Also, people actually seem to happy to be working here and not overwhelmed. I never saw residents so happy before and I've had many clients at many different facilities. They had a lot of activities for the clients to do as well for everybody no matter what level they were. Nobody got to just stay in their rooms! They had things I had never seen or even heard of being offered anywhere else. They are also very kind and professional and grateful to any outside help that came in whether the family hired the person or they were just there volunteering. Other facilities have been very hostile. They also encourage religious beliefs here where other places even so-called religious places are actually very hostile towards anything religious. People are also humble here they are not so full of themselves. I'm glad to see that the prices have come down some it was $10,000/mo for my patient and family still needed to hire me but of course she was for lack of a better way of putting it, a very unusual type of patient in addition to being paralyzed from the neck down. She was great though And it was my honor to be able to assist her. I'm a hard one to impress in this place did it.

We were fortunate to find Maple Manor as a place where he could do his rehab with the care of an excellent staff over-seeing him 24/7. We were at Maple Manor for almost 3 straight months and we can't say enough positive things. The nurses were consistently knowledgeable, helpful and extremely kind to my father. At no point, did we ever see anyone "having a bad day" and taking it out on my father. They were the utmost professionals. The nurses were very intelligent, always had a smile on their face and consistently made sure my father was comfortable and happy. I should also note that they were always nice and welcoming to my mother who stayed with my father every day. The physical therapists and occupational therapists are also top notch. Not only were they kind and patient, but they did great work with my father. I can't recommend them enough. The staff at the facility were always accommodating and went out of their way to make sure my father's needs were taken care of. Whether it was people at the back office, front desk or the janitorial staff, everyone did a wonderful job. Any time we had a suggestion or complaint it was immediately addressed. Finally, Dr. JJ and Dr. Stella were amazing to work with. They really treated my parents like extended family. Thank you so much to everyone at Maple Manor. Do not take anyone you love to this place for care!!!! My Mother was in here only because I was so…read morerushed by the hospital to find a place and this is one they recommended to me. I had no time to investigate these places to make a more informed decision. It may look nice, but the nurses and care are subpar. My mother had a bad attack during the night and begged to go to a hospital, and they told her she didn't need a hospital. How do they know? No doctor there! When she (my mother) finally was able, she called me in the middle of the night and told me what happened to her and I was livid. After feeling that my mother was stable, I told her that I would call there and find out what was going on. I rang every phone number that I had for hours. The next morning, I went in and asked why in the h**l no one answers the phone all night they said no one is by the phones all night. I asked what if it's an emergency and they just blew me off. I said I want the doctors name that is in charge of my mother's care and they said that they weren't sure who it was because the doctor is new and they had no number. I said you don't know who the doctor is and they have no office number and they said they don't know it. It was also during covid, and it was running rampant in there. Every day on the door, that is where they put the count for the building, the count was growing higher. One reason was because the nurses were taking care of all the patients instead of having certain nurses working with just the covid patients as to not infect other patients. My mother couldn't always remember to wear a mask even though I reminded her, so I told the nurses make sure she is not going to rehab without one on. She said they just forget sometimes. I told her no, there is no forgetting. You have to go back to the room to get it than before continuing. So, I wanted to have her released but they said no I had to wait until 30 days was up for the insurance. They said if I tried to take her out sooner that they would report me to the insurance and we would be responsible for the last 30 days. So, On the 30th day I sent a medical van to pick her up and bring her home as she was getting quite ill at this time and as a family, we wanted her to pass at home with her family around. This place said you better have a home health care set up or we will report you. I told them are you people insane. I would never have my mom come home without the proper care. They said who are they we are going to call them. I told them who we had coming out, and they could call whoever they wanted but we are leaving NOW! I am so glad I was able to get my mom home before she passed, she lived another 6 months with her family all around her. Please if you care about your loved one do not go here!

I had to help the aide get my aunt cleaned and dressed while stepping in an unsanitary bathroom. Awful place. It was horrific. Drs. were awful (one and only doctor I saw wouldn't look up from his laptop when I said my concern about my aunt spitting up blood.) Manager uncaring and unqualified. Nurses were not qualified(I pointed out obvious concerns about taking 6 pills at once an empty stomach. Nurse said wow I never thought about that point. They asked me if I thought she go to the hospital. Leaving it up to their medical expertise was a mistake . They said will we give her an anemia and see what happens. She died that night.

It's truly sad when you are met with dry, surly inconsistent reception from staff. When individuals seek out facilities like these it is a cry for help with your physical and mental wellbeing. Why should I believe I am able to get better service from a fast food restaurant than a medical facility that I have placed the total care of myself or loved ones. I believe the entire staff should require weekly if not daily sensitivity training reinforced with a performance management regimen. I am not blaming the warm body that was hired to fill a slot. I blame leadership for hiring and allowing this less than substandard behavior. In other words, 'you are only as good as your leadership team.' If an employee respects their leadership and has been trained properly, they would never put them (and the organization) in a bad light. I am now expanding my search for a more suitable facility. It should be a calling for those that wish to work in the field of patient care and not simply a paycheck. He was not impressed with the results and neither was I. He suggested that he perform a manipulation to make the knee more flexible for therapy. He also suggested that I change Therapist and recommended Tony Greene at Athletico in Commerce Twp. I have had quite of bit of therapy on my body over the years but I never had such personal attention as I had with Tony. Daily PT on my knee with Tony for the next 5 weeks made all the difference in the world. He worked me hard (which I wanted) and his massaging really help break up the scar tissue. The amenities here include an indoor pool, an onsite medical center, 2 fitness centers, physical/occupational therapy, a hobby shop, and 6 restaurants, you can always find great food to eat here.
