This place is a magical land where all of your stains disappear. I don't know how they do it. One time I brought them a garment without even knowing what I got on it. They said to me- (verbatim) "hopefully it's just oil" Absurd?! Does nothing scare them?! What kind of sorcery are they doing here? I don't know, but in 11 years they've never even blinked an eye at the superfluous amount of random drinks and food I've spilled on myself. I ended up moving far away, and I still drive almost an hour just to get my clothes done here because simply put- they are the best. We now have the freedom to buy what we want and actually wear it without the fear of ruining it. I moved out to Long Island from Manhattan and knew I was headed for sub-par dry-cleaning world (among a lot of other things...). So I did the research and Jim Jam came in as best dry cleaner in south shore Nassau in all of the reviews I found. So I drive all the way over there from Baldwin Harbor (just for my stuff. My husband's shirts I drop off local). I found that Jim Jam delivers the kind of care, customer service and attention to detail for my designer clothes, my delicate whites, my favorite things that I got stained and could never possibly remove myself, and whatever else I need, and the expertise is there. They are friendly, atttentive, charming. They have long-term employees who always greet me by name with a smile. I've been using them for just about 10 years now (and am very relieved they survived the Covid dry-cleaning dry spell and reopened, because I was definitely worried for them). They obviously have a strong, steady and devoted customer base and really dont even need Yelp reviews. I felt compelled to write this though because I just punched up Yelp to check their hours for tomorrow and was stunned to see a couple not just negative but nasty reviews. The people writing the bad reviews are probably those types who are never happy anywhere and come on Yelp just to complain about everything everywhere -- or work for competing dry cleaners, because their experience couldn't be further from the truth, in my experience. First, most expensive dry cleaners I've ever been to. $24 for a men's suit (2 pieces). Then they changed their Saturday hours till 4pm. However their own computer generated receipt says 6pm and so does the internet. And now that they're closed for a week, my clothes are stuck there. To make matters worse there was a man there when I arrived just before 5pm to pick up clothes for a wedding party, for a wedding tomorrow. You would think, if anything Jim Jam would have stayed open till 6 the day before they close for a week for vacation. Already found a new cleaner! read more

Very poorly ran business! The owner is completely distraught and very offensive! Stephen"owner"has no respect for good paying customers. The clothes aren't done on the scheduled date there supposed to be. My clothes have been lost,misplaced or somewhere. The prices are high! Every 3to 6months there is an increase in the service price wise. There is always a long wait to either drop off,or pick up clothes! Patience is a virtue! However, with Jim Jam,eventually whatever Patience being exercised,definitely gets exhausted! It's incredible if you put the effort in,you may find other cleaning establishments so much more worthy and alot more cheaper! With no waiting, no outrageously expensive prices,and same day service! I've been a customer of Jim jam dry cleaners for quite a while. This summer while my home was under repair My family and I moved out for the summer, While at my temporary residence I chose to use another dry cleaner in order to shorten my journey. What I discovered was that the quality and work that I had gotten used to from Jim Jam was nowhere to be found. The way my clothes are prepared for me especially my wife's garments is exceptional The care placed in each individual garment can be easily seen. And what I have learned is that there is no substitute so I choose drive all the way back to Merrick , So I guess the moral of my story is that once you've been to Jim jam dry cleaners The rest just won't cut it . read more

I had to find another cleaners because the one by me closed. Jim-Jam is 1/2 mile down from me and sits right next to the southern state pkwy. What I like about them is I took my work shirts to them to iron and even though I was a new customer they knew immediately who I was when i walked in the door. I used to go to another cleaner in Merrick I thought to be fine until I found Jim Jam and realized our old cleaners were horrible! Jim Jam has amazing staff that are friendly and attentive. They remember my phone number, take my clothes to my car for me, and will get me my clothes back when I need them instead of me having to wait a week which is what I had to do with my prior cleaners. Probably the best cleaner in Nassau County. Not only did they manage to remove ball-point pen ink from a brand new white jacket, (nobody else could) but they did it FAST and in a super-friendly way . The owner and staff actually remembered me (and my jacket) before I had time to get the claim ticket out, even though I was a first-time customer and it was several days after the item was dropped off. The only challenge is pulling into the parking lot. (It's located on the corner of Jerusalem Ave and Merrick Ave, just North of the Southern State). If you decide to check them out, you'll see what I mean. It's definately worth the effort though...they are my official go-to cleaner from now on, even if I have to use a helicopter for drop offs! And by the way, the service station diagonally across Merrick Ave. is pretty damn good as well. They noticed my inspection sticker was expired and manged to take care of it even though it was getting close to closing time. Great people, great service. Don't know the name of the place, but there's a giant coffee cup strapped to the roof, if that helps. read more

Love this dry cleaner. I have been going here for about 3 years. The customer service here is amazing. The owner knows me right away. I think he has a photographic memory, because after the first time going here he knew my phone number by heart. If he sees me before I come in the store, he comes to my car to take my clothing so that I don't have to take my infant out of his car seat.
