I'm under 5 feet. I need things hemmed. My mom said, ever so encouragingly, that I looked like a cult member. So, I went to Jim Dandy, the place I had my prom dress altered, thinking they could do some sort of temporary iron-on fix. Instead, the tailor took the dress, and as I waited nearby (shush, I was a turtleneck, tights and a coat) hemmed it in 10 minutes, during a busy Saturday morning. I never would have expected such service, especially since I hadn't been going there since I moved out eight years ago. Only downside: some of the threads of the cotton fabric pulled a little, perhaps in the rush, which was a little disappointing. But really, beggars can't be choosers, especially when they look like cult members.

I needed the bust taken in and the bottom hemmed - I desperately pleaded with the staff - I knew I was asking a lot in a short amount of time as my flight leaves on FRIDAY AFTERNOON. I got a text message on Thursday at 2:30 PM that my dress was ready... I could not believe they accommodated me so quickly. The women working there were the sweetest and most understanding, I am truly grateful for their quick and high-quality work and I definitely recommend them!

Then I left a spotted evening gown there and I was charged $24 to dry clean it. It came back with the same stain. I took the same dress to a dry cleaners in Plainview and it came back perfect. The chest was stuffed and it was hung beautifully. So in essence it cost me $50 to dry clean. Yesterday, I picked up a pair of pants that were burnt from a pressing after they were altered. I took them there in February to have them altered. I didn't try them on afterwards. (My bad) and it turned out they were never altered! So I returned last week. Now I spent 18.75x 2 for both visits for the same pants. The pants were $49 at Marshall's. I spent almost as much altering them and now they are burnt and not wearable. I'm done with these dry cleaners. Every time I go, they raise their prices.

TDC took great care to prevent wrinkling by packing my suit sleeves with plush pink paper and covering the hanger with sturdy cardboard. TDC further protected my clean clothes by covering them in clear plastic. There were no annoying tickets stapled to the tags inside my clothes.
