This site does a good job of keeping up with all of the care you have had. I messaged through the portal that I needed to see my Dr and they got me in in 2 days time. It was quick and easy. I them received follow up texts and emails for verification purposes. When I arrived for my appt, check in was quick. They collected my co-pay and I was called back within 15 min. Everyone was friendly and professional. In the past, I have also done PT at this location. No complaints about that either. Just ask questions --- be sure you understand the process.

I screamed bloody murder to let me out the 1st time so they adjust the foam airplane earplugs and put hard flat plastic panels on each ear. They slid me in again and again I was screaming screaming let me out. I was pulling up my head and body which I strained trying to get out. It was unbearable. The highest level sound a human can stand before it gets unbearable is 120 decibels and I swear mine was higher. My head was rattling, I couldn't hear my voice in the normal way when I was talking. All the muscles and bones were strained to the max. I have really loved EmergeOrtho but I am so traumatized I dont even want to go to the good machine which I had prior, at another of their locations, until the trauma and anxiety wear off. I ended up in an Urgent Care Center about thirty minutes later. My neck, head, shoulders, even abdomen were feeling like there had been stressed and strained. Also I was worried about my ears. At WakeMed Urgent Care they found no perforations in my ears. They treated my neck and sent me with a Rx for muscle Relaxers plus a strong lidocaine gel. I cancelled the appt I let them to go to the other location and backed out of that one. Too traumatized. My theory: the MRI Machine was from the 60's and the two people in there were clueless. To be fair and just, those two technicians should have to experience what I did. I want to know some things: why did the phone operator tell me I could only get an MRI on a Sunday? Bribery, side hustle ? I want to know the make and model of that machine, and when it should have been retired. I want the names of the technicians. And a good attorney. All names of attorneys are welcome. Only honest will be considered.

Three weeks ago, I was there for X-rays to see if bone had grown into my tibial component, as there was a 2 mm gap between the component and the bone. At that visit, I was told they saw signs of bone growth. Today, I was told by Casey, Dr. McNabb's PA, that there is "no way to know" by looking at an X-ray. That is a drastic change from what I was told three weeks ago. When I questioned the inconsistency, I was told they had "retracted" what they told me originally. I was also told you cannot see bone growth on an X-ray; other surgeons do not agree with this. My recovery with Dr. McNabb and his PA has been terrible. I went to two other orthopedic surgeons, and both told me there is no bone growth and that the tibial component is possibly loose, showing this to me in detail on my imaging. Raleigh Orthopaedic either does not want to acknowledge this or is refusing to admit it -I honestly don't know. Because of this, we are now talking about a revision in the next few months with either UNC or Emerge Ortho, both of whom have been excellent at explaining everything clearly. I'm in my fifties, and this has been the worst experience I've ever had with a doctor. After surgery, I felt completely on my own. At one point, Dr. McNabb even told me that the physical therapy staff on the third floor "did not know what they were talking about." Bottom line: terrible experience. Get a second opinion. I didn't - and I truly wish I had.

Once there, I was quickly brought back, given xrays, and then saw the orthopedic specialist on staff, Dr Blaine Etzel. He immediately put me at ease with his warm, laid back and caring personality. He asked me lots of questions, gave my knee an exam, and showed me my xrays. He even gave me a copy of them without my asking. He explained exactly what was going on with my knee, referred me to PT, scheduled me for a follow up appointment in 4 weeks to come back here and see a knee specialist to make sure PT was working, and just answered all of my questions so thoroughly. He even offered me an immediate treatment to bring the swelling down and help with the pain, which I decided to accept, and am happy I did. Today, the next day, I'm already feeling much better, even though I know I still have weeks of PT ahead of me. I was so impressed with Dr Etzel and highly recommend him - it couldn't have been a better overall experience. I believe he works urgent care Fridays-Sundays, if I'm correct. The lady at the front desk was also super kind and easy to talk with. I just moved here from Austin, TX, where the options for a sudden knee injury are either generic urgent care or hospital emergency room. These places are useless, and all they do is xray you, give you crutches, and then have you call around to schedule with an external orthopedic specialist. This takes time and effort, and then you take the first available appointment, which might be a week or so out. Then that person will finally do the correct exam, tell you what they think is wrong, and then write a referral to PT. So it all takes a very long time with no quick answers. This was SUCH a better, one-stop experience, and I left knowing what to do! You can even come here for the PT or an MRI if you chose. They have it all here! Just so impressed by this place and grateful they were here for me.

They're always able to accommodate me with rescheduling and today I had to make an appointment for a Walk-in for my daughter. This location was highly rated for sports physical therapy and urgent care needs. My daughter is an athlete and often she experiences sprains when competing. Today's walk-in appointment was excellent. We met with Jake & Anna. They saw us right away and helped us with choosing an affordable & supportive ankle brace. Thanks to the team. I love how convenient this location is from home and the late evening hours.
