I have enjoyed buying glasses here. When I've needed adjustments or repairs, which I have more than most, Cassandra has helped me with patience and skill. This year I would have been happy to give them my business, but when they didn't have the type of frames I was looking for, Cassandra suggested other opticians that might and even called some to check. That was above and beyond the call of any businessperson's duty; it reminds me of "Miracle on 34th Street." Though I took her advice and found the perfect frames elsewhere, the experience makes me all the more anxious to patronize Advanced Vision in the future.

We had had an amazing experience in the past with Complex Care for my youngest child before she…read morepassed. When we went in for my son we tried a new doctor. She told us she could handle my son's conditions even though they were complex. We were also supposed to be part of a pilot program. We were able to get help one time when he was ill, but other than that we were ghosted. When I asked for more support the provider was concerned because he was "complex". She claimed not to understand his conditions. What happened was she was giving incorrect information to his providers and probably confusing him with another patient. I asked to be transferred to another doctor in the department since my son was enjoying working with them. My son was discriminated against and not offered that option. His voice was not heard in his own health care needs. The provider was rude and told us he was "too complex" for complex care. She was quick to push us out of the system into another system against my son's wishes. I once again asked to see another doctor as all my "complex child" needs is a handicapped parking pass, someone for me to troubleshoot with, and to email doctors and a check in every six months. Which at the end of the day isn't asking a lot of this doctors and nurses in complex care. I am concerned we were pushed out due to the fact that we are a neurodiverse family and the provider didn't seem to be able to understand how to relate to us. My son is crushed. He is not really interested in the new provider and his trust in Gillette looking out for him is shattered. I attempted to reach out and explain again for him, but received a certified letter that bordered on being openly hostile to our family and disrespectful to people of diverse disability and ethnic backgrounds. I did not show him the letter. I don't know how to explain to him that he has been abandoned and that the only thing complex care knew how to do was bill our insurance. I wish the provider would have been honest from the beginning about not being able to handle my son's needs. It's OK to say "I don't know". She did attempt to get him palliative care services and we do appreciate that. We also will miss the nurse we had there as well. I do wish that Gillette would be more transparent with what they can do so people like my child don't get burned.

They make my life so much easier! Their gift and card department is pretty awesome, too. I could spend hours in there. It would be a perfect place to go if you need a gift for someone and have absolutely no clue what to get them. Their sister store, Lloyd's, is located in St. Paul, and Lloyd's is a compounding pharmacy. You can even pick up your Lloyd's Rx at Setzer the following day if you don't feel like driving over to St. Paul. How convenient is that? You're probably going to pay less at Setzer than you would at one of the big annoying chain pharmacies, but even if it's the same, why would you go anywhere else? This place strives to earn your business, but more importantly, they work hard to keep their customers satisfied. I hope they never go away. I have been to High Pointe three times now: for two spinal shots and one spinal surgery at C5-C6…read more All three times, the experience has been exceptional - from the welcome I received upon check-in to my departure. The nursing staff and medical team are collectively well-qualified, compassionate, and professional. They thoroughly explain the procedure, what to expect, and the proper after-care at home. For my most recent procedure, the spinal surgery, I was impressed with how well the IV was inserted. Normally, phlebotomists have difficulty with IVs and drawing blood since I have rolling veins. Not so in this case! It was probably one of the easiest times I've ever had one done and there was little pain. The anesthesiologist asked a comprehensive number of questions and ensured that I felt comfortable going into surgery. Since I was having surgery on my neck and the normal way to put in a breathing tube would have cause additional stress on my neck (and ultimately pain, even if I couldn't feel it during surgery), he went out of his way to determine a way to insert a breathing tube effectively and without causing pain. I didn't ask that he do this. He did this on this own which shows his commitment to compassionate care and doing no harm to patients. The surgeon did a phenomenal job on the spinal surgery! After I had been dealing with a pinched nerve in the C5-6 region for 11 months, he was able to correct it during the surgery! He removed part of the vertebrae and noted that the nerve "popped up" immediately - exactly the result that was needed. Immediately after the surgery, I had NO PAIN OR NUMBNESSS in my left arm and hand. After living with the pain and numbness for 11 months, it felt surreal to go about the rest of my day without even a minutest amount of pain in my left arm or hand. The pain in my neck (where the surgical site was) is sore, but that's expected and I was told to expect it since muscles and tissues would be moved around, and part of the vertebrae removed. The appropriate amount of medication was prescribed and is able to address the pain. High Pointe followed up with me the day after my surgery to check on me. I gave an update and had a couple of questions for the nurse. She was able to answer my question quickly. I would high recommend High Pointe for anyone considering surgery by one of the providers. The experience far exceeded my expectations!

See…read morehttp://www.yelp.com/biz/st-croix-orthopaedics-pa-saint-paul#hrid:QxOea9z44dPz_vn88PxYFg for the second review. High Pointe is where I had my surgery. If a surgery center receives anything but a five star rating, you should be scared. Very scared. Fortunately, I didn't have to be. Being clean and well kept for a medical facility goes without saying. But the staff was very friendly and put you at ease. I wasn't very scared of going into surgery, but I'd be lying if I told you I wasn't at all apprehensive. It is surgery after all, even if it is miles away from any vital organs. Any number of things can go wrong. And the staff there was all smiley and joked around with me to help disperse some of that apprehensiveness. (One of the receptionists was a Vikings fan and made a comment about my Vikings sweatshirt. We had some fun poking fun at our next door rivals.) You had a private stall to get ready and whoever was there with you was allowed to see you just before they took you away. I remember being sprawled out on a surgery table with arms out much like Neo was in the last Matrix movie. It was kind of surreal and very Holy-like. I don't remember much of the recovery area as I only woke up briefly to mumble that I felt nauseous. I didn't feel like I said it very loud, but I heard some nurses scrambling to page a doc to see if they could give me some medicine for it, so either I said it louder than I thought, or the nurses were very attentive. Surgery didn't turn out to be that big of a deal to me other than not reacting well to general anesthetic. With that said, I don't care to repeat it anytime soon. But if I end up back at High Pointe, I'll certainly feel better that I'm in good hands.

It started with my prescription needing to be adjusted, and the optometrist was incredibly condescending throughout the process. At first, Nikki was kind and said they'd remake the lenses with the new prescription. Weeks later, the lenses came back -- but with the old prescription. They remade them again, this time with the correct prescription, but then the frames broke, so they had to reorder them. When the new frames arrived, they were different from the original ones I chose. When I pointed this out, they insisted it was the same model and that the manufacturer "must have changed them." Instead of apologizing, they said they'd see which frames fit my lenses -- as if I should just accept whatever worked. By this point, I'd been back multiple times, only because of their repeated mistakes, yet they treated me like I was the problem. It wasn't until I insisted on a refund that they finally agreed to make another pair in the correct frames. This entire process was an absolute nightmare -- disorganized, rude, and completely lacking accountability. Steer clear.
