Iits been a while since I got such a terrible manicure for a loooong time!!! My nails are so sensitive since the manicure girl polished it too hard and too much, so my nails now so thin (even though the previous manicure was build-up and she took of that one completely and my own nails are damaged, do sensitive, I can't wash a dish! This is an excellent, reliable nail spa in the Birch and Broad shopping center. They offer lots of services including spa mani-pedi and waxing. I go here every so often and have never had a bad experience. I often go by myself but occasionally bring my mom who has Alzheimer's. They are incredibly patient and kind with her, and are always willing to accommodate her and our needs, which allows her to do something relaxing that she's always enjoyed. This makes so much of a difference in our lives. All of the technicians are wonderful, too! Be sure to bring cash for a tip. read more

I have been going to Present Nail Salon for many years. For the past few years I have been putting up with very mediocre pedicures. I recently had the best pedicure of my life when I was on vacation in Florida for 2/3 the cost of this salon. I went yesterday and it was terrible. My nails are not shaped, the massage was non-existent and the polish is not well applied. I have observed over the past few years that it seems to be a revolving door of people right off the boat with no experience. It's hard to get the same person twice. I wanted to like this salon since it's nearby, but I've tried three times and two were a miss. Most recently, my manicurist didnt speak to me until well into the appointment. She rolled her eyes when I asked her not once, but twice, to fix the shape of the nails because they were still jagged from the clippers. She left quite a few rough cuticle/skin edges and she haphazardly painted my nails which resulted in paint on my skin. The final straw was that she wouldn't even get up out of her seat at the last table and check me out at the front desk. Outside of this, I question some of their hygiene practices. The bowl and rocks they use to soak your nails at the beginning do not appear to be cleaned between each customer, just rinsed and stored wet in a drawer by the sink. I didnt see my manicurist get clean tools, as they were already out when I got to the table after picking my color - not saying they weren't clean, just that I didn't witness it. Finally, I saw one worker take a foot file out of a random drawer at a manicure table and use it on her customer. Bottom line, this place is hit or miss. If you're lucky to get one of the good one then it may be ok - but still keep an eye on their cleanliness. read more

During my manicure today, the technician cut my cuticles too deep causing a bleeding cut on two of my fingers. What's worse is she didn't even say anything, just wiped the blood away as though this is a normal occurrence. Came in the for the first time the Friday before Christmas as a walk-in. Being that Fri/Saturdays are usually very busy, I assumed there would be a bit of wait. I was greeted with a smile and only had to wait about 10 mins before being helped. The tech was friendly and efficient. I keep my nails pretty short, so not much can be done with shaping them. The polish I chose had been discontinued, but they helped my find a similar color, which looked fine. I gave 4 stars as there are a few messy spots around nail-beds and the hand massage was brief, otherwise I'm pleased with the results. Would definitely recommend overall. This place is my favourite place. Always had a great experience but not this time. I guess nail art is not everyone's game. My technician missed steps as filing and buffing my toes. I reminded her; she buffed one of my pinky toe and commented how tiny my pinky toe is - no disagreement but that was it. She moved on to applying nail polish. I started to get concerned as application was too bumpy, uneven and left gaps. She redid one of my big toe but same. Then she said top coat will correct it - nope see the pic. Even top coat was uneven. I gave up. All I wanted to do was to pay and leave. I truly didn't want to tip her but she checked me out and stood there. So I left her a tip. Salon management should consider to have someone else (not the same technician) to check out customers. At least I could have asked not to give me the same technician if I come back. For those who love Essie nail polish (like me), Present now offers ALL 36 colors in Essie's new gel polish line! I've neglected my hands and toes for a few months now due to my busy schedule and decided to make an appointment with my go-to, Connie, to pamper myself. Although I usually go with OPI Gel nail polish, I was surprised to see the new Essie colors! If you Google the colors online, you can also see the names of their non-gel counterparts if you want a matching mani/pedi. Add $25 on top of your manicure or polish change for gel polish... Was in the area and needed to get my eyebrows waxed, so I stopped in here. They were really busy for a Friday night and had a lot of people getting their nails done. I can't really comment on that... maybe I'll try them for a pedicure one day. But on to my comments about waxing... Eyebrows are $10 - you can find cheaper elsewhere. I probably do about 10 waxings a year x the last 10 years... I've had probably about 100 waxes in my lifetime. For me it doesn't hurt. The woman doing my eyebrows kept freaking out every time she was about to pull the wax off. She would always pause - and then pull - and then press down on my face and say SORRRRYYYYY! Omg. I was like I'm fine. I just wanted to get it over with not because it hurt but because she was being so prissy! Just rip em off already! But she made them a nice shape (not too thin - I hate that) so it turned out to be ok. I could just do without all the dramatics. Oh and she also asked me if I wanted my lip done. SIgh. I know they are all about upselling but come on. Are you telling me I need my lip waxed? God help me when the day comes that I have a full grown mustache. smh. read more

This nail salon is tucked away in a very crowded plaza on Rt. 7. I wasn't intending to go here--I just saw the "nails" sign from the street and pulled in, because I needed a manicure. It's modern, clean, and bright with about 10 manicure stations and 10 pedicure stations. Staff is friendly and color selection is fine, but nothing amazing. I don't remember my tech's name, but she was friendly and did a good job (though her conversation was straight out of Anjelah Johnson's "Nail Salon" skit). However, at $17 for manicure, it was no better than a $12 manicure, and with $12-$15 being the norm, I'd not return to Present. read more

I don't usually leave reviews but this one i feel like i need to. Especially because i know believe my toe is INFECTED with PUSS. I went in last night for a pedi/fill with gel polish. My hands turned out wonderful, once i corrected the shape. The color i think the manager or owner picked out and it really is pretty. My pedicure on the other hand was a different story. Though great massage and removing of the dead skin on the bottom of my foot. I felt the technician really hounded on what she said were ingrown toe nails...... she said they were bad, however i really hadn't felt pain in them seeing as i had a pedicure 2.5 weeks prior and get them every two weeks. I let her do her work but she really did work on my right big toe and it got painful. I jerked back a few times and she continued. To the point where i bled and it hurt. And I've never been in pain for a pedicure before. And honestly was too tired to just walk out (which i never do) because it honestly was too painful for full price. Like i said she did my hands nicely but i left with pain in my toes. And she was so fixed on a "in grown nail" that she didn't file the rest of my toes and i had to at home later. By the time i went to bed last night my toe was in so much pain i had to take Advil. And honestly was hoping it was a mishap. but when i woke up i was still in pain. I've finally had the courage to look and i saw yellow puss. I'm not happy. My toe is red and extremely hurts to the touch... even an accidental touch from my kid. I'm calling my doctor in the morning to set up an appointment to confirm. But it's painful, there is puss and I'm exceedingly not happy... especially for $88 before tip. read more

Pros: Front desk is very friendly, technician took her time, spa seemed clean Cons: I asked for polka-dots on my nails and the tech had no clue what I was saying (pretty much spoke no English) but yet she didn't call anyone over to help her understand- I finally had to call the front desk person over to ask him to explain what I wanted, the polka dots were then applied on JUST my big toe using a toothpick, to top it all off, they charged me $12 for a few measly micro-dots, also when she was doing the scrub, she left some between my toes and it was very irritating with the hot towels over it, the tech pretty much avoided my heels which are the parts of my feet that needed the most help. I really want to like this nail spa considering the reviews, but maybe I didn't get the right technician or received an off day. I came here for a regular pedicure and overall the service was okay. My nails were not cut short enough and unfortunately I didn't really notice until after the polish comes on. In addition, the cut was uneven, making it uncomfortable when wearing shoes. The polish started to chip after a week. I do really like that they line the pedicure basin. To me that's a HUGE plus. However, I did notice some basin already had liners in them with water. Which makes me wonder if they truly line it up fresh when I got there. After experiencing an infection from another spa, basin hygiene is so, so important to me. No reaction while I'm here so all is good! They have a great selection of brands including some name brands and breathable Zoya. I picked that and it could've contributed to the early chipping. They did not use the Zoya bottom and top coat, just the regular one (which negates the point of having a breathable nail polish). The service was good and the staff were friendly. I'm just okay with the results but willing to try them again some other time! read more

I came here in December 2021 for an acrylic manicure and regular pedicure. The woman who did my nails was in a rush and did not have a clean desk to do my nails. No towel laid down on the desk. This time I was here a few days ago and I got ripped off. Charged me $92 for a gel acrylic manicure and regular pedicure. All I got was a simple color, no designs and short nails. Update RE: liners - I randomly saw a post complaining about these. I thought that I may help for consideration. 1) I've asked and they discard all liners for recycling after use 2) the liners are for YOUR personal heath and safety - I got a fungal infection on my big toe from a previous nail salon that did not use liners and it literally took 2 years to grow out. Others have also had this personal experience (like myself) and personally request the liners and 3) it's a general trend to use the liner now. Some states public health policies actually mandate it now. Also, for you to consider - this is actually costing the salon $ and they have not increased pricing. I've been going to this salon for several years now. It makes me sad to read reviews based on one new technician when the overall experience is good. The overall decor is modern and serene but, most importantly, the cleanliness/hygiene (they use those disposable plastic liners in the pedi tubs!) and service is what makes this salon stand out. I started going here b/c I have horrible cuticles and this was the first salon I had ever been to that took special care with this. And, my nails have always looked great - I always get a gel mani and a pedi there. And, they always carry the newest colors of the season and as well with the newest technology (e.g. chromographic polish, new gel light boxes). I honestly highly recommend at least giving this place a try if you have not yet. I promise it's completely worth it! read more
