When i called back they said they could not do it, i asked what had changed because the voicemail said they could. She responded "Okay have a good one" and hung up. I cannot recommend premiere salon enough. First: IT IS an Aveda salon, but no one pressures you to buy products! Phew! ‍ but in the past I've most definitely purchased products because 1. It smelt amazing and 2. The product did what I wanted, but was never offered or asked to buy the product. Second: regardless of who I've seen to have a hair cut services.... 100% amazing. This salon clearly selects stylist who are skilled and talented. Third: I noticed a "place to sit" in the "lobby" since my last review (likely on google reviews); (Thankfully, this most recent journey to this salon I'm not pregnant) there is some sort of seating. I recognize this is a small salon. Half merchandise, half salon, but there is the seat if you do in fact need to sit. Finally, I've gone to this salon for short haircuts, which can be "scary," but I've been nothing but pleased. It is now my "go-to" in Olympia." The stylist are incredible and the products they used an are amazing. I don't know if it's just me, but love the simplicity when it comes to "styling" my hair. I am super basic and don't want the over the top "styling." I want a style that is practical for me and a style that I know I can do on my own, especially when it comes to a shorter/bob -type hairstyle. Overall, very pleased and have had my hair cut here in medium to short hair styles. I even brought my daughter to get her hair trimmed here! Worth the money, the time, and the trust! read more

Update: After being harassed on Yelp by the salon's former employee Trisha D. on March 8 2019, I told the owner Kelly about what happened and she explained that Trisha is the one who did my hair back in August 2018, which apparently is why Trisha decided to harass me online, sending me messages telling me I was ugly. I reported her to Yelp and Trisha has been warned for her bullying behavior. Trisha has also apparently been targeting and harassing the salon, especially the owner. Kelly also kindly offered me a full refund for my stressful experience. I appreciate her efforts and think it's unfortunate that people like Trisha feel the need to personally insult clients because they are too incompetent to follow directions, and too immature to move on, grow up, and learn their profession. read more

I was referred to someone working here by my friend - her hair always looks AMAZING so I wanted to get in for a root touch up. I was quoted $175+ which I was happy to pay, booked as normal, and the day before my appointment I was contacted by my stylist because she had double booked herself and she didn't have time to get me in. Simple understanding ‍ I get it. So I rebooked with her for a week out, that next appointment day I got a message saying she again had to reschedule as another client was taking longer...I was a little upset but felt I was more than understanding with her and booked again after all I have thick, curly hair and even a root touch up is about 2-3hours with any stylist I've been to - this time 2 weeks out was her soonest available so I took off work for it. 2 weeks later, the day of, I get a message that she isn't coming in that day and to call the salon to reschedule. So I did - but with someone else from Premier Salon who had an opening that next Sunday - I felt bad moving onto swine one else but at the same time I need to get my hair done you know? what's one more week right? Well - day of that appointment, I get a call 45 minutes prior when I'm already driving to the appointment (I live quite far out) and the front desk tells me that this new person can't come in today and did I want to rebook. This time they're booking for the end of August - i asked to get in for a consultation just because at this point my hair is grown out past what my stylist would expect. After a certain amount of grow out a "root touch up" becomes a "color correction" I got in that day with another person for that consult (they all run on the same pricing) and was now quoted about $275 for what was now a "color correction" by this stylists thinking, rather than roots because I'd been pushed out by all these re-bookings...I declined booking again and decided to get in somewhere else. Now I do understand that these things happen and I'm not "hating" on the facility but the fact not one person said "sorry for the inconvenience" - and I understand it comes off as "tone deaf" and maybe I'm just crazy in my thinking but I don't feel that someone who booked for one thing and continuously has been pushed out should have to pay for a whole other thing when it's not my fault for being pushed out so far to where it changes my price....I went to beauty school and was a stylist for years so i do know what works goes into getting hair done and the daily stresses. But I just find it crazy that it could happen. I gave 2 starts because I know some good hair work comes out of here and I'm not some crazy disgruntled customer trying to make people not go there...just wanted to share my experience. read more

Had a great experience at the salon today. Ryan fixed my hair and took his time to make sure it was perfect and what I wanted.

The vibe of the place is appropriately small and Intimate for the price point. That being said, the haircut I received was one of the worst I've had in the past couple of years. They gave me and styled me with a different product than the one I had requested--not a huge deal I went back and exchanged it after confirming that the product I wanted still exists. I have a basic variation of a fade--not an exotic cut at all and it was shorter than I initially wanted(also totally fine it will grow out)--but the blending needs more than touched up, the side of my hair that flips out is cut at such a length that product can't hold it down but it's just long enough to poof off my head so I have one flat square side and one rounded poofy looking side. Towards the back of my head where my cowlick is and running up the now square side of my head the differing lengths of my hair don't blend and can't be battened down in such a way as to make the line appear clean or intentional. The front of my hair is now also plagued with flyaways too short and numerous to do anything about. I didn't even realize that was possible with less than three inches of hair. I had a nurse offer to grab her blending shears and touch me up while at work this week without me even mentioning the cut. The conversation was good and they were very understanding about exchanging my product thus improving my review to its present level. If you're a man in need of a cut, go elsewhere. If you're a man in need of product, Aveda will always do you right. read more

Came here with high hopes after reading the positive yelp reviews and knowing that they carry Aveda products, which I've taken a liking to. However, when I got home my wife was horrified to see how poorly my hair was actually cut. The back was very uneven (see picture) and the rest of my hair didn't get thinned out/layered like you would expect from a regular guy's haircut. I was pretty disappointed, since I paid 2.5 times more than my normal place to get a cut here. Maybe it was a bad day for the stylist but I won't be going back. read more

I pre-booked my appointments months in advance this last appointment they forgot to save my appointment I got there and I was not on the schedule. Instead of trying to give me a better option for fitting me in The receptionist just said sorry. I've always felt The receptionist was very rude, she was the same receptionist that booked my appointment originally obviously did not save it! I just got a hair cut with Cat and I will most definitely be a new regular for her at Premiere. She heard what I wanted (to go from waist length hair to a short bob) and when asked for advice was happy to give it. She took her time on my hair and did exactly what I wanted! I have thick hair and short cuts can be difficult. But it looks and feels so good! I also must say that they didn't push products on me and instead just asked if there was anything I needed and had recommendations if I came to them needing some. Be careful that the appointment that you book is the one that you receive. After a few times of being charged for full highlights when I had booked partial highlights, and even calling to confirm that I was booked for a partial highlight and what the price would be, I ended up being charged a full highlight yet again. When I complained to the owner, she said that I needed a full highlight due to the pandemic and how long it had been since I had been in there last. She also mentioned that it's not their policy to give pricing over the phone which I don't understand as good customer service includes a transparent pricing structure. Premiere Salon & Spa is simply the best salon in Olympia for a men's haircut. The prices are reasonable and the staff are personable and professional. A few years ago I started seeing Tiffany and she has consistently done excellent work. From my very first appointment Tiffany took her time and made sure to provide me the very best cut and style possible. I've changed my hair style at least twice over the past few years and Tiffany always nails it, creating a style that is even better than what I was expecting or intended. Tiffany also provides touch-up appointments between my regular appointments, which makes the whole experience so much more enjoyable. Additionally, Kelly and Lauren are always a joy to see, and everyone at Premiere is super accommodating with my hectic schedule. I think the key to a successful business is your customers. Premiere Salon & Spa staff understand this and work really hard to provide the best customer service possible to their clients. Having your hair cut and styled should be a relaxing, stress-free experience, which is why I keep coming back to this Aveda salon. Finding a hair salon in Olympia that provides excellent customer service and a superior men's haircut can be challenging, but Premiere Salon does both very well. Highly recommended. read more

While I am not going to retract my previous review, I will give five stars to the stylist who did the correction, and the manager, who was very accommodating. I am amazed that Christopher managed to make what was left of my hair look not just tolerable, but actually great. He understood right away what needed to be fixed, talked me through his ideas, and overall did an incredible job. The bowl on top of my head is hardly noticeable, it blends really nicely, and the length is now balanced. I will definitely go to him in the future. I've been going to Premiere Salon and Spa for a year or two and absolutely love this place. I've had hair and nail stuff done by Jori and Lindsay. I've also had a few waxes and massages done here, but I can't remember the names of the ladies who provided those services. Luckily, everyone here is really nice and helpful. I will only go to Jori when it comes to coloring. She is absolutely amazing - whether you want something that is natural or more fun. She is very creative when it comes to using color. I like to switch things up and Jori always has an idea that will give me something new to work with, but isn't over the top or drastically different. She is also great at eyebrows. She knows when I need to get them tinted or if they're the right color naturally. She never over shapes and works with my natural arch. It's a comfort to know that I can walk in, tell Jori to do whatever, and won't regret it! I've tried a lot of colors and the Aveda products make my hair feel so healthy, shiny, and soft. My husband loves how I smell when I come home from the salon. It's the hairspray that he ultimately gets a whiff of and I must say it really works! Whether I get my hair styled straight or curled it always keeps it hold, yet my hair feels like it doesn't have any products in it at all. I must let it be known that my hair cannot hold curl for more than an hour or so, unless I use this hairspray. Plus, it works no matter what the humidity is outside. So, if you're looking for a local place where you will come out looking great, can get almost anything done, and really enjoy the people's company stop into Premiere! read more

The receptionist did not even look up when I walked in the door, but she was very nice. Decent cut. The stylist was nice, not overly chatty and seemed to know what she was doing. She started out by giving me a two minute scalp massage with some kind of fragrance-infused stuff. (They don't even do this at Gene Juarez.) I have been searching for a new stylist for the last year and a half and received many less than mediocre cuts/colors. I saw Rene for a color/cut combo. She did a great job gauging my nervousness about the decision to drastically cut my medium length hair off very short. She is good at listening and hearing what I said between the lines. The picture I brought had bangs, but she suggested a couple wispy fringes instead and she was totally right on the money. The color job was good though I had hoped for a few more blonde highlights. This wasn't her fault though, and she did a nice job with the foiling. I am looking forward to trying other products they offer like massage and skin care. They are a huge retailer of Aveda and the entire shop smells so good. The price is right as well. I paid 110.00 (44.00 for the cut.) This place is conveniently located next to the Olympia Farmer's Market. Love to get a cut then get a coffee at Bats and walk the market and boardwalk. read more

I have been dying my hair blonde for almost 2 decade. I am actually a very dark brunette and am always challenged with achieving a natural blonde look. Premier salon and spa is hands-down the best salon I have come across in achieving that natural look that I've been searching. I moved to Washington four years ago and during my first two years of salon searching my hair was utterly damaged by other salons. I arrived at premier salon and spa with hair that felt like straw and breaking off at my scalp. After almost 2 years of going to Lauren, my hair looks absolutely gorgeous and healthy. She creates this multiple shades of blonde that look incredibly natural while getting my hair back to a healthy state. I am constantly getting compliments on my hair color. Monique just highlighted and cut my hair. I went in for a last minute appointment, it worked out that she was available for two hours, I was a first timer....she listened to my "idea" of what I wanted....I explained that with my blonde hair being so dark now, I wanted highlights that didn't look like "oh she has a bunch of highlights" but ...to look natural and FRESH.... SHE LISTENED. My highlights were not obvious, but my hair is lightened to a natural fresher look, the cut was just right, my hair looks the best it has looked in a looong time. I've been going to Premiere for years and absolutely love them! Kelly is my stylist and is nothing short of a color genius. My 13 year old son absolutely adores Laura who not only gives him a great cut every time but always makes him feel like the coolest cat in the room. A little pricey by Olympia standards but totally reasonable when compared to other Aveda salons especially when you consider the fact they sponsor community events as well as offer medical benefits and paid time off to their staff, I don't know how many other locally owned salons do that but I'm guessing not very many. I signed up for Yelp to write a review of this salon. I made an appointment with the owner of the salon to have ombré style highlights done to my hair. I had a big event coming up and wanted to add some special highlights. I didn't notice how awful the job was until my coworkers, family and friends starting asking me after I came out of the salon, "oh my goodness, what happened your hair and who did it?!?" The dye job created a line half way between my dark brown hair and the now orange-tinted tips. No foil was used whatsoever. It was awful. I came home from work and actually cried. Let me also say that this was the SECOND time that I was in the salon for highlights as the first time I went into the salon, my $175 (+$15 tip, I have receipt) dye job didn't work. That's right. They charged me for a dye job with foil that didn't work. I called them and they offered me the opportunity to come back, which was generous, but then proceeded to destroy my hair with this terrible dye job. I had to go back a THIRD time to have the color corrected - I wouldn't have gone back except that the event was right around the corner and I didn't have any time to spare. When I went back for the THIRD time the woman at the front desk made this snarky comment, "oh, you don't like it?" My jaw dropped from the continued lack of professionalism I was experiencing. The owner met me for the THIRD VISIT, to correct the awful mess she created just days before. While I appreciate that they corrected the damage in time for my special event, this salon lacks overall skill and professionalism. My recommendation to you is to save your time, your money and your hair and employ a salon that will do an excellent job the first time. read more

This is my regular barbershop (sounds more masculine), and Chelsea does a great job. A haircut comes to about 45 bucks with tip, and I think it's worth it. When you're done you can zip next door to Batdorf for a caffeine fix, or go across the street to the Farmers' Market to check out the wares. read more

Just here to give a plug to their massage therapist, Deeana. Technically proficient and accommodating, putting me at ease. Very professional. Prices are competitive compared to other therapists in the area. The room isn't as quiet as other massage businesses, because they have a busy salon practice outside the door. However after about 10 minutes under Deeana's hands, I didn't even notice the hustle and bustle outside. Bottom line: I will definitely consider coming back the next time I decide to splurge on a 90 minute massage. read more
