I love working with Dr Dan. Since I started PT with him, I've gotten a lot stronger & my back injury has improved. I've also learned a ton about how my body works, and how to take care of myself. And most important of all, it's been fun! I actually look forward to workouts because Dan is so fun to chat with. I absolutely recommend prehab2perform, especially to anyone who is dealing with a low back injury. read more

Prehab 2 Perform - Physical Therapy Near Me - Venice, California

I had torn my labrum in my right shoulder about 10 years ago and always had found ways to work around it when lifting. However, in november 2020, I reinjured it badly. I decided to go to multiple physical therapists for the next 1.5 years and it never was getting better. I decided to go to Dr. Steve in May 2022 and I can honestly say he's the best physical therapist I've ever been to (I've been to many over the last ten years for my shoulder). Instead of just giving you band work like most other physical therapists, Steve gave a ton of different exercises that were able to strengthen my shoulder, improve my posture, and eventually get my shoulder to the best it's ever been in my life. In my personal experience, I feel like most physical therapists get your shoulder to the point it doesn't hurt in everyday life, but Steve is able to get my shoulder to the point I can workout and lift heavy weight again. My shoulder was in great shape after seeing Steve for a few months, but I continued going to him for the next year for other miscellaneous aches / pains like lower back and hip issues. Unfortunately, I'm moving from LA and don't know the next time I'll be back, but whenever another injury pops up, I'd rather pay the money for the flight to LA and see Steve than find another physical therapist. Would recommend Steve to anyone with literally any pains or aches in their body! read more

Working out at Paradiso has been a massive life improvement for me. I've been working out with Dr. Dan, and he has been so helpful. I'm stronger than I have ever been in my life. But it's also always fun and engaging to work out with him and the Paradiso crew. He pushes me to my limits, but is so cautious and careful about not letting me get hurt or go too hard. He's flexible in scheduling and fun to talk to. Paradiso is the best community and I recommend it to anyone looking for a fun new gym experience. read more

Trevor has been my physical therapist/trainer and he has been amazing! I had a bunch of various injuries and pain/inflammation in my shoulder, elbow and rotator cuff after a broken collar injury plus back injuries from a car accident. Trevor has been able to work out most if not all my kinks through various PT methods. He's been using Graston, stretching, cupping, massage and then getting into various resistance bands and weighted training to help strengthen specific muscle groups. It has worked immensely. I highly recommend Trevor and Steve runs a great business. If you have any aches and pains, these guys can help. read more

I starting coming to Prehab2Perform nearly two years ago at the recommendation of a friend. Despite considering myself in decent shape, I couldn't do a simple squat or lunge and was having foot pain that prevented me from running for 5 years. Steve was great about really addressing what was causing my issues and gave me exercises that worked almost right away. After only a couple months of once a week sessions, I felt like a different person - I had no pain when running, was much stronger and more mobile and happier since I could get back to a workout routine. I was able to run a marathon this year again which I never thought I would be able to do again. Prior to this, I can honestly say I had tried EVERYTHING (every kind of trendy, quick fixes, multiple physical therapists, doctors) and spent thousands of dollars trying to get better. I was convinced I would never feel better or that surgery would be my only option and this was the only thing that helped. I feel very fortunate to have found them when I did. My only regret is not going sooner. My friend that originally recommended them said they would change my life and he was right! read more

I have been working with Trevor for about ten sessions for Physical Therapy. It has been the best decision I have ever made during my injury process. The work we do not only helps me feel my muscles are becoming stronger to support buldge for discs from a car accident, but also help me emotionally feel supported in changing my body to become stronger. As an amateur athlete who loves sports I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. Also Trevor knows and is aware of nerve injuries so he knows when I need to do nerve glides and stretching to help any pain. Excellent!! I am so happy I found them. Heather Gaydos read more

I had been struggling with my shoulder for about 3 months. I started going to physical therapy after month 2 with a physical therapist that my doctor referred me to. After 6 sessions I had slight improvement, but not enough to get me back to the gym and I also left each session not 100% convinced that the therapist knew what the root cause was. I was beginning to think I was going to have to deal with the pain indefinitely. Nothing worse than that... A friend of mine recommended that I come talk to Dr. Steve, citing his personal experience with both injury recovery and preventative help. It only took 3 minutes speaking with Dr. Steve for him to understand exactly what the problem was. After ONE session, my shoulder had felt better than it had in 3 months. I also left with an arsenal of exercises to aid my recovery and they have. I went from feeling hopeless to optimistic within minutes of walking in the door. For anyone who has struggled with recovery and past PTs, Prehab 2 Perform is your answer. read more

Steve is excellent to work with and extremely knowledgeable on the human body as it relates to physical performance. After working with him, I'm confident that I will recover much more quickly from my injuries, and more importantly, improve my performance in the long term thanks to the knowledge I left our session with. I highly recommend for anyone dealing with any kind of physical ailments, from minor aches/pains to more serious injuries, Steve has you covered. read more

So happy to have found Steve! I've been working with him now for about a year and a half now, and wouldn't go to any other physical therapist. I originally had an inner- knee issue that had bothered me for years. After seeing multiple different physical therapists (none of who were able to help me or even point me in the right direction) a friend of mine recommended I go see Steve. He had me working out and running distances again pain-free in only a few sessions! I now refer Steve to all my family and friends and continue to see him for anything that starts to bother me, or gets out of balance. I highly recommend the Prehab 2 Perform team- they are one of a kind PT! read more

Steve has helped my strength and recovery tremendously. I've had strength and mobility issues my entire life, and after only two sessions (one with him and one with his partner at Simply Stretch LA), I was able to do the deepest squat of my life. He's extremely professional, knowledgeable, and has taught me a lot about my body while helping me to strengthen it. 10 / 10, definitely recommend. read more

I've been working with Prehab 2 Perform for the last five months and recently started seeing Jess - she is AMAZING! I'd never been cupped before and now I look forward to getting it done every session. Jess pays careful and detailed attention to what your body needs, and her bodywork has helped alleviate my back/quad/shoulder/whatever pain I arrive with that day. She also gave me more mobility exercises to use for recovering on my own in the gym/at home. After each session with either Jess or Steve, I feel stronger, my performance improves, and I hit PRs. I highly recommend Jess, Steve, and the Prehab 2 Perform team! read more

Prehab 2 Perform - Thank you Prehab 2 Perform for helping me with my mobility work to get ready for the VBC Fall Classic! - Physical Therapy Near Me - Venice, California

I saw Steve over the course of a couple months after a lumbar disc injury. After a few visits I was feeling more mobile, and with less pain. Over the last several weeks it felt great (and a little shocking) to be working out and sweating down in the gym after being sidelined for so long. I had one session with Trevor as well, who was also great. They each are familiar with crossfit movements, which was important for me, but I'd recommend these guys to anyone. Thank you! read more

I don't write a review or testimonial for services unless I'm confident of their commitment to be excellent. I've been working with Steve after having gone through surgeries, chemo and radiation, consistently since March 2017. (2-3 times a week, except when traveling, sick or scheduling issue) The "C" treatment took a toll on me physically and mentally from extreme upper body tightness, wrist/hand pain & numbness, severe back and left hip pain to losing ironman passion. Steve helped me get stronger and gain confidence by focusing more on mobility and flexibility initially and gradually incorporating strength training, prehabing and personal training. I now workout 4-7 days a week with more flexibility and less joint pain. Just last month (April 2019), I realized my left hip is pain-free (knock on wood). When I feel back pain coming on, I'm able to prevent it from getting worse. As a committed ironman athlete for over 10 years, I've known how important strength training is especially the older I get, but I never managed to fit it into my IM training schedule. The thought of crossfit and weightlifting used to scare me with fear of getting injured. Like most ironman athletes, I also used to spend a lot of time and money searching for the right Physical Therapist to rehab instead of prehab; and buying many body gadgets to speed up recovery. Steve is a breath of fresh air and is now an important part of my "new" life. Here're why he is NOT your typical PT. He has a doctorate in physical therapy. He is an athlete himself. His sessions can be focused on rehab/recovery, mobility/flexibility, grasston massage or personal training. He is professional and a good coach who motivates and pushes your limit in a safe way. He is an entrepreneur with passion to invent recovery and prehab devices that are simple to use and reasonably priced. He works in the same office with his inspiring, kind and beautiful wife who is a Stretch Therapist. My goal is to be able to do at least 1 unassisted pull-up by the end of 2019. It may not sound like a high bar, but I can tell you, it's much harder than doing an ironman so far :-| read more

I have been going to Prehab 2 Perform over the last several years for maintenance for triathlon training,CrossFit, and just your every day "sitting too much" tightness and a bit of knee pain. I recently had the pleasure of working with Jess to help me work out the kinks in my extremely tight legs & hips. After some initial stretching (the best!), cupping, and graston, she provided me with a comprehensive stretching and mobility plan to carry with me in my every day life. She was focused on me incorporating techniques and movements as accessory work that I could do in addition to my training to make sure I was working on strength and mobility outside of her care. She also gave me some easy movements to do while I was at home. Thanks to the plan I was able to crush my triathlon goal time, and without any knee pain to boot! read more

I have sought out help from Prehab2Perform over the last ~6 months months for physical therapy and recovery from olympic lifting, crossfit and general wear and tear. Most recently, I have been working with Jess to resolve pain and stiffness in my lower back and could not be in better hands! After an initial assessment (pressure test, cupping and graston), she provided me with a comprehensive modified training plan that focuses on body positioning so I can rebuild the necessary core support that will set me up for success in the future. Jess is very attentive and made sure she had a holistic understanding of my symptoms, training and concerns so she can provide the best approach to treatment. I am already noticing an improvement after 1 day following her modified training plan and will continue to see her throughout my recovery. Very highly recommended! read more

Steve and Lindsay are the best physical therapists for any athletic individual that's looking to recover from an injury. The fact that they are great athletes themselves makes them sympathetic to an active person's injury. Unlike other PT's that tell you to stop doing something they offer mobility and strengthening exercises that will get anyone on the road to recovery. Personally, I've been seeing Steve even after I've recovered from my injury because working on flexibility, mobility and strength for your weak areas protects against injury. Talk to these guys, you won't regret it! read more

I've been seeing Dr. Steve for almost one year and he has completely changed my physical abilities. I went to him barely being able to walk from back pain following the birth of my second child and lack of stability and strength in my core area. He has a wonderful bedside manner, is professional, cares about his clients and consistently checks in on my progress and how I'm feeling. read more

I've been working with Steve for a year now and I don't plan on stopping. I have(had?) two bulging discs in my neck that have given me issues for the last 5 years. Once a year it would get so bad I would be hospitalized and in a lot of pain. Then I'd go right back to physical therapy provided by my insurance. I was referred to Steve by a friend and I'm now paying out of pocket, and it's worth every penny. Haven't had a setback since and he does a great job of listening to your issues and changing the routine based on what he knows will correct it. I understand insurance is cheaper then paying out of pocket but I can promise you it's not. After 4 years of paying a deductible and not getting anywhere, I've spent less money going to Steve for a year and feel much better. Just remember, no matter who you go to you're gonna have to work on it outside of your appointments, but be ready to work and feel great. read more

I had such a wonderful experience here! I had been to a bunch of other places for my injury, and this was the only place that actually helped. They listened to me, figured out what was going on, and came up with an individualized plan to get me back to being active and working out. I recommend this place highly! read more

I have a terrible range of motion. I've never stretched properly before exercise--which is part of the problem. The times that I had attempted warm ups, I didn't notice that much of a difference during or after the workout. I took Steve's course, Prehab 2 Perform and now I get it. You have to know HOW to stretch and strengthen supportive muscles to feel the benefits. The class is quite simple to follow. You attempt a movement: a squat, overhead position, etc. He then shows you the fastest way to stretch/mash/activate the muscles that allow you to get full range of motion in that movement. Steve and his wife, Lindsay are both very patient and good at coaching through some of the discomfort. It is worth it. When you actually feel the difference, it is easier to motivate and properly prepare to train. I highly recommend the Prehab 2 Perform course. read more

At the request of a former patient Steve fit me in for a quick session, and I'm so grateful he did. Came to Cali to run a race an needed an adjustment. Steve made some stretching suggestions and strengthening/muscle activation exercises and I PRd my half marathon! Wow! I wish I lived closer to work with Steve more consistently... I know he'd help me become a stronger athlete, he did so after one session. I feel that Steve starts at the root of the problem & trust his process to get me back & better than before. I truly believe Prehab to perform should be your first choice. read more

Steve is amazing. He has done a wonderful job of listening to me about my symptoms and instead of just treating those, he's been digging deeper for the cause. Steve is a very knowledgeable physical therapist and I am extremely satisfied with his services. I previously had a SLAP tear, surgical repair, and then a re-tear. I saw UCLA physical therapists for 2 years and hit a plateau with them. Steve helped take my PT to the next level by educating me on shoulder stability and teaching me advanced workouts. He took photos to document my progress and consistently checked in with me to make sure I wasn't in any unnecessary pain. Steve is truly a master at his craft and even accommodated me with a discount! I will definitely continue physical therapy with him. read more

I feel very lucky to have found Dr. Steve. Working with him has really made a huge impact on my shoulder mobility and strength! He is also a great person. What truly sets them apart, other than their wide knowledge base, is the way they interact with their clientele. They really take the time to figure out the issue/concern, then carefully explain to you "why it is happening" and "how it can be improved." I came to them for an overall physical overview and with a slight shoulder, muscle-spasm and Steve carefully outlined a plan to get back to proper form. This was achieved through proper instruction of stretches and movements to improve mobility. At various times, since we also occasionally workout in the same Crossfit Box, he is able to point out additional movements to focus on that improve my lifts - quite dramatically I might add. They are definitely masters of their craft. I highly recommend them! read more

I saw Steve to make sure that a low back injury that I had wasn't too serious and to find out if there was anything I could do to help it heal fast and get stronger so it didn't happen again. I was very impressed with Steve and how knowledgable and confident he was. He gave me a few exercises and stretches to do; I really feel that they made all the difference in my healing process. I would definitely see Steve again if the need was there. He's helpful and easy to talk to and passionate about what he does and it comes across in his work! read more

I have seen Steve multiple times for various issues such as back pain and neck pain. He is extremely good at identifying the source of the pain, the cause of the issue, as well as a establishing a recovery plan. I definitely recommend him if you're looking for someone who is straight to the point, effective, and can help you turn around your injury quickly. read more

These guys ARE the good ones! Recently went in for an appointment for some knee pain. I saw Steve, one of the owners.
