the work on the hook and buttons corrected. She did apologize but offered no consolation for my being ripped off and forced to wait 40 minutes in the process.
2. Overcharged.
3. Snap installed instead of requested hook.
4. Buttons not moved but still charged.
