I have been to High Pointe three times now: for two spinal shots and one spinal surgery at C5-C6. All three times, the experience has been exceptional - from the welcome I received upon check-in to my departure. The nursing staff and medical team are collectively well-qualified, compassionate, and professional. They thoroughly explain the procedure, what to expect, and the proper after-care at home. For my most recent procedure, the spinal surgery, I was impressed with how well the IV was inserted. Normally, phlebotomists have difficulty with IVs and drawing blood since I have rolling veins. Not so in this case! It was probably one of the easiest times I've ever had one done and there was little pain. The anesthesiologist asked a comprehensive number of questions and ensured that I felt comfortable going into surgery. Since I was having surgery on my neck and the normal way to put in a breathing tube would have cause additional stress on my neck (and ultimately pain, even if I couldn't feel it during surgery), he went out of his way to determine a way to insert a breathing tube effectively and without causing pain. I didn't ask that he do this. He did this on this own which shows his commitment to compassionate care and doing no harm to patients. The surgeon did a phenomenal job on the spinal surgery! After I had been dealing with a pinched nerve in the C5-6 region for 11 months, he was able to correct it during the surgery! He removed part of the vertebrae and noted that the nerve "popped up" immediately - exactly the result that was needed. Immediately after the surgery, I had NO PAIN OR NUMBNESSS in my left arm and hand. After living with the pain and numbness for 11 months, it felt surreal to go about the rest of my day without even a minutest amount of pain in my left arm or hand. The pain in my neck (where the surgical site was) is sore, but that's expected and I was told to expect it since muscles and tissues would be moved around, and part of the vertebrae removed. The appropriate amount of medication was prescribed and is able to address the pain. High Pointe followed up with me the day after my surgery to check on me. I gave an update and had a couple of questions for the nurse. She was able to answer my question quickly. I would high recommend High Pointe for anyone considering surgery by one of the providers. High Pointe is where I had my surgery. If a surgery center receives anything but a five star rating, you should be scared. Very scared. Fortunately, I didn't have to be. Being clean and well kept for a medical facility goes without saying. But the staff was very friendly and put you at ease. I wasn't very scared of going into surgery, but I'd be lying if I told you I wasn't at all apprehensive. It is surgery after all, even if it is miles away from any vital organs. Any number of things can go wrong. And the staff there was all smiley and joked around with me to help disperse some of that apprehensiveness. (One of the receptionists was a Vikings fan and made a comment about my Vikings sweatshirt. We had some fun poking fun at our next door rivals.) You had a private stall to get ready and whoever was there with you was allowed to see you just before they took you away. I remember being sprawled out on a surgery table with arms out much like Neo was in the last Matrix movie. It was kind of surreal and very Holy-like. I don't remember much of the recovery area as I only woke up briefly to mumble that I felt nauseous. I didn't feel like I said it very loud, but I heard some nurses scrambling to page a doc to see if they could give me some medicine for it, so either I said it louder than I thought, or the nurses were very attentive. Surgery didn't turn out to be that big of a deal to me other than not reacting well to general anesthetic. With that said, I don't care to repeat it anytime soon. But if I end up back at High Pointe, I'll certainly feel better that I'm in good hands. read more

I had some minor back surgery here and can't say enough positive things. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and I always felt extremely well taken care of. No one likes surgery but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend High Pointe to anyone. My sister has had 2 knee surgeries there and her experience was extremely good as well. read more

The people running this facility simply do not care about the patient or providing high quality care. It is a physician owned facility. The staff think they can treat patients badly and they have the backing of the physician group. There is no administrative oversight. I had surgery, the receptionist lied to me why my surgery was late, I had the surgery time wrong...when the doctor walked in 30 min late. They talk bad about their patients, if they ask questions. When I was walking up from anesthesia I overheard the nurses talking negatively about me The doctor never saw me after the surgery or post op. I had a ton of post op pain, called the office 3 days and never got an appointment or a call back. I was surgical wound was infected. This facility should be closed down. read more

I brought my husband here for arthroscopic knee surgery. I was a little skeptical about a day surgery center--these places sometimes make the news in a bad way--but everything was clean and well-organized. The surgeon, Dr. Panek of St. Croix Orthopedics, took plenty of time before the surgery to explain to both of us what he would be doing. After the surgery, he gave a thorough report on how it went and what he encountered. Post-surgery care was attentive and friendly. Overall the place is run very professionally, which is as it should be. The only difference between this and the hospital is that you don't stay overnight here. read more

I had two rotator cuff surgeries at High Point. I highly recommend their services. The staff was informative and helpful and made me feel very safe and comfortable. Of course I can also highly recommend my surgeon, Dr Schneider, as well as OSI Physical therapy. read more

If I could give a negative rating I would. First of all the receptionist was nasty. When I asked if I could stay on hold until I could speak with someone she gave me a snippy "Fine.". When I asked the nurse why my surgery was cancelled, she became defensive and rude. I was essentially told that they were concerned about the possibility of sleep apnea causing complications. Interestingly enough, I have never had nor do I have, sleep apnea and I have had several surgeries in the past with no issues. Apparently their "guidelines" include making up reasons to "protect" patients. In other words, they are more concerned with covering their butts than they are with taking care of people. read more

I needed to have a knee scope and with my surgeon my choice was to go to High Pointe. I have a high deductible health insurance and knew the fees would be less at an outpatient surgery center. I had little reservations going into the surgery but after surgery knew I had made the right choice. As a nurse, which I did not tell the staff, I was more aware of what was going on. From check in with Michelle, pre-op nurse Jennifer, OR nurse Karen and anesthesia Dr. Chen I had a wonderful experience, well as surgery experiences go. I felt from admission to discharge everything ran extremely smooth with everyone explaining everything every step of the way. My sisters came with and were very impressed. I know I will be needing another knee surgery shortly and hope to return to High Pointe for this procedure. I cant say enough about my surgeon, Dr. Kevin Lindgren and how caring, compassionate and kind he was. Thank you High Pointe staff for your awesome care!!!! read more
