They are very busy and should be mindful and respectful to their customers of a professional and clean appearance. The staff is great. Was dealing with a young lady on the phone, who was very nice, in the Merrick location when she explained to me that the owner wants to see the wrinkle in my suit pants. I said he doesn't know what a wrinkle looks like? This order was on its third attempt to press the pants correctly. I use the Mineola drop off location. While conversing with the young lady, a third voice started interrupting the conversation. First flag. His name is Jordan. An absolute arrogant individual. He wanted to inconvience me to "INSPECT" the wrinkle after it was pressed. We went back and forth because I am having a function and can't run the risk if it is "WRINKLE" AGAIN. You really do get what you pay for. I recently started coming here for my dry-cleaning needs because of the incredible price. The first time, I received my clothes back with a faint musty odor that certainly wasn't there when I dropped them off. Because the price was too good to pass up, I decided to give this place one more shot and brought in a very slightly stained shirt (it had a bit of dirt on it; see the attached pictures). I picked it up a few days later and the dirt was still there. They offered to clean it again. Surprise - went to pick it up again a few days later and the stain was still there. The guy behind the counter said he'd personally clean if I left it for a third time. I took my shirt and left. If you want to replicate what this place does, take your piece of clothing, spill something on it, run around and sweat in it, put it on a hanger, and cover it with plastic wrap. I used to come here twice a week every week. Had a spot of blood on the inside of my suit pants (on the pocket) (yes, it's dry clean only) and I brought it here. The girl said they would take care of it, when I picked it up the stain was still there. I wore the pants again because I wasn't particularly worried about people seeing the stain on the pocket because it wasn't visible. The next time, I brought the pants back and the kid said he couldn't accept it because they don't clean clothes with blood stains. He said they couldn't process it. Dry cleaners are supposed to have commercial-grade enzyme pretreatment cleaners that get out the toughest of stains. Am I supposed to have my clothes dry cleaned somewhere else before I take them to be dry cleaned here? No thanks. I guess it's really true you get what you pay for. It's really true....you get what you pay for. been coming here for years, because the price was good. Not particularly friendly, and do an ok job as long as you don't have a stain on anything....if you do, you will still have it when you pick it up. The last straw is I brought clothes in on a Monday, and on the receipt it said that they would be ready the next day on Tuesday. When I went to pick them up, I was informed that they have a new policy, and the clothes actually wouldn't be ready until Wednesday. I explained that I was going away the next day, and needed it....asked if they can some how accommodate me. I was told maybe it would be done by 10 am the next day, but they wouldn't guarantee it. I have little problem with their dry cleaning, and their staff is courteous and prompt. There are two troubling items that prevent me from recommending this establishment: 1) In the heat of summer, this palace has no means of air-conditioning. In place of that, they have a ginormous fan that renders even hair doused in AquaNet tousled in a millisecond. If you've ever wondered why everyone who exits has a throwback 'do like they're part of a Flamingoes tribute band, now you know why. Despite its Mach 2 wind shear, it still can't replace good ol' A/C when the heat index is over 100. God bless the staff, who have to work through these sweatshop conditions, aggravated immensely by the enormous heat generated by the cleaning equipment. Most of them were dripping sweat profusely; no wonder they wear black T-shirts, otherwise their (ahem) axillary perspiration would be rather copiously obvious. I don't work for the Labor Department, but I'll hazard a guess there's a workplace violation somewhere here. 2) Given my reasonable experience with their dry cleaning, and their purported green methods, I was tempted to proffer them my dress shirts for laundering. Again, very good service, remarkable given the inhumane climate conditions. I returned for the cleaned shirts later that week & brought them home, removing the protective plastic, when I was overwhelmed by the smell of sweat permeating the shirts. While trying to figure out whether I was imagining things, my wife passed by and said, "Whew! I hope you clean those soon." The second batch was almost as rancid, but a bit more tolerable (either that or I built an olfactory tolerance from the first round). Revealingly, two shirts that needed buttons sewed back on & therefore laundered separately were pretty scentless, thank goodness. I returned the two nasty batches to the cleaners, and again, to the staff's immense credit, despite the sub-Saharan conditions, they promptly offered to re-launder them without hesitation. Upon picking them up again, the smell was noticeably improved (how could it not be?), but get this: there were still tinges of sweat scent, especially compared to the aforementioned mended shirts. When earlier I'd asked what might have happened, we agreed that my shirts must've had the misfortune of being washed with a horribly soiled batch of another customer's; hey, I was down with that: it happens. That doesn't wash so well (no pun intended) with the second less-overwhelming but still noticeable experience. Grasping at straws, my nonscientific hypothesis is that the staff's unavoidable sweating in such torridly overheated conditions had something to do with it. I really wanted to like this place. Really. But given my experience, I can't. Oh well. Maybe in the winter when it's cold, lol. read more

On top of that, its right off the highway, you can literally park on Sunrise and hop in/hop out. More? Okay, all of their cleaning is done "green" - with energy efficient machines and chemical-free. Can you get any better? You can, in fact. I recently left $250 cash in the pocket of my pants. I was devastated to have lost it. I really wanted to like this place but am annoyed at the fact that I dropped off a comforter to be cleaned and it wasn't. There is lint and hair (not mine) all over it. I was thinking that maybe it was from the floor of the cleaners but when I smelled it - it didn't even smell clean - annoying that I have to bring it someplace else now. Additionally, the first two times I went to pick it up it wasn't ready....when I told the kid that it still looked dirty he was like "its the inside of the plastic bag." The only reason I am giving them 2 stars is because the first batch of clothing I brought there came out great. The second batch however was still dirty; they sprayed some cleaner on it because I can see the marks and the put them on a hanger and plastic and called it clean! I will go back to my previous Dry Cleaners where yes it was double the price, but I did not have to make two trips in order to get my clothes clean. I should have known better when I heard another customer complaining as I was dropping my clothes off! Cost little because the quality of cleaning is little. I thought I was getting an amazing deal, and my clothes have at least looked clean (but have not smelled all that good) until yesterday. Picked up a silk dress ($499) that now has a stain on the back and a stretch in the front of the shoulder. I stopped looking at it after that because I was too upset about it. It's a beautiful dress and I only got to wear it once since buying it. Guess I'm going back to the full price dry cleaners. The old adage is true as ever: you get what you pay for. I picked up 7 items from my regular Massapequa cleaners and was charged $63. I was shocked by how high the dry cleaning prices had become. I then happened to be driving down sunrise Highway in Merrick and saw the 1.99 dry cleaners on the south side and I thought I would give them a chance. I dropped off 13 items, my standard combo of laundering and dry cleaning. I had to prepay the $26 (laundered items $1.69) I get a call 25 minutes later informing me I had left $200 bucks in my pants pocket! It will be waiting when I pick the clothes up the next day. Btw-drop off today retrieve after five Manana. I went back the next day got my $200 and my perfectly dry cleaned clothes. Woohoo! read more

I have been using Pressed Cleaners since they opened. They generally do a decent job with a random exception of heat cracked buttons or a missed wrinkle. While inconvenient, most of the time they replace the button at no charge. I understand the closing during the spike of Covid-19 and glad to see they have re-opened. For many of us who still work full time and need to drop off or pickup outside work hours, the modified 9-5 hours open do not work for us. It would make sense to either open early and close early if needed. This way we could drop off and pick up in the mornings. Seems to be a common sense plan. Hopefully the owner, Jeff, will consider this. read more

Brought 6 pairs of pants here. 4 jeans, 2 black dress work pants. 1 pair of work pants had food dried on the back leg ( I work in food service industry) When I went to wear those pants, the food was still dried on! I had to take a damp rag and wash it off because I needed them that day for work. Can't believe they don't clean the clothes. Yes I know $2 is great but dirty pressed clothes is disgusting! Pressed Cleaners is what Merrick needed. An affordable option for dry cleaning. I like nice garments, but I don't want to pay a zillion dollars at these ridiculous dry cleaners in Merrick to clean them. Pressed does a good job and their staff is awesome. Staffed with local "kids" from the neighborhood, they are always pleasant and funny. Most of these reviewers posting about filthy garments are probably bringing in garments with stains older than my firstborn. They're dry cleaners, not magicians. (although I think I saw one of the workers pull a rabbit out of a guys pants but that's another story) Plus, they stand behind their work so if a garment needs a little "extra", they will redo it for free. And their BEST asset is Eddie, who is a master tailor! I wouldn't trust my tailoring to anyone else. He is amazing! read more

The the slacks came back double creased and dirty still. I took them back, picked up the items only to find several days later slacks belonging to a suit pressed and folded over like jeans. They always required me to pay in advance but tried to get me to pay a second time after their system said they had clothes of mine that had never been paid for. THE GOOD: the turn around and price can not be beat. THE NOT SO GOOD: they don't really clean. If all your clothes need is a freshening and a press then this place is great! However, if your clothes actually get dirty, I suggest pre-washing them in the machine first (if they're not dry clean only) or just taking them somewhere else. Even when I point out a spot that needs a little extra care they still don't really get it clean. And i'm not talking about stains, just your average "dirt" that generally comes out if i work on it with a damp cloth. Have never had pieces come back worse than they went in as noted in other reviews. I've often seen other customers in the store, none of whom were there with complaints in my presence. I brought two items to be altered. The told me the altered items would be ready in 10 days after 5pm. I paid for them upfront as that is what they ask of their customers. I came back 10 days later as the computerized receipt said I should do. I drove 31.5 miles from work in the POURING RAIN to pick up my altered items, I arrived at 4:50pm. The girl at the counter told me they were not ready yet. I looked at my watch and told her I can wait till after 5pm, so I stepped aside. The girl then goes over to the alteration guy and asks about my items and he finds them on their hangers and says it will take some time. I thought the 10 days he said he needed to do the alteration was time. I then walk over to him and ask him what's wrong. He tells me he has 30 other things ahead of my items. HUH? I didn't tell them when I was coming back, they told me when to come back. Then the girl gets the guy from the back to come up front and he tells me come back tomorrow and it will be done. I asked if I was going to be compensated being where I drove from and he said "No", you'll have your stuff tomorrow and to just come back tomorrow. Now do you really think I trust this guy telling me to come back tomorrow? I don't think so. I got a refund of my money and they will never see me again. I rather pay a little more for my dry cleaning then deal with garbage customer service. read more

In a world full of terrible cleaners I will not say they are the very worst but they're down there! They know how to iron a shirt alright but that's about it! They have never gotten a stain out of anything I've ever brought them. I see why they're so cheap they don't actually do anything... the staff is rude ( with the exception of a couple of good eggs in there : the gentleman with the braided hair is always nice and courteous to the elder customers) they will not pick up the phone, even when you have a question regarding the website hours for tailoring which apparently is incorrect as I traveled from Suffolk in bad weather only to be rudely sent away. When I complained the staff member turned his back and me and said sarcastically " sorry". I went on to say how much money I spend in that establishment they should be nicer and was snickered at by the other 2 employees inside.
