I had a very specific vision for my wedding entrance song, and Blake went above and beyond to make it come to life. He created a personalized mix by blending a classic rock song with classical piano to maintain a traditional and elegant feel, and it turned out better than we could have imagined. We also had a Halloween wedding, and Blake played into the theme so naturally and effortlessly, adding to the fun without ever feeling forced. Nick put together a classy, yet relevant Halloween playlist that had the whole party dancing (after a couple drinks, at least). I wasn't sure if having a DJ at my Halloween party would be a good idea, but Nick turned out to be everyone's favorite part. Back to Brandon. I hadn't met with Brandon prior to my event, since booking him was relatively last minute. We shared very few texts - which were so accommodating of my busy schedule. We selected Premier to DJ our wedding night. Communication: Bobby, our DJ, was extremely communicative. We chatted multiple times before the day of to get a good sense of what we were looking for, and how the night would go. Additionally, I had a live musician playing over an accompanying track for part of the ceremony. Here, Bobby was great. He communicated with live musician directly, and they planned everything out. Planning: Their app was hard to navigate, and I found it stressful that it only allowed Youtube videos, but a lot of the Indian songs I wanted I could find on "normal" Youtube, but not on their app. I think I would have honestly just preferred sending him a list of songs and a link (whether from Youtube or Spotify) On a positive note, I was a bit too stressed leading up to the wedding to prepare a Spotify playlist (after having found a lot of the songs on Youtube, but unable to add them to the app), but after chatting with Bobby, he mentioned he had an Indian music list from a recent wedding that he could use for ours. Day-of: Bobby arrived on time and played all the right music at all the right times for the ceremony, including the bit with the live musician. For the reception, the music was absolutely bomb and the dance floor stayed full the entire night. We had chosen about half the songs, and he filled out the rest with songs that matched the vibe. He was great at ordering the old-school hits with the new music to keep the party moving. One hiccup we had: we didn't do a bouquet toss, but instead did a silly "stuffed cat toss." We gave him a very specific song to play here (with a very specific time stamp to start at), but he instead played a song frequently used with bouquet tosses. In the grand scheme of things, everyone loved the cat toss regardless, and we still had a great time. read more

We looked at a few other national options like Toasted, Wedfully, but Brandon was hands down the most personable, chill, and best fit given our traditional, long Hindu ceremony. We had Natalia DJ our wedding and I could not possibly have asked for better. She understood what we were going for and blended seamlessly into, well, both the background and our family. I originally thought we would just have a playlist and a friend or sibling could "DJ" (bad idea, don't do it), but as we got closer to our wedding date I started stressing and reached out to maaany DJ businesses, probably around 60. I wanted someone who would make everyone feel comfortable (including my wife and I--both of us are terrified of being in the spotlight or dancing at all), who would just read the crowd and go with the flow, who would not show up in a sparkly suit and use a weird DJ name :), and mostly who would just help us be our most authentic selves for our wedding with no pressure. And get our music tastes and not play offensive music. And be within my budget. The list goes on. Anyway, Natalia did all of that and more. She also remixed two songs for us. The first was Party of One (Brandi Carlile) for our processional song, which Natalia understood right off the bat when I mentioned the idea despite Party of One being kind of a sad song. The second was Simply the Best; she made a mashup of Tina Turner's song and Noah Reid's cover, which was so perfect that we ended up asking her to play it again. Everyone had a phenomenal time, even though objectively I guess everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong. (Not really, but coronavirus became a big deal right when our wedding happened, so almost half our guests declined the morning/afternoon of our wedding, making for a very small party... And also rain.) We have beautiful, amazing memories of the whole day, and I can't even believe that I once thought we could DJ our own wedding. I'm so glad I got to just enjoy every second of music, friends, and family. My wife and I even danced of our own free will! The Premier Entertainment Group was included in our contract with our wedding venue. We were sent a survey to fill out upon booking our venue to fill out some details about our wedding day. We were paired with our DJ, Nick, about 90 days before our wedding. We met with him about 2 months before our big day in person at a coffee shop. We went through everything that we wanted and got to know him a little bit. Over the next 2 months leading up to our day, I changed just about about everything we originally decided. He was extremely flexible and understanding. We even made changes to our grand entrance the day before our wedding. Nick was an amazing DJ for our wedding. He had a ton of energy and pumped up our crowd. We also booked some uplighting and dance lights through this company for an additional fee. We had a very small wedding (40 people), and I was very much afraid that we would have a very low energy party. I had incorporated extra items to the schedule in order to fill out time because I was convinced there would not be much dancing with such a small wedding. DJ Mike Bond was fantastic! I will say that when I booked with Vista West Ranch I was nervous about a DJ being included not really knowing what their sound was, but I had no reason to worry. He played songs for all ages. I remember saying to a friend that I wish he would play a song that I didn't love so I could take a breather...I then proceeded right back to the dance floor because he was playing another song that I again just couldn't miss! During dinner I had some suggestions, but when he told me about a play list he already had that's really nice for the dinner portion of the wedding, and after talking to him for a few minutes, I completely trusted him. I was right to do so because I got so many compliments on the dinner music! The reception was even better. As I said earlier there were songs for all ages. Lighting. When it came to lighting I wanted specific dance lighting during the reception that wasn't too "club-ish" so after many emails back and forth (along with me sending pictures and videos...I was that person), we figured out what I was asking for and it turned out perfect the day of the wedding. We also had a good laugh about my lighting "expertise" (they were not) during our consultation before the wedding. My only suggestion to brides is to keep your music request list small or just don't go overboard. I added a ton of requests so there were songs that I wanted to hear that weren't played. Add a few songs and then let them do their magic. That's what they are there for and with my experience you won't be disappointed. read more
