The receptionist was a very nice and helpful. When it was time for my massage I could not have anticipated how great it was going to be. Heated table, hot rocks, cups, everything you could ask for. My therapist was very good at asking questions and making sure I was comfortable. She did the best massage I've ever had and I played college football so I've had many. I signed up for the membership because it is actually a very good deal and saves you a nice chunk of money. I will be going back weekly. As a former college athlete and current rodeo athlete I highly recommend this place to anyone. Thank you to everyone at Ballaura spa.

I have been getting massages for over 15 years on a twice a month if not once a month. The staff…read morewas friendly, clean work space and as you walk in feels more of an earthly/incense store vibe. However as we got into talked the hot spots I would like to focus on, and which was odd for me as usually that's where someone would start or have you lay face down, instead it was face up. Where I feel it was like a massage envy type vibe where they don't just give you fully what you want and try to make you come back for another one. The hot towel and cupping was great however didn't seem like the person knew what they were fully doing. Lastly I know the cost of living has went up, but this was my first and last visit as no reason why someone should be paying $200+ for a massage period. I have found and had better from others in the area. Update: management did reach out in attempt to help solve future issues and provide a complimentary service.

A Thai massage is traditionally performed fully clothed on a mattress on the floor. It is known as the lay man's yoga as you are stretched and massaged. I always feel a few inches taller afterwards. I mentioned at least three times my left arm hurt. The 90 minutes went by fast...I looked at the clocked and realized she hadn't really done my arms yet, as she had been focusing on my hips legs, etc, but I mentioned a couple times about my arm, soni thought there might be some more focus there, but I was wrong. I mentioned during my massage I was looking for a weekly gig. When we checked out, I was not offered the next slot available, and instead was told to check out other providers, as they might be a better fit.. I felt rejected, like she didn't want to work on me, possibly due to my weight. I don't know, but I felt like I wasn't entirely welcome back, as no additional appointments were offered or encouraged nor booked.

Emilie at Emzone Massage is a miracle worker!!! If you get massages regularly, you know when your…read moretherapist has the 'massage spidey-sense' and can let their hands guide them to the spots you need help with. Em has this quality in SPADES! I am a former massage practitioner, and while I'll take a massage from anyone, I seek out a professional who can feel their way through through my musculature and tendons, who is attuned to my breathing and any subtle changes I may make so they adjust their pressure and check in with me about my comfort. I have found Em, and I'm not letting her go!! Her availability gets more limited each time I see her, and as much as I would LOVE to keep her a secret so I can get an appointment whenever I want, this woman performs incredible bodywork and deserves as much business as she wants to handle. She is set up to take credit/debit, her new location appears to be a co-op of wellness workers with each provider meeting their clients in the joint reception area. Conveniently located in West Olympia, about 2 minutes from the 101 Automall exit. She will customize music to your preference, if you have one, and I promise you will walk out of there feeling like a new person. Be sure to drink lots of water after, with any massage, but especially if you go for deep tissue; Emilie has some great strength and is not afraid to use it to tenderize even the tightest of knots.

I was fortunate enough to experience Barbara's Pure Pleasure (Deep Slow Flow Massage) and I have to…read moresay that it felt truly amazing! I am a massage therapist, and a picky one at that, and I was hovering right around cloud nine the entire time. What made it so great? Well, there were actually a lot of things, some of which are really too hard to describe here. But here are a couple things that really stood out for me. Barbara mixed her lotion/balm specifically for me and my skin and adjusted it to get just the right texture for my massage. Her work was very slow and she used long, luxurious strokes that never seemed to end. They were calming and challenging at the same time, which I really loved. I think the bottom line is that I just felt completely taken care of and the work completely reset me physically, neurologically and emotionally. 10,000 thank yous Barbara, I can't wait to get on your table again. I had a wonderful nearly 2-hour massage with Barbara on a Saturday morning. I walked up to her…read morebeautifully converted Victorian house, which seems to have a mix of personal and professional spaces (i.e. her massage room and some apartments?) It was not a typical relaxing spa massage, but rather a cerebral and interesting massage that left me relaxed and revived, with some homework on how to walk to better support and settle my S-I joint. Barbara doesn't just rub your muscles, but rather works your muscles and skeleton together to make sure that everything is properly aligned and working as it should - she encourages mobility AND relaxation. So this means that sometimes there are some pretty weird things that happen - at one point, I ended up on the massage table with my knee up to my chest, twisting over to the side in what was more of a yoga pose than any massage experience I'd had up to that day. But what was neat about this is that I'm definitely better able to twist on one side than the other, and it's due to some stiffness in the aforementioned S-I joint. See what I mean about this being somewhat cerebral? Anyhow, I have already recommended Barbara to a couple of my friends and plan on going back. I went in with some sports-related aches and pains and came out refreshed, revived, and truly interested in learning more.
