Professional, honest, and available and responsive 24/7…read more Igor of Mr. Fix has done a number of jobs at my now former home in Sunset Park. During the Halloween snowstorm of 2011 when we went to turn on our heat we discovered that the pilot in the furnace was not lit and that we needed a plumber. It being the weekend I set out to find a 24 hour plumber. Igor picked up the phone immediately when I called and told me he could come over in a few hours (he gave a 1 hour range). He asked me to text him my address and said he'd call when he was on his way. He was prompt and professional. It turned out we needed a new furnace. Igor purchased the furnace for us and installed it the following day. Everything was clean when he left and the work was well done. Later that winter Igor added a gas line for our dryer and installed it for us. We left him the keys to the house so that he could work while we were at work. He locked up and even texted me a picture of the completed job before he left. He came back the following evening to pick up the check from us, double check that we were happy with the work, and dropped off a bottle of wine as a thank you for our business as his business was celebrating an anniversary (he also brought an ice cream cake for me since I was pregnant at the time :) ). A few weeks ago I called Igor again because of an emergency. It was a Sunday morning and he immediately picked up when I called and knew who I was and had my address. My husband had gone to move the gas dryer and stove out of the house and into our new house, but he wasn't able to get the gas shut off at the stove because the hardware was too old. Igor arrived very soon after I called him and was able to get the gas shut off and wouldn't accept any payment for his time. I would absolutely call Igor again with any plumbing issues.

Steve responded to my call with a house visit the same day I reached out. He took an hour to explain to me the benefits of upgrading to a gas powered heater and recommended some options that made sense. The next day (4/25) the new water heater was professionally installed and my family loves having access to piping hot water since we owned the house. When my wife went to pay the bill Steve was kind in that he came in under budget since the installation went a little smoother than planned. Steve was quick to respond to a crisis, an excellent communicator, professional, and kind. I really appreciate how he reworked his schedule to fit my family in! Nobody has coached me to write this review; this is a small token of my appreciation for a good man that does great work. I plan on having Steve back to help me upgrade my sump pump! Ariel was a lifesaver!…read more My mother was arriving Friday, and somehow it got to be Thursday and not only was I swamped with work, but I'm not the domestic, apron-donning debutante I appear to be. (chuckle). Right. "I need someone to clean this place" I thought desperately, as I combed through Yelp listings and frantically shot off a few emails. Ariel replied swiftly, showed up that very night to give me a quote, and came back Friday at 4pm to clean this sucker. Very accommodating and professional. Now, I was terribly spoiled in Chicago with a fantastic cleaning person...so I'd be remiss if I didn't comment on the clean factor. While it was certainly good, and much better than I could've done myself in the time frame...I was left feeling like there were definitely more than few missed spots. I ran over the place with a rag and polish and vacuumed up some spots of dog/cat hair that he had missed after he left. Not a huge deal, but this review would fail if it weren't effective in giving honest feedback. If it were an ongoing situation for me, I'm sure this could be rectified. Ariel is very easy to talk to, and a hard worker, creating a nice little client list for himself. Also, during this two-day time frame he was very communicative (sent me an invoice beforehand for a flat rate) and extremely reliable.
