We stopped by to check out the Flea Market they had on Sunday. It was a bit chilly so we needed something to warm us up! Presta Coffee has a small cafe in Mercado San Augustin which is located next to Estrella Bakery. There are tables & chairs available inside and out but it was a bit busy during our time because of the flea market (930am-10am). It took about 20 minutes for our drinks but I expected it! It was no problem with us We ordered the vanilla latte (need the Sunday energy) and the hot cocoa for my husband! Between Maine's tandem coffee roasters and Presta coffee roasters it's a 50/50 coin toss in my book. This is a premium spot for quality coffee. Its all good - drip, iced, double shot, latte cortado all very very good. This place hands down knows not just how roast coffee (which literally anyone can do at home) but this spot knows how to *develop many origins and how to do so extremely well. I sipped on some incredible single origin coffees here - one that stands out was the Panama gesisha verity - what an explosion of both delicate, succulent & juicy flavor ... even brought my bro here to try this bc the geisha is quite a rare verity to find. The ambiance is very modern + hipster nice feel with the plants hanging over you + some cool Spaniard music playing in background and impeccable coffee clean coffee station with a nice smooth routine. The service ... well ... the more I've come here over the past couple years the more it's gotten like this: cold, colder .... And now getting a bit too cold for me? Many employees don't really give you the vibe that they like working there or that they enjoy interacting with people. No "thank you" "enjoy" "what did you think" ... it's more like your ordering another coffee? followed by an eye roll. When they served a beautiful espresso at the bar zero eye contact. Small place inside the San Augustine market with a small basic menu. They had seasonal lattes such as a Mole latte and a few others however none of them sounded delicious to me so I decided to take the basic girl route and order a vanilla latte. The latte was very good but not as sweet as I like my coffee. I did like that the coffee was smooth and very delicious but had it been a bit sweet with better sounding flavor options, I would have given it 5 stars. Also my latte cost $5 and it was a small size. One of the memorable experiences in Tucson during my visit! Presta Coffee Roasters is a beautiful coffee shop located in the Mercado San Agustin Public Market. We were greeted by the friendly baristas with warm smiles and friendly vibes. My friend and I both ordered their special Iced Chai Latte with oat milk and gosh it was DELICIOUSSSS. (ask to stir in cinnamon!) I was browsing and looking at their ground coffee selection since my friend has been raving about a couple that she likes, and the female barista was super helpful with giving me recommendations and intel on best sellers. BEST OF ALL, they had a whole line of coffee dedicated to the Black Lives Matter movement! 100%.... ONE HUNDRED percent of the proceeds of the El Salvador Loma La Glora Belvedere coffee is going to the Tucson Reparations (which I briefly looked up and found that it is an organization that fundraises and redistributes to the black community). So of course my friend and I both bought a bag!  They also did a complimentary grind of beans to my liking. I had such a pleasant experience at Presta and would definitely recommend a visit! If you want something new, try the espresso and tonic. It was bubbly coffee, which, to me, is iconic. It's like a flavorless LaCroix with bomb-a$$ espresso. It wakes you up twice, because of the carbonation, so drink slow. The staff was also the best part, they helped me decide, and they're totally coffee-smart! read more

I was in line to order a coffee, and I overheard the person in front of me ask for something I never would have thought of-- a shot of honey in their latte. I was like.... I might have to try this. I asked the barista what the deal was and she upped the ante saying "it's great! Some people add cinnamon on top too." Boom. Life changed. I eventually amended this order to be: hot latte with oat milk, add a shot of honey and cinnamon. Try it! It's delicious! I appreciate the friendly staff and their recommendations. The coffee is high quality, but they aren't snobbish. There is counter and table seating inside but I tend to get my coffee to go or eat on the back patio. I believe there is wi-fi. Today I took a friend who had never been, to the Mercado San Agustin. Stella Java was just about closed, but it was the first time I've been there when someone was there. As fate would have it, Beau the barrista was enjoying conversation with a seated customer/friend. My friend saw the closed sign on the counter. I asked if he was really closed! :( Beau told me to turn my frown upside down, he would be happy to whip up whatever I would like. :) I ordered what turned out to be one extraordinary latte. The espresso looked like caramel filling my cup. If you are able to sit in the court yard to sip for coffee you are a lucky duck. Especially since it's cool and sunny at this time of year. If not they have a lovely tall wooden plank counter top that seats a few people, and a few indoor tables and chairs. With Estrella Bakery and Dolce Pastello within feet of this open cafe, my tummy was extremely grateful. I had a slice of cake to complement my latte and a very big smile. I love the fact that there is a coffee place in the Mercado San Agustin (Public Market). It's located right next to Sonoran Sno-Cones. There are about three long wooden tables for indoor seating shared between three different shops, and five tables outside with umbrella covers. It's the perfect place to catch up with friends, or grab a quick cup of coffee. I went here around 8am on a Tuesday morning. It was quiet enough for me to do some quick work and read through emails; probably since the other shops weren't quite open yet. Wifi is free - no password needed. This would be a decent place to squeeze in some studying time. Maybe not for an extended period of time as the chairs aren't super comfy or cushy. However, if you get hungry, there's a bakery and sno cones that are only a couple of steps away. Parking was easy to find along the street. Coffee tasted pretty good - love the latte art. In an open air, feels like Mexico, kinda place. I got a Free High Five, which was AWESOME! We got Caramel Latte's, decent pricing, very personable guy, Paco, helped us and made our whole experience! Presta might be my favorite coffee roaster in all of Tucson! Add vibey spaces to drink your coffee, and you have a match made in heaven. I have not found a roast that I do not like from them! My favorite is their Costa Rica beans. It's perfect for pour over, both black and with soy creamer. Their lattes are also one of the best I've had. It's not bitter, and the nutty flavor of the espresso is perfectly balanced with the milk. Also the fact that they did a limited edition roast for the BLM movement to help support Tucson reparations was an added bonus!! In terms of study space for this location, it is limited since they share tables with the other vendors in the Mercado. Last I went during Covid, their tables were unavailable for use (don't know if that has changed recently though) read more

Presta, which may have had a different name (Stella Java perhaps?) when I visited was everything I needed in an Americano. I came to Tucson for rocks. I left with so much more! Tucson is a lovely city that embraces culture, art, and education... and a DAMN good cup of joe. It was mid-February and already the sun was beating down early in the morning. Only an iced Americano would do. The line was fairly long, but the beautiful interior and views to the courtyard were enjoyable while I waited. I was tempted to try one of their latte's, but I went with my old favorite. Rich and smooth. The Americano hit the spot. Hardly any bitterness which was pleasing. They also made sure to not overly ice the drink to wateriness, which was appreciated. If I ever return, and I hope I do, my sights are set on their magical cold brew! read more

They have oat milk as an alternative to regular milk but no other options--just a heads up! Since the Mercado is one of my favorite places in town, it makes sense that Presta would be one of my favorite coffee places. There's nothing better than grabbing a drink from here and sitting in the courtyard or wandering through the monthly flea market. I love Presta's open-air feel, with their impressive pothos plants strung across the roof. Most recently I brought my parents who were visiting from out of town. My father, a self-proclaimed cortado fiend, enjoyed his immensely while I treated myself to a vanilla matcha latte, which was perfection. Slightly grassy, not too sweet, and an excellent accompaniment to some pastries from La Estrella.
