Dr. McCarty was confident and reassuring that the disc replacement surgery was going to eliminate the pain. My surgery was done at HVSH in mid-October. I woke up in the recovery room and I had zero pain. I couldn't believe at first. I was already walking in the hospital 5 hours later with a nurse without any pain. I had a wonderful experience with this doctor and the office as a whole. I had on and off knee…read morepain that would never heal, the MRI showed frayed muscle tissue. My knee was often swelling and locking. The doctor did an outpatient surgery to clean things up and found broken off piece of cartilage which caused the locking. After the surgery, it healed well and I will unconditionally recommend this doctor based on my experience. My physical therapist initially recommended this group of doctors and I am very happy with the outcome. I cannot wait to get strong again and be more mobile and live a better life. (Phys therapist was Omnikinetics in Birmingham.) I feel fortunate to have great doctors and therapists on this journey to getting back active.

They have the option of having the underwater treadmill which is a very rare thing to find in any physical rehabilitation center and all of their locations have that. Her hands on work is great. I've seen a lot of improvement in my back issues. To help me stay on track with continuing to do my exercises, I will be doing the gym program they offer next.
